Hombre Bala ramp splash

Hombre Bala Jr., Soberano Jr., Súper Halcón Jr. vs Canelo Casas, Disturbio, Hijo del Signo: This group got more time than usual and came up with some good ideas to use it, but something was missing for me. Soberano, who’s still the only member of the featherweight division, still has completely changed his upper body and performed better here than he did in the En Busca de un Idolo tournament; he seems more like a good trios luchador at this point. Hombre Bala was on fire at different points. Hijo del Signo, outside of the embarrassing mishap at the end of the first fall, looked more aggressive than usual Canelo Casas had use as a tackling dummy.

knee drop

Gallo © vs Arkángel de la Muerte [FULL HEAVY]: Ok/good. I wasn’t wowed by it, but it wasn’t a chore to watch either. They did spend an awful lot of the second and third falls focusing on an Arkángel knee injury that didn’t end either fall and was pretty much ignored by the second half of the the third fall. Arkángel did pull out a couple of neat spots near the end of the third fall. Gallo did not, but got his visual pin anyway.

Stuka Jr., Super Porky, Tritón vs Hechicero, Rey Bucanero, Terrible: Another Super Porky match, and I’m running into too many of those. Super Porky trying to run is kind of just embarrassing for all of us, but the rudos using Super Porky’s weight against the técnicos was fun. Terrible got to mean without bumbling for once. Hechicero had a good sequence with Triton, even bailing him out of a possible slip, and I’m looking forward to the inevitable lightning match between the two.

Fuego, Máximo, Valiente vs Kráneo, Mr. Águila, Ripper: Fine enough, but totally the kind of CMLL match you don’t remember a day later. Fuego seemed to be doing a little more because of the rare main event chance, but nothing else stood out. Mr. Aguila continues to have strong face paint designs.
