Maximo tope

Máximo vs Rey Bucanero in a lightning match: [ok] almost a nothing match, with tournament lucha like willingness to just blow thru things to get to the next spot. Bucanero not selling Maximo’s double springboard butt bump – often a finisher – to pop up and clothesline him, only to slow the match down with a chinlock anyway was just weird. He could’ve just old the move and accomplished the same time killing break, especially since Máximo went right back on offense after the chinlock. Finish did nothing for the match.

that’s probably not the best way to go over

Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero: [ok] edited into a short match, with really the third fall chaos being the best part. There’s some good parts earlier, but they edited out whatever turned around the match (too busy showing replays) and left Vailente’s botches in the third fall in. No logic in other things being edited out and his two botches not being out. It was scary when he went for the Valiente Special Announcers are silly when they yell Místico is “totally recovered!”, but he’s looking better a month in than he did in his first match back, which was to be expected. The last few months of Ultimo Guerrero winning all the time have led to Ultimo Guerrero losing to La Mistica in every single match.

Casas wins striking battle!

Negro Casas & Shocker © vs La Máscara & La Sombra for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship: [great] This one also set out to do what it wanted to accomplish, but did it at a much higher level. Sombra was great, Shocker had a better night than other tag title matches, Negro Casas is Negro Casas and Mascara was a better rudo than usual. All three falls were good, there was pretty good back and forth in the third fall, and a good mix of different styles. This was not as good as it would’ve been with Rush involved, but this was about as good as it’s going to get with these four particular guys. Finish would’ve been a perfect way for the Ingobernables to win this feud – Máscara winning 1 on 2 thanks to Sombra’s massive cheating – but Mascara had his mask loose for about half the match and there was only one way that would end.
