Drastik Boy’s entrance

Dinastía, Drastik Boy, Octagoncito vs Arez, Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Psycho Clown: [good] another really strong opener, which is the pattern for the year. Drastik and Arez were treated like they belonged and mostly faced established people (thought they did attempt to forearm each other’s heads off when they finally met.) Arez is a bit too tall to be a mini, but worked well with Dinastía on a few different occasions, including the finish. All the established minis looked good. Mini Abismo has a bigger presence than Mini Psycho but they both worked well with the rudos. Octagoncito seemed to get fouled on his own moonsault, which had to suck.

THEY CAN HEAR THE HORSE TALK TOO

Psycho Clown vs Zorro, Electroshock, Dark Cuervo in a AAA’s Rey de Reyes Tournament match and in a tournament semifinal match: [ok, but more of an angle then a match] boring 3 on 1 handicap match until the rudos turned on each other for no apparent reason. You can skip until 3 minutes after the break and not miss anything that matters or much that’s even interesting. Crowd was way into Psycho Clown but the beatdown went way too long for TV. The set up to Electroshock’s DQ was very weird, and it was played up as if Maya was playing by his own DQ rules as if to explain why a chair shot is not normally a DQ. The Mystery Man was back to not showing his face at all. Parka Negra versus Mesías was actually better than Zorro vs Psycho Clown, but the crowd was more into Psycho Clown.

ouch

Cuervo getting new gear seems like a poor investment, but I appreciate the effort. Electroshock’s new outfit looks nice. Interesting parts of this match were things not of the match: the front row fans could also apparently hear Zorro’s horse talk, but we weren’t allowed to hear one of the crowd chants.

going well for Jack until he has to deal with Cibernetico

Blue Demon Jr., Jack Evans, La Parka vs Averno, Chessman, Cibernético: [ok] Standard AAA main event. La Parka & Blue Demon being in the same trio is iffy, because it exposes how secretly similar they are (relying on Chessman and Averno to do a lot of their fancy headscissors for them.) Jack looked good and I really want to see him versus Averno in a singles match at some point, but he ended up with one of the worst bruises I’ve ever seen during this match. Finish was so contrived and ugly looking and still the live crowd was into it. Back to back matches where the winner immediately got beat up was not so great.
