Super Fly frog splash

Aerostar & Australian Suicide vs Pentagón Jr. & Súper Fly: [OK] Strong build to the Super Fly/Aerostar mask match, with the crowd getting into the mask pulling. I liked this match, but it was all over the place. They had the theme of the feuds, but the momentum would randomly shift back and forth for no obvious reason. It felt like the técnicos had about three starts to the comeback which just stopped and then it just was in the process of happening. Ultimately, the referee decided it all, but they did put the spotlight on Aerostar and Super Fly with Suicide & Pentagon fading into the background a bit. Amusing but unsurprising to see the rudos pull down Aerostar’s top to show no burn marks after they lit him on fire not too long ago. We probably should’ve seen something on his arms anyway.

Fénix & Myzteziz vs Angélico & Jack Evans and Robbie E & Zema Ion: [OK] If I write “good”, it’s a slight recommendation and that finish was too absurd to recommend. Even past the exact finish, it felt like the run-in came too early and they only go to do 2/3rds of the match. Angelico setting up for a (interrupted) crucifix powerbomb was the first moment where it seemed like someone might actually win that thing, and these guys should be good for quite a few false finishes. Instead, the team that’s never ever coming back to TV gets a win to set up a match they won’t be involved in and it’s the second straight TV match where a rudo referee has a heavy role in the finish. The rest of the match was good; it was obviously designed to get Myzteziz and Fenix over as a new ho tag team (and very obviously designed in general) and they did enough together to make it believable. Would’ve avoided the one guy dives into another spot so early though. Angelico & Jack are good even if they didn’t seem to get fully used in this match and the TNA guys fit in well. Ion’s ability to pull off new absurd haircuts is impressive, and both guys got over as personalities in a move driven match.

Averno eliminated

Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Averno, Chessman, Cibernético:[OK] This one had the flow I was looking for in other matches – Hellbrothers destroyed Psycho Circus, Psycho Circus destroyed Hell Brothers, Hell Brothers took over again, finish – though with less action. Both teams felt like teams and that’s the general point. This was about 8 minutes and exactly as good as it should’ve been. Chessman and Averno being every Cibernético match very much helps Cibernético. This show would’ve been one to take audio from instead of pictures. Pentagon Jr.’s chops and the belt shots here came off really loud. The promos after the match were more memorable than the match.
