AAA-Televisa: Consejo vs Psycho Circus, another appearance by the mystery guy. I wonder if they’ll start using the name on this TV show or if they had the announcers not even say it since it was going to be a secret for 12 more hours. AAA seemed to be taping a sit down interview to air at some point.

Televisa has the World Cup. It doesn’t appear to affect the AAA show (so far!) but there’s no UTDN airings next week.

Myzteziz, Fuerza Guerrera/Golden Magic, Mistico on Mistico

@ Antonio_Fierro

At a press conference to talk about the upcoming AAA show at the Hard Rock Casino in Puerto Vallarta, AAA introduced Mistico/Sin Cara as a newly contracted AAA luchador under a new name: Myzteziz. He’s got a new outfit, which has a few elements of his old ones.

The name appears to be pronounced Miztiz, though we’ll be hearing it often to be sure. One easy way to remember how to spell the name: slam your head on your keyboard, and you’re there. It seems way too complicated, just ugly to the eye and one people are going to struggle to remember, but maybe they’ll get it over on TV.

AAA owns it in Mexico – check expediente numbers 1483972, 1483974, and 1483976, all filed back on 05/08 – but not yet in the US. Myzteziz said he’d still be using Mistico/Sin Cara on non-AAA shows, so he hasn’t really fixed his long term issue if he ends up falling out with AAA. Though he may have more problems than a name if he falls out with AAA.

(The Ring & Rock 2 show is happening July 4th thru July 6th. AAA tapes in Xalapa on 07/03, so the show is unlikely to be a taping this time around.)

IWRG (WED) 06/04/2014 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Black Angel (IWRG) & Fly Boricua b Black Niko & Voltar
Main shows debuts for all except Niko.
2) Matrix Jr. & Muerte Infernal b Aramis & Sky Ángel
Aramis’ debut. Muerte Infernal’s first match since 2011 (so it could be a new one.)
3) Anubis Black & Zurdog b Látigo & Metaleon
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Guerrero Mixtico, Hip Hop Man, Tony Rivera
5) Bombero Infernal, Canis Lupus, Fuerza Guerrera b Black Terry, Golden Magic, Relámpago
straight falls for the rudos, Fuerza catching Golden in a submission by surprise. Golden Magic, the champion, demanded Fuerza Guerrera face him in a title match.

Fuerza Guerrera blew off the idea of a title match in a post match interview, but did sound like he’d do a super libre one.

CMLL Informa had Angel de Oro, surly La Sombra and Volador Jr. on last night. Angel de Oro talked about his return, while Sombra and Volador each talked about Friday’s title match (though Sombra was more into getting over his new character.) The show ended with Mistico being brought out to repeat the message from the end of the last show – this is the real and only Mistico, and anyone else using that name is fake. It feels like watching a totalitarian regime try to change history, except if the regime had no power at all.

Last night’s Tercera Caida had a lot of highlights and Aeroboy as guest. They talk to Aeroboy for 20 more minutes after the show, and they’re giving away a t-shirt.

Lucha Libre in Japan

06/05 NJPW: BUSHI b Mascara Dorada [BOSJ, match 6]
Dorada drops to 3-3. He’s kind of alive – if there’s a big tie, he would be part of it – but he’s probably done. He’s got a match with Matt Jackson tomorrow to wrap up his block, and then will get in a tag match on the 8th.

06/04 AAA TV Results (Celaya)

AAA TV (WED) 06/04/2014 Explanada de las Antiguas Instalaciones de la Feria, Celaya, Guanajuato [AAA]
1) Aerostar, Ludxor, Venum b Carta Brava Jr., Fresero Jr., Hijo de Pirata Morgan
Aerostar beat Carta Brava Jr. with a top rope huracanrana
2) Taya Valkyrie b Sexy Star, La Jarochita, La Magnifica, Mary Apache, Cinthia Moreno, Sexy Lady [Reina De Reinas, #1 Contenders]
Order of elimination: Cinthia Moreno (La Magnifica), Sexy Lady (Sexy Star), La Jarochita (La Magnifica), Sexy Star (La Magnifica & Mary Apache), La Magnifica (Mary Apache), Maya Apache (Taya Valkyrie), leaving Taya as the winner. Taya faces Faby Apache at some future date.
3) Daga, Eterno, Steve Pain b Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Niño Hamburguesa
Daga submitted Crazy Boy with the mata leon. Crazy Boy went out on a stretcher.
4) Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown © b Hijo del Fantasma, Silver King, Texano Jr. [AAA TRIOS]
Monsther Clown beat Silver King. The Psycho Circus 7th defense (and 5th versus Consejo)
5) Averno, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Parka Negra b Cibernético, La Parka, Monsther Clown
Averno again was the rudo surprise. Monsther Clown was the exciting tecnico surprise, and he unsurprisingly lost to Averno. As on the Chiapas tapings, Eterno & Steve Pain ran in after the match only for The Mystery Luchador to make the save and clear the ring. He wore a Sin Cara mask this time.

Air Date: 06/07 – it’s going to be a quick turnaround.

Still no name for Mistico/Sin Cara, which means the bizarre situation where everyone knows who the “mystery” guy is except storyline AAA continues on. Even the guy who possibly made the decision not to refer to this man by name can refer him to by name, but only on Twitter and not if he turns up on screen again. Things like AAA sneaking in a “sin rostro” reference and Ciberentico doing comedic Twitter monologues trying to solve the mystery are amusing, but it’s a bit absurd that no one would put a name to him after three straight weeks of this. This is AAA slow playing a storyline, as usual, and the feedback on Twitter and Facebook was a bit mocking AAA for not advancing that small issue. Maybe they’ll get to it on Verano de Escandalo.

Maybe there needs to be another reference instead of “Misterioso Luchador”, because the entire point of using this man is he’s the least mysterious and one of the most well known luchadors in the country. His reasons for being there are being presented as mysterious, but he is not.

Showing up in the Sin Cara mask suggests Mistico/Sin Cara’s bit in Arena Neza about wanting to be Sin Cara may have been planned, or at the very least was smoothed over after the fact. AAA let him be Sin Cara, after all.

Unsure why AAA couldn’t just put another person on the bus to Celaya instead of having Monster Clown work twice. They’ve been doing that with the mystery person bit and it doesn’t really help anything.

Psycho Clowns winning the trios titles sure suggests they’re not breaking or replacing Psycho Clown any time soon, but again this is a promotion that can go months without title matches anyway – Psycho Circus can be champions without really teaming that much.

I dunno what the deal is was with Daga, but it sure doesn’t appear there’s any problems now. They’re even making sure not to use him as Pain/Eterno cannon fodder at the end of the show.

No hint as to where Taya gets a title shot. There about 10 weeks until TripleMania. They could wait all the way to then – for Taya/Faby and Daga/Aero/? – but a one on one midcard match would seem out of place on recent TripleManias.

Next taping is 06/07, Verano de Escandalo in Orizaba.
