Inquisidor Storm

Magnus, Molotov, Sensei vs Hijo del Signo, Inquisidor, Nitro: [below average/OK] A boring match which had me wishing for the excitement of folding laundry. The one thing about Inquisidor matches is it’s easy to notice he’s there. He’s not good or anything, but he’s all over them. He does wacky armdrags when it’s not really his moment in the match to do wacky armdrags, he’s got all sorts of convoluted hanging a guy in the corner moves. You can pretty much forget Hijo del Signo exists at times but that’s not the issue with Inquisidor. Magnus was the one guy here who looked like a luchador. I’m assuming Signo’s added the extra pounds just to get a little more impact on his top rope splash.

lucha libre

Black Panther, Starman, Stigma vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus: [OK/GOOD] The skips – the feed dropping out and buffering problems – are much worse with my recording than I thought. Even the finish to the match got skipped. Back to the drawing board. This seemed like a good match lost in the middle of that. Black Panther is getting better, though not quite as far as long as his brother. Cancerberos were rolling well in the third fall.

backbreaker

Marco Corleone, Stuka Jr., Titán vs Boby Zavala, Kráneo, Tiger: [GOOD] Kraneo flapping his arms and running for his own Aero Italia would’ve made this match Good all on it’s own. Everything else was pretty fun too; this was a good combination of luchadors who played off each other well. Rudos sold well for all the tecnico offense and got in their shots at the right time. Stuka and Titan got in spectacular spots and Marco got to be Marco while facing someone more his own size. It was not an important match and didn’t feel like one but it was enjoyable.

Maximo tope

Máximo vs Shocker: [OK] A slow paced match. Máximo doesn’t come off as a fast luchador, but he had to visibly slow down so Shocker could keep up. Most of this match was Shocker kicking or slapping Máximo, then walking around slowly to catch his breath. The idea was to build sympathy for poor Máximo, but it just came off as very tedious on TV. It went way too long without Máximo getting a comeback. His only real offense before the end was a minute flurry to end the first fall, so it was like 10 minutes of Shocker offense of the first 11 minutes. The near falls were ok but it had already lost me by that point and there still was a laughable missed ref bump. This is probably the best match Shocker’s going to have with Maximo at this point, but it’s not staying much (and the wrong guy won.)
