senton con giro to the wind

Australian Suicide & Ivelisse Vélez vs Dark Cuervo & Sexy Star: [ok] The wind was really noticeable in this match, to the point where I thought it explained last week’s show, but then these four were onto having a pretty good match until the abrupt ending. Ivelisse looked good, even if Sexy Star wasn’t always the best opponent for her. Cuervo had a good match, but stopped existing the moment Pentagon Jr. came onto the screen. Suicide got in some fun stuff. The only problem was the lack of a finish; they just did the post match beatdown before the post match this time.

Aerostar vs Súper Fly: [good, if frustrating] The minis comeback to work as seconds, only to be taken out in the brawl – and replaced by another pair of seconds. It was a fake seconds finish! Super Fly and Aerostar don’t get to fight one on one much due to all the shenanigans, but it is a really heated brawl with entertaining moments. It’s a bloody match. AAA has the most obviously blading spots of any promotion in the world. The only upside is it’s Hijo del Tirantes, and he’d totally allow someone to cut their opponent with a blade at this point. Aerostar got to get in all his big spots, less so for Super Fly. Octagoncito appeared to save his big top con giro for this run in. Zuniga explained the inexplicable Cuervo run-in as lingering anger over when Faby Apache broke up with him – but Faby teamed with Drago, not Aerostar. Nice try anyway. (No real try on Fenix.)

Fénix & Myzteziz vs Joe Lider & Pentagón Jr.: [ok] This turned into a Joe Lider match, as matches with Joe Lider tend to be. It lacked the contrived table spot, but it did have plenty of chairs, thumbtacks, and one garbage can. It flipped back into a crazy move match by the end, but there was a long garbage portion in the middle and it hurt the match for me. Early, Fenix’s handspring cutter was timed very well. Going from that to Myzteziz doing a flying clothesline was a big switch. Myzteziz being more concerned with the left over thumbtacks than Pentagon was amusing, as was Joe Lider realizing he could not possibly do the super long missile dropkick to the trash can spot he set up. (He could’ve just not done it to get a reaction, but the guy who uses thumbtacks that often doesn’t seem that subtle.) Pentagon/Myzteziz came off as the biggest rivalry and Pentagon looked strong with the win. The earlier matches in this build up were better.
