CMLL (MON) 10/13/2014 Arena Puebla [Periodico Enfoque, Periodico Enfoque (fotos)]
1) Centauro de Fuego & Rey Apocalipsis b Arkalis & Rey Samuray
2) Arkángel de la Muerte, Fuerza Chicana, Nitro b Black Tiger, Milenium, Robin
3) Fuego, Rey Cometa, Tigre Rojo Jr. DQ Olímpico, Puma, Tiger
Tecnicos took 1/3. Olimpico fouled Rey Cometa.
4) Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible b Ángel de Oro, Diamante Azul, Super Porky
Shocker and Azul are feuding here too.
5) Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero b Atlantis, Máximo, Valiente
UG pulled Atlanti’s mask and rolled him up for the win.

TV is more than month behind reality, but it was interesting to see a low turnout here on the TV taped right before the Anniversary show. There wasn’t much more interest in the general product before the mask match (maybe less) and it doesn’t seem that much different last night. The hard camera position doesn’t help – it seems like most people here are seated to the camera left and the camera right (and the Porras are in the balconies in that position – so it’s probably never quite as empty as it looks on the static shot. Still, all evidence points towards the stipulation itself being more over than the Ultimo Guerrero/Atlantis feud. We’ll probably get more evidence in a couple weeks.

CMLL hypes tonight’s Arena Mexico around Hechicero’s new mask. It’s a nice new mask. Probably need more than that. Main event is Peste Negra (Felino, Casas, Cavernario) vs Atlantis, Valiente, and Stuka. They might be setting up a Atlantis match here too, as much as they’re setting up anything. Hechicero teams with Rey Escorpion and Bobby Zavala versus Angel de Oro, Delta and Guerrero Maya in the best chance for a good trios match. Niebla Roja and Rey Cometa meet in the lightning match, and it’s worth checking out CMLL’s YouTube channel around 9pm CT tonight to see if they’ve posted that match. Japanese visitors Makoto & Narumiya debut in the tercera. They made it to Arena Mexico in time for a tiring training session yesterday. Guadalajara has Guerreros vs Titan, Marco, and Azul and a Bucanero/Maximo singles match. Will Maximo lose immediately after winning a tournament? (Possibly.)

Dorian Roldan announced Guerra de Titanes would take place on Sunday December 7th in Zapopan, Jalisco. AAA has run many big shows at the Auditorio Benito Juárez just outside of Guadalajara, most recently Guerra de Titanes 2012 (Chessman beating Vampiro in a six way cage match via fire extinguisher.) Texano Jr. won the Mega championship on that show, and his defense against Alberto el Patron is the first official match for this year’s show.

AAA TV this week announced a 11/17 taping for Leon (and got rid of the one I mentioned previously), which should take them thru the November 29th TV show if they continue taping two weeks of TV at every event. That means there’s probably one more taping in late November prior to Guerra de Titanes and about 4 weeks of TV to set up any other matches. Guerra de Titanes looks to air on TV 12/20 and 12/27, though AAA intends to air it live on iPPV as well.

AAA’s traditional year end taping is usually in Chilpancingo, Guerrero and AAA’s announced a show for Chilpancingo on 12/20, but it’s not listed as a TV taping. It looks like a TV taping level card but they wouldn’t announce a taping lineup this far out.

There’s a handheld video of Alberto & Mesias vs Texano & Perro up on YouTube.

LuchaWorld has this week’s Poster-Mania and KrisZ’s news update.

DoradaFan has highlgihts of 07/22/2014 CMLL

This week’s Lucha 2000 and Box Y Lucha both have Maximo, Cuchillo and Antonio Pena on the cover.

Segunda Caida has a review of 08/09/14 CMLL.

Maximo is #1 on the CMLL top 10. Kamataichi is 10, because the arrival of the Japanese luchadoras will give him encouragement to rise to the top.

DJ Spectro has a short bio of Gran Davis.

Fulgor I is interviewed about the upcoming ChilangaMask show in Coacalco. Uno says he’s more adventurous in thinking up moves; Dos is definitely the calmer one of the two.

Diagonal has an interview Okumura and Kamaitachi on a recent trip to Cancun. Okumura says he was good youth baseball pitcher before suffering an arm injury, planned to come to Mexico for only a year, and was going to return to Japan when he broke clavicle but Negro Casas took care of him and convinced him to stay. Kamaitachi claims the first time he ate tacos, he ate 30 of them.

Cavenario says he’s not an overnight success, is looking forward to going to FantasticMania. We’re probably about a month away from hearing more about that show.

Thunder says the real him is a rudo so he’s glad he’s on that side and he knows he needs to improve his Spanish if he’s going to stay in Mexico.

The next AAA show in San Luis Potosi has Sin Cara, Mesias and Elegido vs the Hell Brothers (and no Texano or Alberto.)

CMLL’s highlights of the week.

Lucha Libre in Japan

Alberto will face Masakatsu Funaki on the 11/01 Wrestle-1 card. For what it’s worth, they’re not bringing up AAA here – this is Alberto coming in as a freelancer. The match should air in Japan on 11/30.

Lineup

CMLL (MON) 10/20/2014 Arena Puebla
1) Arkalis & Milenium vs Blue Center & Guerrero Espacial
2) Hombre Bala Jr., Starman, Súper Halcón Jr. vs Akrón, King Jaguar, Siki Ozama Jr.

More Atlantis/Guerrero.

Like Olimpico, Morphisis hasn’t been to Arena Mexico since June. Unlike Olimpico, Morphosis isn’t booked in Guadalajara. He’s getting about a booking per night (and working a lot of indy shows.) I don’t think the Invasors are going to win their war.

Cara Lucha (SAT) 10/18/2014 Arena San Juan Pantitlan, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal
1) Magnifico I & Magnifico II vs Hombre Bala Jr. & Súper Halcón Jr. and Andy Boy & Danger and Oro Jr. & Star Jr. and Belial & Impulso and Kilvan & Yoruba and Fly Star & Toxin Boy andLátigo & Rayo Star [Copa Caralucha de Parejas]
8 team tournament
2) Súper Nova vs Trauma II
3) Aeroboy & Flamita vs Rey Cometa & Tritón
4) Extreme Tiger vs Cavernario

Full card for previously announced show. The main event was originally a trios but was split into a singles and a tag, both which could be found. The full list of participants in the tag team tournament are on the poster, though they’re still doing promos with each team: the modified Sky Stars (Latigo Stars?) are the seventh entrant, so we’re just short a promo from La Resistianca team of Yoruba & Kilvan. (Why do the indy teams have names but the CMLL teams do not? Get on it, Star & Oro.) There’s also a promo with Xtreme Tiger on his new singles match with Cavernario.
