Vaquerita tope con giro into a Grinch

Dark Angel, La Vaquerita, Marcela vs Amapola, Dalys, La Seductora: [OK] Fine women’s match for the time, but they didn’t get much time and this was really edited down. It felt like Vaquerita was barely in this match. This was one of those matches where I’m completely confused as to when the momentum changed, then realize Fox edited it out. (Twice) Dalys had the green part of the Grinch outfit down, but needed to be more furry – she looked more like she was doing some odd Jolly Green Giant cosplay. Her wrestling looked awkward as well. If the Dalys/Estrelita thing was an angle, they haven’t followed up on it at all – which actually doesn’t disprove it.

La Máscara, La Sombra, Marco Corleone vs Euforia, Thunder, Último Guerrero: [OK] Announcers were pushing this as rudos vs rudos, but – after the prematch attack – the Ingobernables were playing more técnico than they have in this feud. More charming rouges than straight técnicos, and generally easier to do without Rush around, but it’s different than they’ve played this out. It made for a slightly different feel than the other two dozen versions of this match in the last few months, though it’s still nothing you need to see. Second fall had a really unnecessarily long build up to the finish, while the third fall seemed to be random.

Shocker targets the strongest member of the team

Atlantis, Máximo, Volador Jr. vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible: [OK] two fall match with the rudos working together to annoy Volador and help Bucanero. Routine match in between that, and we’ve seen a lot of these guys routines of late. Crowd doesn’t seem as into this feud as they are just for Volador, which I guess is close enough.

Cavernario clothesline

Dragon Rojo Jr. vs Barbaro Cavernario: [GOOD] Dragon Rojo goes big spot versus big spot with the caveman, and manages not to get blown away. Cavernario being good at taking Dragon Rojo’s diving headscissors helps, but this seems like a match where Rojo would be outgunned and he was keeping up with the new sensation. It really worked as a shorter version of some of the En Busca matches; dragon Rojo is not Hechicero, but he wouldn’t have been last with this performance. The result really came off as notable upset, even if Cavernario had to blatantly cheat to pull it off.
