Gym FILL (Black Terry) vs Gym Metropolitano (Super Pinocho). Match ended with Metaleon losing to Super Pinocho 3000 by DQ.

Metaleon is usually a tecnico, so I’m wondering if maybe the finish was actually Super Pinocho 3000 throwing his mask to Metaleon to draw the DQ. It’s not explained that way.

Black Terry Jr. took advantage of it being a trainee show to try out the Phantom Cam a bit more: a tope by Arana de Plata, a dropkick to the face (which might explain the red marks on the mask above), an Asai moonsault, a slingshot tope con giro, and a moonsault.

CMLL Informa had Goya Kong, Zeuxis, Canelo Casas and Starman on for interviews. The last two was to push their Sabado Retros match. It appeared to be an irrelevant match, but they were available. The Mascara Dorada news was mentioned briefly in the news section, with both JCR and Miguel explaining it as if Mascara Dorada was just going on a very long tour of Japan (a 365 day one) and Dorada was still 100% CMLL.

They also announced El Faraon would be the legend honored by Dos Leyendas. My sense of things is this is a drop down in star power from Cien Caras last year, but Faraon seems to be a well remembered favorite. I wonder if they’ll debut a new Hijo del Faraon.

CMLL’s official news source couldn’t find a way to interview anyone from FantasticaMania, though Triton was doing radio interviews yesterday. Triton was very distraught about being injured on the first day of the tour, was happy to be able to continue, and he would’ve liked to be in Japan even longer. CMLL is my favorite AAA promotion.

Today’s CMLL.com news update hypes Mistico, saying the accident changed his outlook on life in a positive way. It also says Mistico is “spiritually and psychically 100%”. He didn’t look 100% in Japan. If that’s his new 100% level, we’re all in trouble. They also still seem to think Mistico’s going after Mascara Dorada for the title.

This week’s WON mentioned Jim Ross is no longer in consideration to be an Lucha Underground announcer or do an English language announcer for TripleMania. It’s not clear what happened, it’s just not happening. We still don’t know if there will be any English language AAA broadcast, but I would guess it’d be some combination of Striker, Vampiro and Hugo doing it.

Psycho Clown vs Texano Jr. won AAA’s Match of The Year.

Demus & Pierrothito promo for their CaraLuchas match against Suicida & Freelance.

Voices of Wrestling has a review of the 01/11 Terra show with Maximo/Casas.

There’s an Canis Lupus/Guerrero Mixitico feud going on in Arena Aficion.

Electro, the Morelos middleweight champion, became the Morelos light heavyweight champion (and gave up the lesser weight title.)

  1. If AAA gets on PPV, I assume they would not only be required to have English commentary, but required to make it primarily in English with Spanish on the SAP.

It should be the other way with Spanish commentary plus English on SAP.
