CMLL preview, Guadalajara changes

CMLL’s already announced the 12/05 main event, so tonight’s show is more about seeing if they have anything in store for either a semimain on that show, or for next week’s show going against the AAA taping in Gimansio Juan de la Barrera. CMLL doesn’t appear to have up their sleeve at the moment, but a token effort wouldn’t hurt. The only teased feud is Angel de Oro/Mephisto, which is tonight’s lightning match. A lightning match could set up a title match between them or it could be like Tuesday’s match and go absolutely nowhere. All the other top matches involve two people in the cage match matching up in some way. Dragon Lee and Virus meet in a promising but untelevised segunda.

CMLL.com has a photo of the inside of Rush’s broken leg, if that’s what you’re looking for today. A titanium plate with eight screws was attached to his fibia to fix the fracture, and ankle ligament damage was also repaired. CMLL again said Rush would be resting three months; we probably shouldn’t expect to see Rush in the ring until late February. Sombra, who starts off the tag tournament against Yujiro and AJ Styles in a few hours, wrote that only surgery could stop the Ingobernables and they’d be back together soon.

Apolo Dantes announced he was no longer in charge of Arena Coliseo Guadalajara. This is at least the second time he’s been removed from that position. No word of who’s taking over. It seemed like they just started expanding shows to Tonala, Jalisco – I wonder if those will go on, or if this was even a designed move. No real idea about anything that happened here.

Mil Muetes & Sexy Star were among the Lucha Underground people at last night’s Latin Grammys, which airs on Univison in the US. The Univision Deportes awards are advertised all the time doing the Unimas Lucha Underground airing and I thought maybe Lucha Underground talent would be invited to that, but it seems like they got a earlier/bigger invite. This is about the point where previous networks starting new wrestling promotions have started to lessen their support for the shows, but there’s no sign of that with Lucha Underground so far. In other news, it reads like Matt Striker and Vampiro were doing (or redoing) commentary yesterday.

LuchaWorld has a recap of Lucha Underground week 4 and KrisZ’s news update.

Segunda Caida reviews Lucha Underground episode 4 and Brazo de Plata, La Máscara, Místico vs Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero

Leyendas Inmortales still hasn’t actually aired on TV, but they’ve got two more shows listed as TV tapings.

Zema Ion’s trip thru Mexico includes a match against Ricky Marvin in Acapulco on Sunday.

Mesias won Sombra India’s hair in a cage match. No date is listed on the recap, but I’m thinking it was the 11/15 show in Zacatecas.

Black Terry was not happy with Dr. Cerebro.

Fuego en el Ring interviews Hechicero and the Villano kids.

Metalico talks about his new look.

Semiotica del Deporte has a bio of Rocky Santana.
