CaraLucha, Dragon Lee/Virus, CMLL weekend results

CMLL (FRI) 03/27/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) El Piraña b Explosivo
Explosivo was hurt and needed medical help
2) Demonio Rojo & Relampago b El Tapatío & Meteoro
3) Metatrón & Virgo DQ Pitbull I & Pitbull II
Pitbulls unmasked Metatron for the DQ.
4) Esfinge, Gallo, Magnum b Great Eku, Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno
5) Sádico L Omar Brunetti, Pepe Aguayo, Javier Cruz Jr., Jocker, Maléfico, Leo, Évola [hair, cage]
Everyone in for five minutes. Match came down to Omar, Saidco and Jocker, with Omar escapring and leaving a rudo vs rudo match to everyone’s surprise. Jocker used a piledriver variant to beat Sadico and take his hair.

Pepe Aguayo didn’t figure into the finish.

CMLL (SAT) 03/28/2015 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Leono DQ Cholo
Cholo fouled Leono
2) Akuma b Robin
3) Metálico b Soberano Jr.
4) Nitro b Star Jr.
5) Arkángel de la Muerte b Tritón
A Reyna Isis distraction set up the win.
6) Blue Panther Jr. & The Panther b Sangre Azteca & Tiger
7) Misterioso Jr., Ripper, Sagrado b Ángel de Oro, Fuego, Mistico
Ripper pulled Mistico’s mask and cradled him for the win.

The Sabado Retros shows do not have intro music for the wrestlers. It doesn’t even look like they have the speakers next to the entrance door as they did before, but they still have the small end tables where the speakers sat before. Ripper attacked Mistico prior to the match and gave him a face smash into one of those tables. It doesn’t amount to much, but it struck me as weird after CMLL made sure to say they don’t allow weapon usage in their matches this past week.

Slow motion clip of Star Jr. doing a moonsault on that show.

CMLL (SUN) 03/29/2015 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Robin & Sensei b Apocalipsis & Camorra
2) Acero, Shockercito, Último Dragoncito DQ Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Universo 2000
Nitro fouled Shockercito
3) Goya Kong, Marcela, Syuri b Dalys, La Comandante, Tiffany
4) Dragón Rojo Jr., Star Jr., Stuka Jr. b Kráneo, Niebla Roja, Virus
Niebla Roja replaced Virus on Monday, but then Virus ended up in the match instead of Hechicero. Star Jr. replaced Dragon Rojo Jr. Dragon Lee beat Virus again and demanded a title shot. Virus gave in.
5) La Máscara, Titán, Volador Jr. b Ephesto, Gran Guerrero, Mephisto
Gran Guerrero replaced Barbaro Cavernario. Volador and La Mascara turned on each other for the 50th time, but won anyway.
6) Mistico b Negro Casas
Mistico took the first with a huracanrana, Casas took second with a STF, and Mistico surprised him in the third with a cavernaria. Casas endorsed Mistico after the match.

Casas has endorsed more young luchadors than a newspaper on election day at this point.

The Volador/Mascara stuff is the peak of CMLL running in place for the about six months. It won’t be a great singles match and I’m sure it won’t advance anything, but they can’t even be bothered to run it.

CaraLucha (SUN) 03/29/2015 Arena San Juan Pantitlan, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal [Estrellas del Ring, TerceraCaida]
1) Terremoto Negro & Tornado b La Roca & Toro Negro Jr.
2) Sky Man b Rayo Star
Sky Star vs Sky Star. They went to a DCOR in the third fall, but the fans wanted another fall and the promotion said okay. SKy Man won with Spanish Fly. Great match. Perro Aguayo Jr. was honored after the match.
3) Leo, Mike, Rafy, Teelo b Andy Boy, Chica Ye-Ye, Demasiado, Toxin Boy
4) Danger b Impulso
Danger got some help from Guerrero Mixitco, which lead to a hair match challenge. Somehow, this enveloped all of La Resistanca, Neza Kings, Sky Star, Indystrongtibles, and Kriminal Boys in a cage match for the next show.
5) Eterno, Trauma I, Trauma II DQ La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush
Team Indy took falls 2/3, the last when Trauma I fouled Rush and Rush took Trauma I’s mask, but referee Rafael el Maya only saw the mask pull and gave the indies the win. Ingobernables didn’t care, as is their style.

It didn’t occur to me until just now how weird it is to have a CMLL vs Indy match refereed by an AAA referee. That is very weird!

Ovett lost his hair to Pesadilla in DTU’s show at Arena NezaSlayer Pack & Black Fire kept the DTU titles over Los Gemelos Fantasticos.

Sucii Love lost her mask to Lady Jaguar in Arena Femenil Monterrey.

Rey Cometa announced he’s going to be out five to six more months after knee surgery. He wrestled on that at the end of that FantasticaMania tour, including the big match with Cavernario. He’d be back just before the Anniversary show if everything goes right

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update from Saturday.

+LuchaTV has highlights of Violento Jack & Aero Boy vs Crazy Boy & Pesadilla vs the Vipers, Dinastia Crazy vs Neza Kings, a five way from that DTU show, the three way tag match, Los Nerds vs Los Indystrongtibles and the two title matches: Greshman/Drastick and Paranoinko/Mega/Demente Xtreme

Fuego en el Ring had Torito on as a taped guest.

Super Libre reviewed recent Guadalajara shows.

Star Fire says she’s heading back to Japan for six months at some point in the near future.

One legged luchador Abogado del Diablo won a title match. Rey Cometa clearly a slacker.

El Universal has a story about business continuing on out in front of Arena Coliseo Guadalajara.

SuperLuchas looks back at shows on March 28, 2003.

CMLL (SAT) 04/04/2015 Arena Coliseo
Arena Coliseo 73rd Anniversary
1) Bengala vs Súper Comando
2) Flyer vs Canelo Casas
3) Súper Halcón Jr. vs Nitro
4) Syuri vs Dalys
5) Delta & Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Pólvora & Vangellys
6) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero vs Stuka Jr., Titán, Valiente
7) Mistico vs Ripper

To say this is not the level of anniversary shows of the past is an understatement.

CMLL (SUN) 04/05/2015 Arena México
1) Magnus & Molotov vs Akuma & Espanto Jr.
2) Acero, Astral, Shockercito vs Mercurio, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Olímpico
3) Dark Angel, Skadi, Syuri vs Dalys, La Seductora, Tiffany
4) Ángel de Oro, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Kamaitachi, Pólvora, Rey Escorpión
5) Virus © vs Dragon Lee [CMLL SL]
Virus’ ninth defense.
6) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas vs Máximo, Titán, Volador Jr.

He’s back! He was also exactly right about being back in early April, though he was saying he’d have a meeting around then. Maybe he already did. It’s an 80 day time out this time. This at least Mr. Niebla’s fourth chance since the last time he was fired, maybe this will be the time it just works out. Maybe he’s just back long enough to lose the trios titles.

Virus match isn’t airing until the 11th. I’m doubtful I’ll be able to get it. I wrote that right here and still expect to be asked about this 8 times in the next two weeks. Virus is the underdog in that match, since Lee’s on the ascendancy, it’s his second chance in a short amount of time, and they could get more Kamaitachi/Dragon Lee matches out of a title change.

Syuri wrestled today, and is on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s shows. Probably doing Informa on Wednesday too, FWIW. That’s a heavy schedule for anyone. Japanese women’s wrestlers don’t seem to wrestle that frequently (probably more because the lack of shows than any other reason.) Hope she makes it.
