LOOK AT THAT SHIRT

recap

taped 2015-01-18 @ Auditorio de Santo Tomas Chiconautla, Ecatepec, Estado de México

Magnifico doing the Hart Attack will always be great

Brujo Maya, Hijo De Villano III, Villano III Jr. vs Corsario Negro Jr., Magnifico, Ojo de Tigre Jr.: [OK] the random young guys on the undercards of these shows are always going to be more interesting than the guys at the end (who are their ends) because we get to learn about new people. The Villanos have potential, but they’re also really green when they’re not on offense or when things go wrong. It might be better for them not to be on TV yet, but it’s 2015 so they’re on TV. I haven’t seen much of Ojo de Tigre Jr. outside of an odd IWRG appearance but he looked interesting here. Really, all the rudos looked much more solid than all the técnicos. Magnifico did the Hart Attack clothesline, but shockingly did not use the sharpshooter for the win.

wrestling

Canek, Heavy Metal, Villano III vs Máscara Año 2000, Mr. Jack, Shu el Guerrero: [terrible] That’s the new lowest grade. This is the lowest grade. I guess the best thing you have to say for this is they only attempted the things they could actually do. They just couldn’t actually attempt more than punching and kicking lamely so it was a lot of that, but they weren’t blowing moves. I watched the first fall multiple times to get some idea of what the finish was and I’m still not sure. I’m pretty sure it was terrible. The second fall finish was pretty terrible and I could actually tell what’s going on. Third fall finish involved a lot of people walking around to set up a lame friendly fire senton from jack on Shu. Canek’s offense was mostly centered on him falling down and someone else taking a bump. Heavy Metal periodically tries to have a real match but is in the wrong place for this. Villano III wearing his mask as to not look like an old man is hilarious when every step he takes makes him look like an old man.
