Mephisto beats Valiente again, Sombra winning in Japan

CMLL (SUN) 11/30/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Domingo Familiares CMLL]
1) El Brillante & El Tapatío b El Piraña & Relampago Azul
Originally a Tapatio/Azul singles match.
2) Dr. Frezeer vs Índigo
Indigo replaced El Chacal.
3) Omar Brunetti & Virgo b El Chacal & Furia Nazi
El Chacal replaced Sadico. Omar replaced Leo.
4) Demonio Maya b Exterminador
5) Dragon Lee, Gallo, Máscara Dorada b Jocker, Mr. Águila, Olímpico
Tecnicos took 2/3
6) Euforia b Ángel de Oro
Euforia took 1/3, the last sneaking in a foul.

Euforia beat the champ, will be getting a title shot maybe never. (Why did Euforia win anyway?)

CMLL (MON) 12/01/2014 Arena Puebla [Periodico Enfoque, Periodico Enfoque (fotos)]
1) Asturiano, Black Tiger, Sensei b Artillero, Guerrero Espacial, Súper Comando
2) Lestat, Oro Jr., The Panther b Metálico, Policeman, Toro Bill Jr.
Lestat back from a two year retirement. Pictures show he’s got a new mask.
3) Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado b Ángel de Oro, Stuka Jr., Tigre Rojo Jr.
4) Mephisto © b Valiente [MEX LH]
Great match. Mephisto’s tenth defense, fourth over Valiente. Seconds were Sagrado and Oro Jr.
5) La Máscara, Máximo, Volador Jr. b Bárbaro Cavernario, Negro Casas, Shocker
Maximo won the match (and/or Mascara & Volador didn’t screw it up) by messing with Shocker and Negro Casas.

Lestat being back is a bit suspicious given the type of feuds in this building but he was good fun before and hopefully still is.

Today’s CMLL show has a Barbaro Cavernario, Hechicero, Casas vs Delta, Maya, Dorada main event trios which could be excellent and may continue the Maya/Cavernario feud. The undercard has had some changes (Goya Kong replaces Lluvia and Bala & Halcon replace Oro & The Panther) but still looks good; the hat put together a random nice Tuesday show. Guadalajara has a Rey Cometa/Sagrado match and Euforia/UG/Thunder vs Atlantis/Volador/Maximo

CMLL’s usual Monday changes also switched around Sunday’s Coliseo DF card. Oro replaced Magnus in the segunda, Marcela replaced the injured Estrellita in the women’s match and Sangre Azteca replaced Okumura in the fourth.

La Mascara is top of CMLL’s top 10. Sagrado is #10.

Rob has a music video of 08/05/14 CMLL.

Local government officials says AAA will return to Tuxtla Guiterrez in 2015 after the big turnout for the two shows this year.

The Guardian has the latest profile of Cassandro. Amused by the luchadora billed as a 14 year old who’s a 15 year vet. Cassandro says here he plans to wrestle for three to five more years.

Black Terry Jr. has highlights of Hechicero/Cavernario vs Veneno/Negro Navarro from the CaraLuchas show.

Princesa Maya won the LLF title.

Toxin Boy is going to be out three months after doing something dumb that didn’t go viral.

A lucha libre show in California raised money for a 14 year old fighting cancer.

Lucha Libre in Japan

12/02 NJPW: Tetsuya Naito & La Sombra [O] b Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI [X] [World 1 TAG]

That’s a CMLL luchador winning a (semi)important main event on a NJPW show, so weird. The win gives Sombra & Naito 8 points, joining two other teams with that total. (They’ve beat once and lost the other, so tie breakers are fairly confusing.) Sombra & Naito are off of the tournament tomorrow – they’ve got an atomicos instead – and have one more match left. I’ll try to figure out possibilities tomorrow.

Lineups

5) Bogar, Charly Guerrero, El Divino, Rey Fuego vs Galaxia 79, Mensajero, Tigre Boy, Tigre del Ring
6) Alex Guajardo vs Galaxy (Querétaro), Furia Salvaje, Lince Infernal [? EXTREMO]

Billed as the final ever lucha libre show in the building. Seems odd they’d be bringing in guys from Queretaro for a random title match to close it out, but the undercard stuffed with a million people feels like the end of an era show.

CMLL (MON) 12/08/2014 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano & Meyer vs Disturbio & Inquisidor
2) Lestat, Magnus, Sensei vs Akrón, Hijo del Signo, Policeman
3) Dragon Lee, Stigma, The Panther vs Cancerbero, Hombre sin Nombre, Raziel
4) Dragón Rojo Jr., Máscara Dorada, Volador Jr. vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Pólvora
5) La Máscara, Marco Corleone, Máximo vs Negro Casas, Shocker, Último Guerrero

Maybe Maximo vs Casas or Shocker coming up here? Tercera could be fun though it’s weird looking at that match and knowing Stigma is the only one going to Japan.

trainees
2) King Lion & Meteoro vs ? & Corazon Latino and Galaxy & Star Boy

9) Cíclope, Crazy King, Miedo Extreme vs Aero Boy, Jhonky, Violento Jack
10) Jimmy, Kevin, Tony vs El Chat, El Junior, El Nene [hair]

Main event is the Nerds vs Malkariados hair vs hair match. The poster says there will be only one winner, which doesn’t really explain how many losers there will be. Tag team tournament final is on a nother show apparently.

  1. cavenario, hechicero and casas as a trio is like they booked just for the American smark lucha fanbase. Huzzah.
