box. It’s after the jump too.

First of two shows in Toluca. They’ll probably have a preview Friday, but today is still Thurday. Fenix, Myzteziz, Psycho Clown vs Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Hijo del Fatnasma, Pentagon Jr. was the main event on the taping and might be the main event of the first show.

Open Mic Night

Tensions rise when a new luchador is welcomed into Cueto’s temple; the newcomer promises that he will reign supreme.

TV listings have different titles than the El Rey site. Dunno. Fenix/Argenis, Son of Havoc/Johnny Mundo and Ricky Mendall/Pentagon Jr. were taped for this show, but there’s one more guy showing up at the end. You already know who he is.

== CMLL ==

FOX2: Maximo vs Terrible! Mistico, Valiente, and Volador Jr., a trio in search of a name, versus the Guerreros.

Azteca: Maximo, Mistico, Volador Jr. vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Ultimo Guerrero & Valiente/Kamatachi

52MX: Euforia, Felino, UG vs Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. as the Felino/Valiente feud begins. Cavernario/Terrible/Aguila vs Delta/Maya/Cometa is Rey Cometa’s last match for now.

Claro: The Sunday show that didn’t air – except Hechicero/Stuka is on the YouTube channel and that’s probably the one you wanted to see anyway.

C3: Dragon Rojo vs Niebla Roja + Cavernaro/GG/Terrible vs Delta/Maya/Mascara. Maybe five matches, maybe not.

Terra Sunday: I don’t think it’s airing. I know I won’t be recording this.

== IWRG ==

IWRG (LAS/AYM): Ninja Turtles vs Terry/Cerebro/Cerbero/Pantera. The missing matches from Sunday did eventually turn up in reruns. That Tuesday overnight airing just happens to be the first one, but they’ve been rerunning the show on AYM about a half dozen times during the week.

Felino/Valiente, All Elite press conference featuring Volador and UG sniping,

CMLL (TUE) 02/03/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) Évola & Ráfaga b Meteoro & Reycko
Rudos took 2/3
2) Furia Roja, Hijo del Signo, Metálico b Frezzer, Magnus, Robin
3) Dragon Lee, Esfinge, Stigma b Cancerbero, Okumura, Raziel
Tecnicos took 2/3.
4) Kráneo, Rey Bucanero, Thunder b Blue Panther, Super Porky, Titán
Rudos took 1/3
5) Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. DQ Euforia, Felino, Último Guerrero
Tecnicos took 2/3, Felino (replacing Negro Casas again) fouling Valiente for the DQ.

It seems like they’re doing Felino/Valiente because Casas is hurt, which is disappointing. Maybe Felino will decide to be great again for a big singles match.

All Elite held another press conference yesterday. It reads like it got testy. (There’s video here too, I’ve only gotten to read the text so far) Volador Jr. showed up late and Ultimo Guerrero took a shot at him, saying CMLL should punish those who show up late and the difference between stars and superstars is superstars show up on time. Volador replied that Ultimo Guerrero can’t actually be a superstar, since Volador is the one who’s actually in the All Elite main event. Guerrero sarcastically replied that he’d try to get himself in the main events in the future. Guerrero moved on to talk about how he’s happy to be with Fuerza Guerrera again (who employed UG early in his career and gave him money for food) and he’d like to face LA Park, then ended up thanking the media and walking off before the press conference ended. Volador taunted Ultimo Guerrero as he left, sarcastically calling him Juan Diego. (This saint Juan Diego, I’m guessing.) Volador told the press it was great to team with LA Park, called CMLL the best company in the world, but was happy to mix with All Elite so the shows wouldn’t all be just the Guerreros. Volador later claimed he arrived late because he just got back from Guadalajara. Ultimo Guerrero was on also in Guadalajara. Ultimo Guerrero and Volador are not currently feuding, at least in the ring.

Extreme Tiger was also there, may not have gotten a word in. It reads like Dr. Wagner was scheduled to be there, but he didn’t turn up. In another interview actually building up matches on the show, Volador Jr. felt he and uncle LA Park had the advantage because they were united and Sombra & Wagner were not.

The All Elite promoters were asked if their show would be airing on Terra, but they did not know. Alfredo left a comment asking the same question for CMLL Informa, but it was not asked. Terra does not have a preview for the show up last I checked, which usually means no show is airing on Terra. I think the show is not airing on Terra! I am not sure about that at all, and I’m curious what airs on Claro Sports next weekend at any rate.

AAA’s preview of the Queretaro taping hypes Brian Cage based on his current feud with Prince Puma & Konnan. I wonder how many people in Mexico actually follow what’s going on in Lucha Underground given it’s not airing in Mexico. (It doesn’t feel like enough people in the US know what’s going on in Lucha Underground either.) There’s an audio preview of the show here.

CMLL Informa didn’t have much as the way of news, though they continued the tease for Volador/Maximo vs Terrible/Bucanero and showcased off Luciferno. CMLL Informa might as well be an audio podcast most weeks – it’s just people sitting in front of microphones, maybe the microphones could be positioned better if they were not doing video – but this week did get to show off Luicferno’s outfit and the highlights of last week’s title match. The Mephisto, Epheisto, Luciferno trio is now Los Hijos del Infierno; they mentioned the name in Tuesday’s recap and said it many times on this show. Hopefully this means someone made Ephesto a new shirt.

El Rey’s website has titles for the Lucha Undergrond episodes this month. Mild spoilers follow

02/11 (ep14): “A Shot of El Patron”
02/18 (ep15): “Eye for An Eye”
02/25 (ep16): “Caged Animals”

Not sure these are all final. Last night’s show is listed as “Johnny Mundo vs the Machine” but is “Unexpected Visitors” on TV listing guides.

CMLL has a teaser for Dos Leyendas which includes lots of clips of people who won’t be on the show and one for Sabado Retro.

Astral, talking about his life, mentions he does not know his birth mom. He was given to his grandmother (on his father’s side) early in his life and has never met his mother but hopes to do so someday. The Astral name comes from a nickname a friend gave him when he was young.

Today’s the 31st Anniversary of El Santo’s passing. A mass was held for him today at noon.

Lineups

IWRG (SUN) 02/08/2015 Arena Naucalpan
1) Alfa & Seiya vs Anubis Black & Atomic Star
2) Dark Lady, Hahastari, La Sádica vs Black Fury, Cristal, Kamilión
3) Leo, Mike, Rafy, Teelo vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Pantera I
4) Hijo De Dos Caras, Relámpago, Veneno vs Canis Lupus, Eterno, X-Fly
5) Chicano & Danny Casas vs Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 & Universo 2000 Jr.

Didn’t include this yesterday. Ninja Turtles are facing tougher competition, but the notable thing is Cerebro Negro making his return to Arena Naucalpan after 18 months. I can’t remember if there was ever a reason he left – it’s usually an issue with working somewhere else – but it reunites the excellent Terry/Cerbero/Cerbero trio for at least one match.

By the way, AULL is teasing an AULL Ninja Turtles vs IWRG Ninja Turtles match later this month.
