Faby diving headscissors

Faby Apache & Pimpinela Escarlata vs Mamba & Taya Valkyrie: [OK] crowd was into it but the match didn’t flow well to me. The ruda section was uneventful and things went randomly back and forth after that. Mamba is someone who appears to have good fashion taste, but the outfit she wore here was not so good. Shoulder pads only work if you’re a Space Cadet. Mamba’s top rope senton con giro wasn’t close to actually hitting even before Pimpi moved, but maybe that was more a Pimpi issue.

Australian Suicide & Bengala vs Daga & Joe Lider: [OK] I expected this to be better too, and parts of it were pretty good, but neither side came along as a team and it drifted into a hardcore match I wasn’t interested in. Lider stapling Bengala randomly during the rudos section and Piero not even trying to stop him was something. Not sure what Suicide’s SSP was supposed to hit – if Lider didn’t catch it (too late) into a cutter, Suicide would’ve just belly flopped on the mat. Crowd and announcers didn’t react to that spot much, or the big ending tease. Fans made some noise but didn’t seem that interested in this random assortment of people having a match for no reason. Thumbtack spots expanding to guys beyond Joe Lider is depressing. Lider took the first bump, but Suicide and Daga got it nearly as bad. Daga did look OK in coming back after a long time off with injury and his sequences with Bengala were teases of a better match than this.

Myzteziz tornillo

Myzteziz vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo: (review written a month ago) [excellent] just a superb brawl, probably the best thing Perro Aguayo’s done in this run in AAA, the best build for TripleMania and a match that would not happen in any other major promotion. This was a thing, a thing that was more than the sum of it’s parts. If I wrote down all the moves, it’s still miss the feel. Perro’s been bloody before (and clearly was going to be again when he showed up in a white shirt), but even the crazy blood stunts he’d one before don’t match ones where he’s wiping blood on fans during the match. Perro appeared to get edited out when he was near the announcers, and I can’t imagine what was cut out given what was left in. Crowd was totally into Perro even before the ultraviolence, with Myzteziz only seeming to win them back when he stopped brawling. Myzteziz should’ve also won them back with the insane backwards plunge to the table on the floor. That looks spectacular, as did the dry wall breaking. The fight after the match was good too. I didn’t like the finish – it’s tough buying anything as a DQ after the previous ten minutes – and I don’t want to see a lot of this but this one was definitely OK.
