CMLL Titanes del Ring: 2015-02-14

recap

taped 2015-02-08 @ Arena México

It’s possible I messed up the aspect ratio on all of these

Fuego’s among the best at taking that.

Fuego (CMLL), Pegasso, Stuka Jr. vs Comandante Pierroth, Misterioso Jr. (CMLL), Sagrado: [ok] A regular match, surprisingly so given the occasional. The only moment different than usual was the triple dive (and Pierroth seemingly accidentally catching Pegasso because he couldn’t have been in that position on purpose.) They got a little more time but it felt like a slower match. Comando Boricua weren’t much interesting on offense or selling. Interesting that big crowds remain rudo crowd; they were booing Stuka for beating Pierroth of all people.

Delta, Dragon Lee (CMLL), Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Kamaitachi, Puma (CMLL), Virus: [good] The one attempt to build up an ongoing feud for the big audience actually went pretty well. Dragon Lee and Kamaitachi looked great, and this was easily the best match among the CMLL only portion of the show. Kamaitachi’s first ramp running dropkick should’ve been the finish, for all time. That looked superb. Kamaiatchi was away from his corner and not parcipating for a while, which seemed like he was hurt, but he was back to craziness by the end. The other four were also pretty good, with Guerrero Maya in particular mixing well with old rival Virus and making Puma’s superkicks spots look good. He might have also broken his distance record on the tope con giro, reaching row four.

Marco Corleone, Máximo, Valiente vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Ephesto, Mephisto: [OK] Crowd was into the técnicos here, a surprise given how they were treating others. Maybe the boos were just out powered by the screams. Pretty much just a showcase for Máximo and Marco with others filling time in a short match. The crowd was happy with what they got. This was a match so casual that Ephesto forgot to actually pin Máximo in the second fall, and then the técnicos all forgot who was the captain.
