Astral, Shockercito, Stukita vs Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito: [good] Another good CMLL minis match. They’re starting to blend together at this point, and they could use a feud or some other change to get a specific focus for a few weeks. They did switch a few things up, with people being cut off in the second fall at unexpected times. Stukita remains a joy to watch, with a lot of little touches that make him different. Everyone liked the double pin finish today. Mercurio tornillo was nice.
Marcela, Princesa Sugehit, Skadi vs Amapola, Dalys, Zeuxis: [ok] could argue higher – this was well worked but also also very forgettable Tuesday fare in front of an uninterested crowd. (Dalys yelling so much worked well because at least there was some noise.) Skadi looked better than usual with Zeuxis all match and Skadi paid her back by taking the Spanish Fly to the floor. What if they found the one person who can work with Skadi and then she broke her ankle? The really big botch of the match happened with Sugehit missing on La Mistica of all things. Amapola and Marcela looked good in their time together but it was more about the others.
Blue Panther, Blue Panther Jr., The Panther vs Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado: [good] another borderline match; the matches are all accomplishing what they intend to do, and they’re having a lot of double pins. There’s more on this show alone than in a normal year (outside of ciberenticos). This was a perfectly fine midcard feud that didn’t need a big match to blow it off and livened up a couple weeks of otherwise unimportant TV. Pierroth continues to stand on the apron while Sagrado & Misterioso do most of the work and that’s great. Also great is The Panther obliterating people with topes.
Dragón Rojo Jr., Stuka Jr., Volador Jr. vs Boby Zavala, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero: [ok] another match that was at least what it should’ve been – it wasn’t a standout match, but I didn’t feel defrauded by the effort. The finish was weak and came out of nowhere, but it at least is going anywhere. Gran Guerrero did not stick out as bad, so that’s a victory. Zavala looks good, probably won’t make it to the top of if Dragon Rojo kills him with the top rope double stomp. The double stomp is easily the scariest move in this promotion even when it’s not meant to be.
Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Virus: [good] pretty good lightning match which only makes you wish they didn’t have the artificial time limit and could just go for much longer. Time flew by on this, and the shot of the match being 7 minutes in was sad because it meant it would be ever really soon. Virus has done that dropkick to the face requiring the victim to take a weird bump, and Maya took the best weird bump. There was the one slip on the ropes spot that stuck out, but they got it back going afterwards and maneuvered around back to the same spot with enough space in between that it didn’t feel like a redo on the first try. Sacrifica Maya looked really good.
