Rudy Reyna, Shocker/Marco in Puebla, Occidente Trios tournament, FILL

CMLL (MON) 04/27/2015 Arena Puebla [CMLL, Periodico Enfoque]
1) Espíritu Maligno, Mercurio, Saurón b Asturiano, Meyer, Último Dragoncito
2) Pegasso, Sensei, Soberano Jr. b Policeman, Rey Apocalipsis, Toro Bill Jr.
Rey Apocalispis returned to the main shows from “a major injury”. He and Toro Bill Jr. are going by “El Batallon de la Muerte.”
3) Hechicero, Tiger, Virus b Blue Panther Jr., Stigma, The Panther
4) Dragón Rojo Jr., Máximo, Titán b Bárbaro Cavernario, Ephesto, Mephisto
Maximo beat Mephisto. Maximo’s the world heavyweight champion and challenged for Mephisto’s light heavyweight championship (because all championships mean the same.) Mephisto ignored him.
5) Rey Escorpión, Shocker, Thunder b La Máscara, La Sombra, Marco Corleone
Shocker used the ropes to beat Marco.

CMLL’s recap doesn’t mention the title challenge.

CMLL (SUN) 04/26/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) Meteoro & Star Black b El Piraña & Guerrero De La Muerte
Debut for Star Black and probably a new Guerrero de la Muerte.
2) Capitan Cobra & Mr. Apolo DCOR Mercenario & Mr. Brisa
Debuts for all. tecnicos dove on to the rudos in the third fall, neither team was able to return in time.
3) El Alteño, El Divino, Linterna Verde Jr. b Évola, Gitano, Thunder Boy
4) El Cuatrero, Joker, Sansón b Forastero, Hijo del Calavera, Magnum [OCCIDENTE TRIOS, tournament]
Magnum had Joker beat, but Sanson distracted the referee and Cuatrero turned over the pin for the win.
5) Furia Roja, Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno b Flash I, Flash II, Frezzer [OCCIDENTE TRIOS, tournament]
Sets up a rudo/rudo match in the next round.

I think the Cuatrero/Joker/Sanson team is a slight favorite. Either Capitan Cobra is really old, or he’s a second generation luchador. All those new guys come of as just names on a list, there’s no info on them (or even acknowledgement that they’re new.)

Rudy Reyna passed away Monday morning due to complications from diabetes. LuchaWorld has a great piece about Reyna as one of the first exoticos in Lucha Libre.SuperLuchas, El Pancracio and R de Rudo also have obits.

Pirata Morgan talked to +LuchaTV about his recently deceased brother, El Verdugo.

Fantasma de la Opera’s mother (wife of the original, aunt of Cerebro Negro) passed away.

CMLL’s show tonight in Arena Mexico is headlined by Shocker, Negro Casas, and Vangellys vs Atlantis, Blue Panther and Dragon Lee. They’re hinting towards a Casas/Shocker vs Atlantis/Panther tag title match, but haven’t actually announced anything yet. Tonight’s title match is Princesa Sugehit challenging Narumiya for the CMLL-RENA International championship. Narumiya has a better chance of holding on to her title than Syuri a few weeks ago; it’d be surprise to see two straight Japanese women losing their REINA titles her.

Sky Team defend their trios titles over in Guadalajara against the Guerreros. This should also be a title defense, it’s far too soon for the Sky Team to lose. Marco, Porky, Titan vs Mr. Aguila, Mr. Niebla and Thunder is the semimain match.

Leyendas Inmortales has a (possible) TV taping over in Arena Queretaro. Main event is Canek, Heavy Metal, and Octagon vs Fuerza Guerrera, Psciosis II and Hechicero. There’s a Fantasma vs Mascara Ano 2000 vs Mr. Jack match where mask, hair and title are on the line, so Mr. Jack will probably no longer be champion at the end of the night. Mascara is likely to win it to set up matches with Heavy Metal.

Minor changes on Sunday’s Arena Mexico show: Kraneo in for Ripper, Apocalipsis in for Cholo.

Dr. Wagner Jr. says he’s not working an upcoming show in Puebla, probably the fair show on Thursday.

Black Terry Jr. has highlights of ChilangaMask matches: Epydemius vs Super Mega, Black Terry vs Juana la Loca, and Solar vs Aeroboy.

+LuchaTV has a bad fall for a ninja turtle, highlights of the X-LAW Tag Team championship and Aeroboy & Violento Jack talking about their win.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and this week’s PosterMania.

CMLL has highlights of the 04/25 show.

SuperLuchas looks back at Angel Blanco passing away 29 years ago yesterday and Rey Bucanero & Tarzan Boy taking Damian 666 & Mr. Aguila’s hair yesterday.

Segunda Cadia recaps Atlantis/Dandy/Dragon vs Satanico/MS-1/Pirata Morgan and Lucha Underground episode 24.

A documentary about Bolivian luchador El Ciclon debuts today in Buenos Aires.

06/01 AAA TV Lineup (Nuevo Laredo)

AAA TV (MON) 06/01/2015 Polyforum La Fe, Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas
1) El Elegido, Faby Apache, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Parka Negra, Taya Valkyrie
2) Angélico, Jack Evans, Laredo Kid vs Dark Cuervo, Dark Scoria, Mocho Cota Jr.
3) Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs El Mesías, Electroshock, Pentagón Jr.
4) Blue Demon Jr., La Parka, Myzteziz vs Averno, Chessman, Cibernético
5) El Patrón Alberto & Fénix vs Brian Cage & Texano Jr.

Air Date: 06/13.

Almost the exact same talent list as the show two days prior, with only locals Laredo Kid & Mocho Cota different. This card was posted by Cantu promotions, who uses those two regularly on their Nuevo Laredo AAA shows. This would be Laredo Kid’s first TV appearance since 2011; he’d been in AAA for about six years but was allegedly fired for working on a show across the border with CMLL wrestlers. This probably doesn’t tell us a lot about Laredo’s status with WWE, since AAA also have used Eita and Flamita when they were imminently headed to other places.

Mocho Cota Jr. is believed to be ex-Tigre Cota (it’s his picture they’re using on local posters, neither he or Laredo is on this one) and was last in AAA as part of the Milicia in 2012, disappearing when they dropped that group. Like Laredo, his inclusion here is probably a deal thru the local promoters.

Alberto/Cage didn’t happen in Reynosa, did happen here. Hellbrothers were split among two matches on last week’s show, are together here. Opener is exactly the same people, and the segunda is only changed by those locals being included. Both shows appear to be one week tapings, and maybe they’ll try to mix it up a bit by choosing a unaired match for each show.

The current schedule would mean Verano de Escandalo would air within five days of taking place, which is quicker than usual for a major show of late. Maybe something with the World Cup bumps everything back a little bit, maybe a unlisted dark match ends up on TV to stretch one of these shows a second week

Next taping is unofficially 06/15 in Monterrey, if Copetes can be trusted.
