Mercurio tries to put his foot thru Electrico’s skull

Astral, Eléctrico, Meteoro vs Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito: [GOOD] No idea what happened with Bucanero/Maximo but this match deserved to make TV. Really strong effort and creative wrestling from the guys involved and a good third fall to finish it up. Are Pequeño Nitro, Mercurio and Pequeño Olimpicio meant to be a trio? Olímpico was doing the usual Pequeño Nitro spots with Mercurio as well as their own combo spot – maybe it’s just Mercurio is good for coming up with things to do. This is one of those times where repeated submission break up spots were announced, not just because they were repeated but because I wanted to see how the rudos would actually escape. Meteoro got beat up a lot, had a good idea for a comeback spot he couldn’t swiftly do, and took Mercurio’s piledriver very hard.

small package suplex!

Esfinge, Gallo, Omar Brunetti vs Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado: [OK] A bit one sides for the rudo trio, who took much of the match from the star locals. Pierroth is apparently deaf and dumb based on the middle fall finish. Guys were being pinned inches away from him and he didn’t notice. Esfinge tried to stop time to do his big spot, then botched it, then posed after. That was not a good 30 seconds in Esfinge history. Gallo and Pierroth had the required botched spot but Pierroth was going down for dropkicks. Crowd was hyped for chanting at each other in this match. The triple dive spot near the end was one of the worst I’ve seen, but it was mostly meant to be that way.

Titan’s hard trip to the fllor

Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero vs Diamante Azul, Marco Corleone, Titán: [OK] Usual Guerreros match with a hysterically botched finish. It’s a small ring, it’s not a lot of room for double finishes, but people do them all the time without colliding. I think it was Diamante Azul’s fault for lining up the wrong way (and nearly dropping Euforia on his head after the collision), but everyone looked dumb. If CMLL really cut out a match for quality reasons – a near unheard of event – maybe this one should’ve been the one to do. Titan had a rough match, from taking the dropkick to the floor to Euforia not really catching him on his tope to the botched Mistica, and none of it was really his fault.
