CMLL (TUE) 12/02/2014 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Bengala & Leono b Camorra & Espanto Jr.
2) Goya Kong, Marcela, Skadi b Dalys, La Seductora, Zeuxis
Goya replaced Lluvia on Tuesday.
3) Blue Panther Jr., Hombre Bala Jr., Súper Halcón Jr. DQ Puma, Sangre Azteca, Tiger
Hombre Bala & Super Halcon replaced Oro Jr. & the Panther on Tuesday. Tiger pulled Pantehr’s mask for the DQ.
4) Ángel de Oro b Hombre sin Nombre [lightning] (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
mecedora in over 9 minutes.
5) Dragon Lee, Fuego, Valiente b Ephesto, Mephisto, Virus
Dragon Lee took falls 2/3, beating Virus in the last. Dragon Lee demanded a title shot. Virus said he liked challenges and accpeted.
6) Bárbaro Cavernario, Hechicero, Negro Casas b Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Máscara Dorada
Rudos took 2/3, with Barbaro submitting Maya and Hechicero beating Delta. Hechicero said Delta needs to defend his dusty titles (Arena Coliseo) but Maya wanted a rematch first.

They’re finally doing Dragon Lee versus Virus and they’re teasing a great Arena Coliseo tag title match. I’m not sure what’s happening here but suddenly we’re back to Tuesday’s being interesting again.

LuchaWorld has a great interview with Negro Casas about wrestling in Los Angeles, adapting thru his career and about Zacarias’ visa status. Transporting animals internationally is tough.

Tonight’s Lucha Underground preview

Big Ryck signs Cueto’s contract; Son of Havoc calls on Simpinela Escarlata; Johnny Mundo steals Cueto’s key as insurance; Sexy Star and Fenix team up against Chavo Guerrero and Pentagon Jr.

matches taped for this show

  • Pimpinela Escarlata vs Son Of Havoc
  • Mil Muertes vs Famous B (Famous B’s debut, except for that time Chavo laid him out)
  • King Cuerno vs Drago
  • Fénix & Sexy Star vs Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Pentagón Jr.

Lucha Underground has posted teasers of Mundo getting his hands on Cueto and Drago versus Cuerno II. Angela Fong is seen in the last one; perhaps her character is “woman who can’t find her seat.”

The early schedule shows there will be a Lucha Underground marathon on 12/14, with all the episodes airing starting at 11:30am CT that day. The 12/17 show was planned to be the last show before taking a holiday break, but that was the original plan and it’s always possible a change.

Slam! Sports has an interview with Big Ryck about the show. He thought he should work like a big bad guy who hurts people, and that looked like a great call after that forearm last week.

Tercera Caida returns today at 5pm after being off for a couple weeks. +LuchaTV has a lot of highlights of the Ichiban show, including Psycho Circus vs 32 Zombies.

CMLL’s not announced anything for Informa, but it’ll probably be Infierno en el Ring focused.

I was wrong, this card on Sunday with about 80 listed luchadors is Arena Coliseo San Luis Potosi’s last show. Rayo de Plata is listed as the top star. Steel Fox lost his hair there on Sunday.

Terrible says Barbaro Cavernario will have to pay his dues in the cage match. Barbaro Cavernario notes he’s been in cage matches in Guadalajara and the Anniversary show so he’s not nervous about Friday’s match. He doesn’t like Terrible disrespecting him but would prefer to have Blue Panther’s hair.

Black Terry Jr. has video of the finals of the CaraLucha tag team tournament.

BxB Fly has music videos of 09/16 Puebla, 09/16 Guadalajara, and 09/21 Coliseo.

Segunda Caida really liked Ultimo Guerrero & Blue Panther vs Black Terry & Solar and Mistico vs Volador.

CMLL’s highlights of 11/28 indicate it’ll be the lightning match and the top two which make Fox.

Dorian Roldan is listed on Sports Business’ top 20 2014 Sports Innovator list.

LLF has a press conference for the end of the year show, which includes a Lady Jaguar vs Alicia mask vs hair match. LuchaMania Monterrey also has an amusing recap of the Arena Coliseo Monterrey show; that main event was no good.

Angelico talks about Sunday’s tag title match.

Lucha Libre in Japan

12/03 NJPW: Sombra’s team loss the atomicos, that doesn’t matter. Let’s look at the tag team tournament standings for his block

10 Anderson & Gallows - done!
08 Naito & Sombra
08 Tenzan & Kojima
08 Styles & Yujiro

As far as anyone can figure, NJPW’s said only the top team moves on – no semifinals or anything like that. Sombra & Naito beat Styles & Yujiro, beat Tenzan & Kojima but lost to Anderson & Gallows. That means if Sombra & Naito win (vs Dane & Conway), they’re tied for the lead but lose the tie breaker unless one of the other teams win. That’s the most likely outcome: Anderson & Gallows are the tag team champions, so they advance to the final (and probably lose to Shibata/Goto.) Sombra & Naito need a win and either one of the other 8 points teams to also win to force NJPW to come up with a new tiebreaker.

6) Toscano vs Veneno [hair]

Yea, sure, why not. At least they got a cool Toscano photo. I thought Veneno had a chance until I saw that. Oficial AK47 no-showing leading to more Danny Casas is the most rudo thing Oficial AK47 has done in some time.

CMLL (TUE) 12/09/2014 Arena México
1) Aéreo & Angelito vs Mercurio & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Flyer, Magnus, Star Jr. vs Artillero, Metálico, Súper Comando
3) Fuego, Oro Jr., Soberano Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Disturbio, Kamaitachi
4) Blue Panther, Blue Panther Jr., The Panther vs Felino, Puma, Tiger
5) Virus © vs Dragon Lee [CMLL SL]
Virus’ eighth defense.
6) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., La Sombra vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Euforia, Hechicero

Sombra’s getting right off the plane and into the ring, I guess. And for an Arena Coliseo tag title feud! Should be a good match, as pretty much everything on this card should be.

Virus has held this title so long, he defended it against the OTHER Dragon Lee. This one’s better, but Virus will having wins over both would be pretty neat. Dragon Lee’s had a meteoric rise this year and this match is 50/50 to me.

Disturbio makes it all the way to a tercera and Flyer gets good people to work with.

CMLL (TUE) 12/09/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) ? & ?? vs ??? & ????
2) ? & ?? vs ??? & ????
3) Dark Angel vs Amapola, Princesa Sugehit, Tiffany, Lluvia, Zeuxis, La Vaquerita, Dalys [cibernetico]
4) Ángel de Oro, Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr. vs Boby Zavala, Okumura, Vangellys
5) Máscara Dorada, Máximo, Super Porky vs Ephesto, Kráneo, Mephisto
6) Volador Jr. vs Último Guerrero

There will be moves, then kick outs, then breaks in that main event. So many of them.

Very unusual for a CMLL card not to have the undercard. Combine that with the management change and I wonder if we’ll see some new names pop up.

8 thoughts to “Dragon Lee vs Virus set, Hechicero/Cavernario vs Maya/Detla, Lucha Underground”

  1. The highlights of the week CMLL put up are 57 seconds long. They found 57 seconds of highlights from the top 3 matches. Can’t wait to watch FOX!

  2. I can’t keep up with all the CMLL content even though I follow things closer than most. I watch CMLL on Azteca America. Is that the only place that content airs, or does it air somewhere in Mexico too?

The show itself is kind of boring, if you’re the kind of fan who likes promos, angles, updates, and all that stuff.
