top six stories of the last two weeks

  1. AAA returned back to taping after a long break. Their tapings in Mexico City and Tuxtla focused on the final built to this upcoming Sunday’s Guerra de Titanes. Texano Jr. defeated El Patron Alberto in a street fight; despite the debut of Ricardo Rodriguez, Perro Jr. was enough to help champion Texano win before he defends his title against Alberto this weekend. The tag title match between champions Angelico & Jack Evans, Perros del Mal challengers Pentagon Jr. & Joe Lider and Reyes del Aire challengers Myzteziz & Fenix is being pushed as the second biggest match on the show and a title change seems likely there as well. The Hell Brothers continue to feud with the Psycho Circus, but that’s been pushed into the background a bit by Konnan rudely demanding Ciberentico and his crew join La Sociedad by this weekend or else and Cibernetico laughing off the threats. It seems highly unlikely the tweener Hell Brothers are going to join the rudo faction, but it also seems the most likely spot for big faction changing angle (which AAA has done the last few years on this show.) Ivelisse made her debut on these shows. She’s a tecnica here and feuding with ruda Sexy Star, the opposite of their Lucha Underground roles.
  2. The DF taping was surprisingly aired on a free stream with almost no notice. The stream went fine, leading me to believe Guerra de Titanes would be on iPPV. However, it’s Wednesday and there’s no hint of a streaming show, so who knows. The Guerra de Titanes show will air on PPV, and won’t air on TV until sometime in 2015.
  3. CMLL’s Inferino en el Ring is a show that’s happening with not much excitement. It’s a ten man cage match that was hurt a lot by losing it’s most compelling luchador (Rush) due to injury, but the rest of the build has been uninspiring: just a lot of people who simultaneous decided to start challenging for hair matches, and a situation where someone who’s in main events but not treated like a big star (Felino, Rey Bucanero) is expected to lose. This seems to be a test of Ultimo Guerrero’s drawing power. He’s been pushed as the top guy since the Anniversary show, but outside of that mask loss and the two Dia Los Muertos themed shows, Guerrero has not seemed to affect attendances. CMLL compounded the problems by adding nothing of substance to the card, just a bunch of interchangeable trios matches. The cage match should have some highlights – Barbaro Cavernario has built a year off of jumping of high places and a Snuka top of the cage splash seems very likely – but there are already better looking CMLL cards this month.
  4. CMLL and NJPW announced the FantasticaMania tour: Atlantis, Último Guerrero, La Sombra, Volador Jr., Místico, Gran Guerrero, Mr. Niebla, Bárbaro Cavernario, Máscara Dorada, Pólvora, Mephisto, Okumura, Ángel de Oro, Stuka Jr., Rey Cometa, Triton and Stigma. Stigma is a surprise inclusion but he’s the nephew of Black Cat, who’s always honored on this tour, so that may be the rationale. Atlantis vs Ultimo Gurerero and La Sombra vs Volador are expected to take place on the tour, likely the Korakuen Hall shows (which will air live on the NJPWWorld platform.)
  5. Recent Lucha Underground episodes have focused on the Prince Puma/Johnny Mundo/Big Ryck triangle, with Puma apparently choosing not to help Mundo against Ryck and Mundo accidentally hitting Puma with a chair. King Cuerno debuted and is feuding with Drago. Lucha Underground continues to draw in the 15-20K range on El Rey and 180-200K range on Unimas. A couple of the luchadors were guests at the Latin Grammys.
  6. La Mascara was declared Mr. CMLL 2014, winning the annual bodybuilding contest. All 3 Ingobernables – Sombra, Rush and Mascara – are winners of this competition. Many jokes were made about a Brazo winning a bodybuilding contest; Mascara reminded people that his father and uncles were lightweights at the start of their careers and he himself would get fat soon enough. Dark Angel won the women’s competition (now 8 of 9 years; last year’s winner Dalys pulled out and said it was due to health issues.)
  • Rush underwent surgery on his broken leg, and his return date was pushed back to February.
  • Apolo Dantes announced he was no longer in charge of Arena Coliseo Guadalajara. No one’s said what happened or who’s in charge now; CMLL’s not acknowledged any change.
  • CMLL stripped Mistico of the Welterweight Championship, then announced a tournament in late December for the vacant title (by which time Mistico will probably be back.)
  • CMLL Sunday shows have pushed a Soberano Jr. & Star Jr. vs Cholo & Ramstein, which looks to be a quick feud to set up the annual New Years week apuesta match (and where the long time opening match rudos would be expected to lose.)
  • CMLL announced they would be expanding weekly lineup to include “Sabado Popular” shows, which will feature trainees/young luchadors for cheap tickets at Arena Coliseo. The first show will take place 12/20 and a card is expected to be announced shortly. It’s unclear how often these shows will happen and if they’ll be recorded.
  • The most recent ChilangaMask show pushed a CMLL versus Indy feud with a draw in the main event and a brawl.
  • The upcoming Lucha Memes show includes a Negro Navarro & Que Monito versus Black Terry & Zacarias where only submissions or pinfalls by (or including) the mascot count.
  • Mephisto defeated Valiente in a Mexican Light Heavyweight Championship match for the fourth time. Matches have all said to be good.
  • I finally got to see the IWRG Ninja Turtles. There were a spot where they were dropped on their back and could not get up, because they are turtles. That was good.

Dragon Lee vs Virus set, Hechicero/Cavernario vs Maya/Detla, Lucha Underground

CMLL (TUE) 12/02/2014 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Bengala & Leono b Camorra & Espanto Jr.
2) Goya Kong, Marcela, Skadi b Dalys, La Seductora, Zeuxis
Goya replaced Lluvia on Tuesday.
3) Blue Panther Jr., Hombre Bala Jr., Súper Halcón Jr. DQ Puma, Sangre Azteca, Tiger
Hombre Bala & Super Halcon replaced Oro Jr. & the Panther on Tuesday. Tiger pulled Pantehr’s mask for the DQ.
4) Ángel de Oro b Hombre sin Nombre [lightning] (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
mecedora in over 9 minutes.
5) Dragon Lee, Fuego, Valiente b Ephesto, Mephisto, Virus
Dragon Lee took falls 2/3, beating Virus in the last. Dragon Lee demanded a title shot. Virus said he liked challenges and accpeted.
6) Bárbaro Cavernario, Hechicero, Negro Casas b Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Máscara Dorada
Rudos took 2/3, with Barbaro submitting Maya and Hechicero beating Delta. Hechicero said Delta needs to defend his dusty titles (Arena Coliseo) but Maya wanted a rematch first.

They’re finally doing Dragon Lee versus Virus and they’re teasing a great Arena Coliseo tag title match. I’m not sure what’s happening here but suddenly we’re back to Tuesday’s being interesting again.

LuchaWorld has a great interview with Negro Casas about wrestling in Los Angeles, adapting thru his career and about Zacarias’ visa status. Transporting animals internationally is tough.

Tonight’s Lucha Underground preview

Big Ryck signs Cueto’s contract; Son of Havoc calls on Simpinela Escarlata; Johnny Mundo steals Cueto’s key as insurance; Sexy Star and Fenix team up against Chavo Guerrero and Pentagon Jr.

matches taped for this show

  • Pimpinela Escarlata vs Son Of Havoc
  • Mil Muertes vs Famous B (Famous B’s debut, except for that time Chavo laid him out)
  • King Cuerno vs Drago
  • Fénix & Sexy Star vs Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Pentagón Jr.

Lucha Underground has posted teasers of Mundo getting his hands on Cueto and Drago versus Cuerno II. Angela Fong is seen in the last one; perhaps her character is “woman who can’t find her seat.”

The early schedule shows there will be a Lucha Underground marathon on 12/14, with all the episodes airing starting at 11:30am CT that day. The 12/17 show was planned to be the last show before taking a holiday break, but that was the original plan and it’s always possible a change.

Slam! Sports has an interview with Big Ryck about the show. He thought he should work like a big bad guy who hurts people, and that looked like a great call after that forearm last week.

Tercera Caida returns today at 5pm after being off for a couple weeks. +LuchaTV has a lot of highlights of the Ichiban show, including Psycho Circus vs 32 Zombies.

CMLL’s not announced anything for Informa, but it’ll probably be Infierno en el Ring focused.

I was wrong, this card on Sunday with about 80 listed luchadors is Arena Coliseo San Luis Potosi’s last show. Rayo de Plata is listed as the top star. Steel Fox lost his hair there on Sunday.

Terrible says Barbaro Cavernario will have to pay his dues in the cage match. Barbaro Cavernario notes he’s been in cage matches in Guadalajara and the Anniversary show so he’s not nervous about Friday’s match. He doesn’t like Terrible disrespecting him but would prefer to have Blue Panther’s hair.

Black Terry Jr. has video of the finals of the CaraLucha tag team tournament.

BxB Fly has music videos of 09/16 Puebla, 09/16 Guadalajara, and 09/21 Coliseo.

Segunda Caida really liked Ultimo Guerrero & Blue Panther vs Black Terry & Solar and Mistico vs Volador.

CMLL’s highlights of 11/28 indicate it’ll be the lightning match and the top two which make Fox.

Dorian Roldan is listed on Sports Business’ top 20 2014 Sports Innovator list.

LLF has a press conference for the end of the year show, which includes a Lady Jaguar vs Alicia mask vs hair match. LuchaMania Monterrey also has an amusing recap of the Arena Coliseo Monterrey show; that main event was no good.

Angelico talks about Sunday’s tag title match.

Lucha Libre in Japan

12/03 NJPW: Sombra’s team loss the atomicos, that doesn’t matter. Let’s look at the tag team tournament standings for his block

10 Anderson & Gallows - done!
08 Naito & Sombra
08 Tenzan & Kojima
08 Styles & Yujiro

As far as anyone can figure, NJPW’s said only the top team moves on – no semifinals or anything like that. Sombra & Naito beat Styles & Yujiro, beat Tenzan & Kojima but lost to Anderson & Gallows. That means if Sombra & Naito win (vs Dane & Conway), they’re tied for the lead but lose the tie breaker unless one of the other teams win. That’s the most likely outcome: Anderson & Gallows are the tag team champions, so they advance to the final (and probably lose to Shibata/Goto.) Sombra & Naito need a win and either one of the other 8 points teams to also win to force NJPW to come up with a new tiebreaker.

Lineups

CMLL Teleton (SAT) 12/06/2014 Centro de Rehabilitación Infantil Teletón, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal

2) Blue Panther Jr., Dragon Lee, The Panther vs Kamaitachi, Puma, Tiger
3) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Máscara Dorada vs Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero

Benefit show. Panther Jr., Delta and Dragon Lee visited the children’s hospital to promote it.

IWRG (SUN) 12/07/2014 Arena Naucalpan
1) Metaleon vs Araña de Plata
2) Leo, Mike, Rafy, Teelo vs Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, Liderk, Rayan
3) Dr. Cerebro, Emperador Azteca, Negro Navarro vs Chicano, Trauma I, Trauma II
4) Danny Casas & Oficial 911 vs Canis Lupus & Eterno [super libre]
5) Hijo De Dos Caras, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Súper Nova vs Cien Caras Jr., Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Máscara Año 2000
6) Toscano vs Veneno [hair]

Yea, sure, why not. At least they got a cool Toscano photo. I thought Veneno had a chance until I saw that. Oficial AK47 no-showing leading to more Danny Casas is the most rudo thing Oficial AK47 has done in some time.

CMLL (TUE) 12/09/2014 Arena México
1) Aéreo & Angelito vs Mercurio & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Flyer, Magnus, Star Jr. vs Artillero, Metálico, Súper Comando
3) Fuego, Oro Jr., Soberano Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Disturbio, Kamaitachi
4) Blue Panther, Blue Panther Jr., The Panther vs Felino, Puma, Tiger
5) Virus © vs Dragon Lee [CMLL SL]
Virus’ eighth defense.
6) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., La Sombra vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Euforia, Hechicero

Sombra’s getting right off the plane and into the ring, I guess. And for an Arena Coliseo tag title feud! Should be a good match, as pretty much everything on this card should be.

Virus has held this title so long, he defended it against the OTHER Dragon Lee. This one’s better, but Virus will having wins over both would be pretty neat. Dragon Lee’s had a meteoric rise this year and this match is 50/50 to me.

Disturbio makes it all the way to a tercera and Flyer gets good people to work with.

CMLL (TUE) 12/09/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) ? & ?? vs ??? & ????
2) ? & ?? vs ??? & ????
3) Dark Angel vs Amapola, Princesa Sugehit, Tiffany, Lluvia, Zeuxis, La Vaquerita, Dalys [cibernetico]
4) Ángel de Oro, Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr. vs Boby Zavala, Okumura, Vangellys
5) Máscara Dorada, Máximo, Super Porky vs Ephesto, Kráneo, Mephisto
6) Volador Jr. vs Último Guerrero

There will be moves, then kick outs, then breaks in that main event. So many of them.

Very unusual for a CMLL card not to have the undercard. Combine that with the management change and I wonder if we’ll see some new names pop up.

Mephisto beats Valiente again, Sombra winning in Japan

CMLL (SUN) 11/30/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Domingo Familiares CMLL]
1) El Brillante & El Tapatío b El Piraña & Relampago Azul
Originally a Tapatio/Azul singles match.
2) Dr. Frezeer vs Índigo
Indigo replaced El Chacal.
3) Omar Brunetti & Virgo b El Chacal & Furia Nazi
El Chacal replaced Sadico. Omar replaced Leo.
4) Demonio Maya b Exterminador
5) Dragon Lee, Gallo, Máscara Dorada b Jocker, Mr. Águila, Olímpico
Tecnicos took 2/3
6) Euforia b Ángel de Oro
Euforia took 1/3, the last sneaking in a foul.

Euforia beat the champ, will be getting a title shot maybe never. (Why did Euforia win anyway?)

CMLL (MON) 12/01/2014 Arena Puebla [Periodico Enfoque, Periodico Enfoque (fotos)]
1) Asturiano, Black Tiger, Sensei b Artillero, Guerrero Espacial, Súper Comando
2) Lestat, Oro Jr., The Panther b Metálico, Policeman, Toro Bill Jr.
Lestat back from a two year retirement. Pictures show he’s got a new mask.
3) Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado b Ángel de Oro, Stuka Jr., Tigre Rojo Jr.
4) Mephisto © b Valiente [MEX LH]
Great match. Mephisto’s tenth defense, fourth over Valiente. Seconds were Sagrado and Oro Jr.
5) La Máscara, Máximo, Volador Jr. b Bárbaro Cavernario, Negro Casas, Shocker
Maximo won the match (and/or Mascara & Volador didn’t screw it up) by messing with Shocker and Negro Casas.

Lestat being back is a bit suspicious given the type of feuds in this building but he was good fun before and hopefully still is.

Today’s CMLL show has a Barbaro Cavernario, Hechicero, Casas vs Delta, Maya, Dorada main event trios which could be excellent and may continue the Maya/Cavernario feud. The undercard has had some changes (Goya Kong replaces Lluvia and Bala & Halcon replace Oro & The Panther) but still looks good; the hat put together a random nice Tuesday show. Guadalajara has a Rey Cometa/Sagrado match and Euforia/UG/Thunder vs Atlantis/Volador/Maximo

CMLL’s usual Monday changes also switched around Sunday’s Coliseo DF card. Oro replaced Magnus in the segunda, Marcela replaced the injured Estrellita in the women’s match and Sangre Azteca replaced Okumura in the fourth.

La Mascara is top of CMLL’s top 10. Sagrado is #10.

Rob has a music video of 08/05/14 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has this week’s Poste r-Mania and KrisZ’s news update.

Local government officials says AAA will return to Tuxtla Guiterrez in 2015 after the big turnout for the two shows this year.

The Guardian has the latest profile of Cassandro. Amused by the luchadora billed as a 14 year old who’s a 15 year vet. Cassandro says here he plans to wrestle for three to five more years.

Black Terry Jr. has highlights of Hechicero/Cavernario vs Veneno/Negro Navarro from the CaraLuchas show.

Princesa Maya won the LLF title.

Toxin Boy is going to be out three months after doing something dumb that didn’t go viral.

A lucha libre show in California raised money for a 14 year old fighting cancer.

A Texas police officer who used to be an indy lucha libre lucahdor.

Lucha Libre in Japan

12/02 NJPW: Tetsuya Naito & La Sombra [O] b Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI [X] [World 1 TAG]

That’s a CMLL luchador winning a (semi)important main event on a NJPW show, so weird. The win gives Sombra & Naito 8 points, joining two other teams with that total. (They’ve beat once and lost the other, so tie breakers are fairly confusing.) Sombra & Naito are off of the tournament tomorrow – they’ve got an atomicos instead – and have one more match left. I’ll try to figure out possibilities tomorrow.

Lineups

indy (FRI) 12/05/2014 Arena Coliseo San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí
1) Aries, Extreme Power, Gentrix, Mini Star, Super Viento vs Aranita Jr., Dariuz, Lobo Rojo, Mascara Negro, Signo Negro
2) Aero Extreme, Alas De Nagel, Black Tauro, Halcon Potosino, Quijote vs Demonio I, Flaman, Monstruo De Oz, Perro Andre, Tito Zumaya
3) Angel Real, Herdero, Rey Flechador, Super Star Jr., Yedra vs Augila Blanc, Black Ventura, Crazy King, Creazy Power, Mr. T
4) B. Extreme Jr., Black Maravilla, C. Castro, Extreme Fly vs Danys Boy, Galeno, Sr. Dante, Star Boy
5) Bogar, Charly Guerrero, El Divino, Rey Fuego vs Galaxia 79, Mensajero, Tigre Boy, Tigre del Ring
6) Alex Guajardo vs Galaxy (Querétaro), Furia Salvaje, Lince Infernal [? EXTREMO]

Billed as the final ever lucha libre show in the building. Seems odd they’d be bringing in guys from Queretaro for a random title match to close it out, but the undercard stuffed with a million people feels like the end of an era show.

CMLL (MON) 12/08/2014 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano & Meyer vs Disturbio & Inquisidor
2) Lestat, Magnus, Sensei vs Akrón, Hijo del Signo, Policeman
3) Dragon Lee, Stigma, The Panther vs Cancerbero, Hombre sin Nombre, Raziel
4) Dragón Rojo Jr., Máscara Dorada, Volador Jr. vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Pólvora
5) La Máscara, Marco Corleone, Máximo vs Negro Casas, Shocker, Último Guerrero

Maybe Maximo vs Casas or Shocker coming up here? Tercera could be fun though it’s weird looking at that match and knowing Stigma is the only one going to Japan.

DTU (FRI) 12/19/2014 Autolavado VM, Tulancingo, VM
1) ? vs ??
trainees
2) King Lion & Meteoro vs ? & Corazon Latino and Galaxy & Star Boy
3) ? & Kalibus vs Amo de la Noche & Talaxys and Génesis & Principe De La Noche
4) Aero Power, Angel Azul, Ferrari Ultimo Gen vs Hacker & Príncipe Halcón
3 vs 2
5) Vengador vs Artikus, Gremlin, Lanzeloth
6) Black Fire & Slayer Pack vs Joven Maravilla & Maremoto Jr. and Cotty Santiago & Low Rider
7) Drastik Boy vs Rocky Lobo
8) Ángel o Demonio & Paranoiko vs Crazy Boy & Ovett
9) Cíclope, Crazy King, Miedo Extreme vs Aero Boy, Jhonky, Violento Jack
10) Jimmy, Kevin, Tony vs El Chat, El Junior, El Nene [hair]

Main event is the Nerds vs Malkariados hair vs hair match. The poster says there will be only one winner, which doesn’t really explain how many losers there will be. Tag team tournament final is on a nother show apparently.

11/29-11/30 lucha videos

Last week’s C3 and last week’s Leyendas Inmortales are included.

Terra was messed up as semi-usual. Baja has more of the match, HD looks nicer.

Republica Deportiva was pre-empted. We may never find out who won the tournament (that no one is watching.) IWRG and Puebla are still being pre-empted on LAS, but I was able to get IWRG off of AYM.

Veneno/Toscano, LA Park wins in Monterrey

IWRG (SUN) 11/30/2014 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (Flickr), The Gladiatores]
1) Centvrión, Dragón Celestial, Metaleon b Diva Salvaje, Estrella Divina, Miss Gaviota
Centvrion returns (first match here since April) with a win.
2) Leo, Mike, Rafy, Teelo b Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, Danny Casas, Imposible
Another win for the Ninja Turtles.
3) Rayan, Trauma II, Universo 2000 Jr. b Dr. Cerebro, Emperador Azteca, Relámpago
4) Oficial 911 & Oficial AK47 © NC Canis Lupus & Eterno [IWRG IC TAG]
Scheduled to be a rematch for the titles, but Oficial AK47 did not show and match did not occur. Titles were declared vacant.
5) Danny Casas & Oficial 911 DQ Canis Lupus & Eterno
Replacement match. Bloody match with Canis and Eterno going after 911. Danny fouled 911 (circumstances unclear), the referee thought Eterno did it and gave the match to Casas & 911.
6) Chicano, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Veneno b Golden Magic, Súper Nova, Toscano
Veneno and Toscano feuded and bled. Straight falls for the rudos, Toscano beating Veneno.

Trying a different way of illustrating forfeited matches. That finish suggests they still plan to keep the Oficials/Eterno/Lupus feud going, but they probably just did the match they were planning on doing and any rethinking won’t come until later.

Veneno turning on Toscano and beating him in two falls suggests Arena Naucalpan is going to find out how many people will turn out for a Toscano hair match in 2014.

LyC (SUN) 11/30/2014 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [@MrIguana (1), @MrIguana (2), @MrIguana (3), @MrIguana (4), @MrIguana (5)]
1) Chamaco Gurrola & Tequilita b Mini Hator & Pequeno Difunto
2) Kaientai L Halcon Real, Demenzía, Medico Infernal, Memo Valles, Face Man, Gato Fantasma, Aguila Azteca [hair]
Kaietani lost his hair to Medico Infernal.
3) El Ninja, Ninja Jr., Ultimo Ninja b Hijo Del Mongol Chino, Mongol Chino, Mongol Chino Jr.
4) Hijo de LA Park b El Pulpo, Angel Blanco Jr., Silver Star, Temblor, Tigre Universitario, Antifaz del Norte [UMLL CHAMP, #1 Contenders]
Hijo de LA Park beat Antifaz (not originally in the match) to win the title shot at some future day.
5) LA Park b Dr. Wagner Jr., El Hijo del Solitario
Parka beat Solitario with help from Wagner.

This was originally the Mil Mascaras show before plans changed. The Park/Wagner/Solitario match didn’t seem to draw well from the few pictures that have turned up.

Valiente challenges Mephisto for the Mexican Light Heavyweight Championship for the fourth time tonight in Puebla. It seems unlikely he’d finally get the win in Puebla but there’s no reason he can’t.

NJPW launched their njpwworld service earlier this morning for about $9USD. It’s solely NJPW stuff – my CMLL theory didn’t pan out – but there are some luchador matches in NJPW. (Two Solar matches from 1981 sound like good ideas.) The live airings mention the two FantasticaMania Korakuen Hall shows as airing live, and those are usually the big shows of the tournament. The NJPWWorld system has access to the TV Asahi broadcasts, which were only a few of the shows last year. I wonder if SamuraiTV will still be broadcasting the other shows, and if that means they’ll be available thru niconico.

Carta Brava (not-AAA version) took Mike Segura’s hair in a cage match on Sunday in Arena Lopez Mateos.

+LuchaTV has interviews from Super Fly and Aerostar. Also, Alberto del Rio talking briefly about CM Punk and Ricardo Rodriguez talking about coming to AAA and leaving WWE.

LuchaWorld writes about Sunday’s UIPW show with Negro Casas.

Segunda Caida reviewed Black Metal and Cavernario’s trip to Puebla.

SuperLuchas #537 has Brock Lesnar and Alberto del Rio covers.

An interview with Chamaco Valaguez; it reads like he’s working as a butcher and a taxi driver now.

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 12/07/2014 Arena Coliseo
1) Eléctrico & Fantasy vs Pequeño Universo 2000 & Pierrothito
2) Magnus, Soberano Jr., Star Jr. vs Cholo, Hijo del Signo, Ramstein
3) Dark Angel, Estrellita, Princesa Sugehit vs Amapola, La Comandante, Tiffany
4) Ángel de Oro, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Hombre sin Nombre, Kamaitachi, Okumura
5) Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., La Máscara vs Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja, Pólvora
6) Marco Corleone vs Terrible

Terrible hasn’t defended the title in a year, Terrible is about six months away from having the longest ever heavyweight reign, there’s no reason this isn’t a title match, this isn’t a title match. I dunno.

Estrellita is out for a while, still booked on to next week’s show. I dunno.

Sobreano, Star, Cholo and Ramstein are all back together in the segunda. This is a real thing.

CMLL (SUN) 12/07/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Explosivo vs Relampago Azul
2) El Tapatío & Índigo vs Chakal & Furia Nazi
3) El Divino & Virgo vs Demonio Maya & Sádico

11/30 AAA TV Results (Tuxtla Gutiérrez)

AAA TV (SUN) 11/30/2014 Explanada del Parque Bicentenario, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas [AAA]
1) Mini Drago, Octagoncito, Pasion Kristal b Mamba, Mini Murder Clown, Mini Murder Clown
Drago beat Mini Psycho Clown.
2) Australian Suicide & Ivelisse Vélez DQ Dark Cuervo & Sexy Star
Pentagon Jr., a one man immigration task force, ran in to attack Suicide and try to get to Ivelisse for the DQ. This led to a mixed tag title challenge.
3) Aerostar b Súper Fly
Mask ripping chair brawl, with Aerostar winning via top rope frankensteiner.
4) Angélico & Jack Evans b Hijo del Fantasma & Zorro
Jack 630 senton on Zorro.
5) Blue Demon Jr., El Elegido, El Mesías b Averno, Chessman, Cibernético
Demon beat Averno to get revenge for Cibernetico attacking him way back when.
6) Joe Lider & Pentagón Jr. b Fénix & Myzteziz
Lots of Lider style weapons. Pentagon beat Fenix with a Destroyer. Pentagon and Lider declared they’d win the tag titles at Guerra de Titanes. Angelico and Jack ran them off, then had an uneasy moment with Fenix and Myzteziz.

Air Date: 12/20 and 12/27

AAA notes over 10,000 people turned out for the show. The last show here was similar well attended, free and I’m assuming this one was as well, but I’m not 100% sure. There was a locals dark match prior to the show.

Now that we know PPV happening, this is one of those weird tapings which builds up match we’ll already have seen by this point (though not for the people who are only following this promotion on TV.) It’s a lot of place keeping with some interesting results. Hell Brothers lose again which makes it seem like they’ll surely starting winning at Guerra de Titanes, but Aerostar also won and I’d still be shocked if he lost the mask match. The Angelico & Jack Evans appearances feel like a correction to them being brushed aside in this build previously (plus we found out Zorro is a rudo this week), but it’s still hard to see them winning next Sunday.

The mixed tag team feud is new, logical and a good sign of AAA having an idea of how they wanted to use someone new right away. They go back to women’s tag match (Faby/Ivelisse vs Taya/Sexy) at Guerra de Titanes but maybe the tag title match comes some time later.

Not sure when though; the audio preview Oscar and Enrique did prior to last night’s taping called this show the pentultimate of the 2014. That’d mean AAA is done after Guerra de Titanes. They’ll have enough shows taped to last thru 01/10, and they can make it to February if the three best of shows are worked in there.

Next taping is Sunday for Guerra de Titanes.
