7) Titán & Volador Jr. b Bestia 666 & Flamita highlights (posted by Kronosport)
CMLL team won. Volador and Flamita made singles match challenges.

Main event was said to be great, with the semimain strong and other matches on the show very entertaining as well. +LuchaTV has clips of the Bestario I tournament. The guy who won being declared the loser is the expected outcome when there are judges and also why I hate this bit. Bring on 13 weeks of En Busca de un Idolo.

6) Negro Casas b Volador Jr. © [NWA WELTER] 6) Volador Jr. © b Negro Casas [NWA WELTER]
Volador’s 3rd defense. Negro jumped Volador before the pre-match photographer and took fall 1. Volador took fall 2 with a backcracker, then beat Negro with his own casita to win the match.

Last week’s Casas/Volador match did not run long – Claro Sports was a 4 match show, and it wasn’t the longest match. This week’s doesn’t sound like it went a lot longer.

AAW announced they’ll have Fenix & Pentagon Jr. in on their 11/28 show in Cicero. I haven’t gotten a chance to listen to the Last Real Heel’s interview with Angelico, but I’m told Angelico mentions he’s available to be booked in the US too. These, and the Team AAA appearance at CHIKARA’s King of Trios, aren’t meant to be exceptions. I’m told AAA is open and interested in getting their guys bookings on the US indies right now. They’re probably thinking mostly the guys who have worked on Lucha Underground (who would mean more in the US and would have papers to get into the US) and it’s probably still tricky to for a foreign promotion and a US one to work together, but there’s an emphasis on trying to get the AAA guys bookings.

Arena Coliseo Guadalajara announced they’d be on back on local TV starting next week. They’ll air Saturdays on local Canal 4 (a Televisa affiliate) at 9pm. The ad indicates it’ll be Tuesday matches. That’s probably the matches which have aired on 52MX previously. Perhaps that means whatever shift CMLL is making with TV will go down next weekend.

Estadio Deportes has Friday post match interviews from Arena Mexico. Euforia & Ultimo Guerrero were completely baffled by Thunder’s behavior, but haven’t totally given up on him. Thunder insists he has no problem with the Guerreros, but Rush is his and his alone. Niebla Roja & Gran Guerrero were happy with Ultimo Guerrero’s surprise run-in on their match, and Gran Guerrero talked about an apuesta match.

SuperLuchas looks back at Canek vs Billy Robinson, the rematch.

Rob has highlights of 02/06/15 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

LV’s reviews include the Lucha World Cup and a ton of lucha TV. I can’t believe I got someone to watch the random San Luis Potosi lucha I found.

This week’s +LuchaTV is up.

Line is a messaging app, and you can buy stickers as add ons. It doesn’t matter, this CMLL art are amusing without context.

Lucha Libre in Japan

05/29 NJPW: Barreta [4] b Barbaro Cavernario [4]
Neither had tournament matches on 05/30 or 05/31. The 05/30 show was supposed to have Mascara Dorada vs face Alex Shelley in what might have been one of the highlights of the tournament. Cavernario’s singles match on the 29th and his non-tournament tag match on the 30th were both fun, and he’s had a strong tour. Figure on him getting a return trip. The next show is 06/02, with both luchadors

05/30 AAA TV Results (Reynosa)

AAA TV (SAT) 05/30/2015 Parque Adolfo Lopez Mateos, Reynosa, Tamaulipas[@doradafan, AAA, El Manana Reynosa]
1) Asterisco Jr., Komander, Magnifico, Rey Astral b Imagen De Oro, Imagen Ii,Maldicion, Rocker Boy Magnifico, Komander, Rey Astral & Asterisco Jr. vs. Imagen II, Imagen de Oro, Maldición & Rocker Boy (posted by Doradafan)
Dark match.
2) Parka Negra & Taya Valkyrie b El Elegido & Faby Apache
Pimpi & Hijo del Pirata were scheduled but did not appear. Pirata apologized on his Twitter for missing the show. Taya beat Faby with her northern lights suplex double stomp sequence.
3) Angélico & Jack Evans DQ Dark Cuervo & Dark Scoria
La Secta were DQed again, this time for excessive violence.
4) Brian Cage, Pentagón Jr., Texano Jr. b Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
Cage beat Monsther Clown with a jackhammer.
5) Blue Demon Jr., Fénix, Myzteziz b Averno, Chessman, Electroshock
Fenix beat Electroshock with the Atrapa Suenos (Dream Catcher)
6) El Patrón Alberto & La Parka DQ Cibernético & El Mesías
Cage interfered to attack Alberto for the DQ, and repeated his title challenge.

Air Date: 06/06 – quick turnaround. Opener (and dark match) may end up being internet exclusives.

It rained during the show. It doesn’t look wet during the first match and the newspaper recap mentions it stopped right before the main event, but the mat looks moist. Hope that didn’t hurt the matches much, but it might have.

After his loss, Electroshock (on behalf of Holocausto) took credit for being the ones who prevented Cibernetico from showing up for the trios title match at Verano de Escandalo. It’s nothing they’ve especially built towards and doesn’t completely make sense, but any explanation is a good explanation.

Not much else new – it’s the cage match and the Cage match which continue to get the focus going into Verano de Escandalo.

They’ve got a show tonight Piedras Negras, and then back taping again on Monday.

Ultimo Guerrero versus Revolucionarios, Ultimo Guerrero versus Thunder?, AAA in Reynosa, CaraLucha, ChilangaMask

2) Astral, Eléctrico, Shockercito DQ Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pequeño Violencia
Demus fouled Shockercito
3) Misterioso Jr. b Fuego [lightning] VIERNES ESTELARES DEL CMLL 29 MAYO 2015 MATCH RELAMPAGO (4) (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Misterioso won with a Gori Special in about 5:30
4) Ángel de Oro, Guerrero Maya Jr., Stuka Jr. b Boby Zavala, Puma, Tiger VIERNES ESTELARES DEL CMLL 29 MAYO 2015 EVENTO ESPECIAL (3) (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Puma suffered a shoulder injury on a stacked ups supelplex spot.
5) Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión DQ Gran Guerrero, Negro Casas, Niebla Roja VIERNES ESTELARES DEL CMLL 29 MAYO 2015 LUCHA SEMIFINAL (2) (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Revolucionarios unmasked Gran Guerrero, forcing him to return to the locker room for a new mask and allowing them to destroy the other two. Gran Guerrero ran back out with a new mask, and submitted Rey Escorpion to Pulpo Guerrero – only to unmask as Ultimo Guerrero! Referee DQed the Guerreros.
6) La Sombra, Naito, Rush b Euforia, Thunder, Último Guerrero VIERNES ESTELARES DEL CMLL 29 MAYO 2015 LUCHA ESTELAR (1) (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Thunder and Ultimo Guerrero had problems, allowing the Ingobernables to take advantage for the win. UG challenged Rush to a hair vs hair match.

They did a very small tease of a problem between Thunder & Ultimo Guerrero back in the same incredible partners matches which turned Dragon Rojo. The clips here look very unsubtle, with Thunder going as far as stealing a pin. Ultimo Guerrero also being involved in the semimain suggests maybe some faction vs faction vs faction cage match, if that’s indeed still the plan.

Terra broadcasted the first three matches, possibly as a trial run for what they’ll be doing with En Busca de un Idolo. Feed didn’t start on time and was completely unwatchable for the opener, then got slightly better for the following two matches. Getting to watch live on Terra is nice, but it still makes a lot of sense to put the En Busca de un Idolo matches on YouTube after they take place.

AAA has it’s first normal TV taping in about a month today in Reynosa. Main event is Patron & Parka vs Cibernetico & Mesias. This taping and the Monday one are probably designed to shift focus to Verano de Escandalo; the card’s been announced but the attention has been elsewhere.

AAA’s TV show today is moved back to 6:15 pm today. The Lucha World Cup will air Sunday at Canal 5 in Mexico as well. It’s a two hour show, so they’ll probably air only some of the show.

CaraLucha has it’s first Anniversary show in about an hour, with Volador & Titan facing the indy team of Bestia 666 & Flamita. Rush vs Hechicero is the semimain on a loaded show. Hechicero suggests he’s going to out smart the headstrong Rush, which seems like a decent strategy.

ChilangaMask is in Toluca with locals Gemlos Fantasticos taking on the Traumas. Fulgor I defends the Estadio de Mexico welteright championship against Psycko Kid & former champ Astro Rey.

There is no CMLL Coliseo show tonight. AULL has a show featuring Mexico based international wrestlers, which obviously seems inspired by the World Cup.

CMLL.com launched their new website today, a couple days early. It’s not a huge interface departure from what was done before, but it’s easier to use and probably easier to manage now that they’re on WordPress. Site’s probably a lot better on mobile too. The news page is now a blog – they’ve got the preview for Sunday’s Casas/Volador title match up now. They also have more detailed information on their training sessions than they’ve posted in the past. The one bit I’m not a fan of is the new results page: you’re required to hit a plus to see each match and can’t see the results of the whole card at once. They made the switch over last night, and last night’s results aren’t up yet. The Friday video clips that used to be decently hidden on the old site are not being posted to YouTube.

The best part of the new site is an interactive display of the Arena Mexico mural, with a short video on how it came to be.

Dylan Zero has a great preview of this year’s En Busca de un Idolo, especially if you’re a person who doesn’t normally follow these things.

R de Rudo has an interview with luchadora Quimera, who’s appeared on FULL TV as of late.

RobViper has highlights of 02/03/15 CMLL

LuchaWorld has Alfredo’s Lucha World Weekly from 05/29/15

Segunda Caida reviews Lucha Underground episode 28.

SuperLuchas looks back to Hijo del Santo regaining the UWA lightweight championship on the same day 6 luchadora trainees of Blue Panther debuted.

Dragon Lee is being advertised for a show on 06/21 in the Los Angeles area, which would be his US debut.

Black Terry trainees vs Eterno trainees

I want to see what Eterno trainees look like. I don’t think of Eterno as old enough to have trainees, but he has been around for a quite a while.

CMLL (FRI) 06/05/2015 Arena México
1) Magnus & Starman vs Hijo del Signo & Metálico
2) Blue Panther Jr., Pegasso, The Panther vs Disturbio, Okumura, Sangre Azteca
3) Dark Angel, Goya Kong, Princesa Sugehit vs Amapola, Dalys, Tiffany
4) Delta vs Boby Zavala [En Busca de un Idolo]

6) Euforia, Thunder, Último Guerrero vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión
7) Dragon Lee, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible

Dragon Lee in a Friday main event, in Mistico’s normal spot, seems like a big deal. Ultimo Guerrero actually faces the Revolucionarios in a match. Dark Angel apparently still works here.

Fourth and fifth are the first En Busca de un Idolo matches, and probably those first five matches will all air.

Dalys handles the video preview.

CMLL Friday, notes

Not a lot going on today, which means there’s a CMLL show tonight. Things are a lot busier on Saturday, with AAA taping in Reynosa, Cara Lucha having their Anniversary show in Arena San Juan and Chilanga Mask running a show in Toluca. Basta’s interviewed Gemelo Fantasticos for that show, with them claiming that Toluca has the best lucha libre.

Today’s Arena Mexico show has another in the unending and fairly uninteresting Ingobernables/Guereros matches as the main event. The slight difference is Naito now teaming with Rush & Sombra instead of La Mascara or Marco. The semimain has the Revolucionarios versus more Guerreros & Negro Casas (so the top two matches are both rudos vs rudos.) Best match on the show might be Angel de Oro, Guerrero Maya Jr., Stuka versus Puma, Tiger and Zavala in the semimain.

The lineup announcement for next week’s Arena Mexico will include the first En Busca de un Idolo 4 matches.

Arena Queretaro says there will be a tribute show to Carlos Maynez on July 21st, headlined by Canek.

Alberto & Rey Mysterio Jr. will be wrestling in Arena Coliseo Monterrey in August.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

+LuchaTV has an interview with Okumura & Naito, another with Shocker, and highlights from Tijuana: Xtreme Tiger, Rey Horus, and the new Rey Misterio II versus Nicho, Arandu, TJ Boy and Wagners vs Parkas.

Segunda Caida reviews Ángel de Oro, Stuka Jr., Titán vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Felino, Pólvora

Drastick Boy is pleased to make his first international trip.
