indy (SAT) 09/13/2014 Salón Citlalli, Ecatepec de Morelos, Estado de México [Black Terry Jr. (Flickr), thecubsfan]
1) Lokillo b Psique
2) Fly Star & Toxin Boy L Rayo Star & Sky Man and Arceus & Corsario Negro Jr. and Rayo Sonico & Stukita
Winning team was to go onto the main event. Stukita & Rayo team was eliminated first, then the other three teams were all counted out. Referee ruled all three teams would go to the main event.
3) Destructor & Skull Metal b Aero Dinamyc & Principe A.
Rudos snuck in a double team after one team was eliminted to win.
4) Felina Metalica & Krazy Star b Goya Kong & Lluvia and Reyna Obscura &Sherry
Eliminations went Reyna, Krazy (both at about the same time), Goya Kong, Sherry and Lluvia last when Krazy Star came back in and distracted the referee so Felina could pull Lluvia’s mask and pin her. Challenges set up a Goya/Lluvia vs Felina/Krazy rematch next week.
5) Pólvora & Tritón b Rayo Star & Sky Man and Fly Star & Toxin Boy and Arceus & Corsario Negro

The indy teams did tons of moves, while the CMLL team did much less and did not get along. They still won.

Haven’t seen full results yet, but Fenix vs Pentagon Jr. vs Drago main evented Saturday night’s Lucha underground show and was said to be a great match. The mystery of Hijo del Fantasma not being booked anywhere was also solved: he was also at those shows, and the idea of focusing on only five AAA luchadors seems to be out.

AAA tapes today in Cancun and has Alberto in his first post-WWE official match. Diamante Azul and Euforia have a title match in CMLL.

Cavernario explains why he’s going to win on Friday.

El Sabor del Ring has five reasons Ultimo Guerrero will win.

Como Estaz 2×2: Aereo’s bite

Saturday, we saw an all minis show and a kinda-of indies versus CMLL event. We talk about them for about 40 minutes, plus/minus unexplained breaks.

There were a few more people around the microphone (/cell phone with a recording app); I did something to improve the volume but I’m not entirely sure it worked. Hopefully everything comes thru.

Ingobernables and Cavernario win prior to Anniversary show

CMLL (FRI) 09/12/2014 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Mercurio & Pequeño Nitro b Shockercito & Stukita
Rudos took 1/3
2) Misterioso Jr., Puma, Skándalo b Black Panther, Pegasso, Tritón
Rudos took 1/3
3) Cavernario, Pólvora, Rey Escorpión b Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa
Rudos took 1/3 again, with Cavernario beating up Cometa early and beating him clean to end the match.
4) Fuego, Titán, Valiente b Ephesto, Hechicero, Niebla Roja
Fuego replaced Mascara Dorada (moved to different match) on Monday. Tecnicos tooks 2/3.
5) Marco Corleone, Máscara Dorada, Volador Jr. DQ Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
Dorada replaced Dragon Rojo (who did appear on commentary). Tecnicos won in straight falls when Thunder attacked everyone, including catching Marco’s Air Italia and slamming him.
6) Diamante Azul, La Máscara, Rush b Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Shocker
Tecnicos took 1/3 in a brawl.

Nothing changes for next Friday. Brazo de Plata is the Dragon Rojo replacement on Tuesday. Thunder deal came off like they were trying to not just turn him rudo, but make him a new top of the card rudo. I would guess more of the same next week.

Lucha Underground resumes taping today. Fenix, Pentagon and Drago are on the shows, but Ricochet/Prince Puma will not be – he’s off to Evolve for the weekend.

AAA’s TV will air Myzteziz vs Perro Aguayo Jr. today.

Electroshock and Gronda are at the Hard Rock Show in Cancun, even though they weren’t on the card. Guess they are now.

FILL vs IWRG

A double Copa High Power show! There are so many interesting cards on Tuesday, and pretty much none on Monday and Wednesday. They’ll do well because it’s targeting the casual fans who will go to a show on a holiday, but the hardcore fan in me really wishes they’d spread those out a bit better.

Como Estaz 2×1: waiting for Hechicero

We’re back in Mexico, so the podcast makes an unlikely return.

Listen as we struggle with the combination of jet lag and a sometimes boring CMLL show!

Marvel at my inability to improve the sound quality!
