1) Power Bull & Skull Metal b Black Niko & Sky Ángel
2) Guerrero Mixtico & Hip Hop Man b Látigo & Metaleon
rudos snuck in a foul on Metaleon
3) Apolo Estrada & El Hijo del Diablo b Alan Extreme & Veneno [IWRG IC TAG]
Title change! Apolo & Diablo were able to overcome Veneno’s holy karate to win the championship. Veneno and Alan fall on third defense. Gringos VIP are 22nd champions.
4) Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 b Oficial AK47 [IWRG Rey del Ring]
Hijo de Mascara Ano 2000 is the champion, and took falls 1/3 to keep the title, the last with a German suplex.
5) Imposible b Hijo De La Bestia [mask]
Bestia broke up with the rudos seven days ago. Apolo Estrada seconded Bestia, Eterno seconded Imposible. Bestia was DQed in the first for excessive violence, then Imposible just beat him in the second fall for the rare straight falls mask win. Hijo de la Bestia was announced as Humberto Lopez Che, from Guadalajara, 32 years old, 15 years a luchador.

Hijo de la Bestia suddenly gets into a mask match, then loses in straight falls is the normal bit of random that is IWRG. Tag team title change is good news.

Gronda (original) says he’s working here on June 1st. That’ll be something.

Flamita kept the Dragon Gate Open the Dream Gate Championship last night in Arena Aficion.

Final Week 1 En Busca de un Idolo totals

565	Hechicero
451	Cavernario
433	Cachorro
423	Dragon Lee
--------------------------
406	Star Jr.
395	Soberano Jr.
339	Super Halcon Jr.
336	Guerrero Negro Jr.

Important lesson: Don’t have a Junior in your name?

CMLL Informa revealed Hechicero, Cavernario, Cachorro and Dragon Lee as the final four. They also explained Friday’s trios match will be Negro Casas, Cavernario, and Dragon Lee versus Virus, Hechicero and Cachorro. Cachorro was a Negro Casas trainee, but the idea is Casas didn’t want to team with him so he was the one sent over to the other team. (Virus was unhappy with only getting one finalist again, and the judges scoring in general.) The half hour show went just over an hour, with fan questions and Cavernario being crazy. I’ve put up in two parts.

The Informa show seemed like a special occasion show and not a weekly show. They’ll probably be back in a month to push the final.

All the judging polling and fan polling ended up actually not changing much. The top four based on win/loss record was Cavernario (5 wins), Dragon Lee (4.5 wins), Cachorro (4 wins) and Hechicero (3.5 wins.)

Marisela Pena told a fan that AAA would be returning to Puebla for a TV taping on 06/13. That would be the first taping after Verano de Escandalo. It will be the third taping in a nine day stretch (06/04 in Celaya & 06/07 in Orizaba), an exceptionally busy stretch for AAA. That schedule could take care of all their taping for June and more depending on how many matches they run.

There are no lineups announced for any of those shows so far, but they should start to be officially announced after Saturday’staping.

Rob has highlights of 06/08 & 06/15/2001 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has a KrisZ’s news update and a recap of the Week 7 of En Busca de un Idolo.

This week’s Tercera Caida had lots of DTU coverage, and an after the show interview with Violento Jack and Shane Strickland.

Fuego en el Ring talks to Esfinge about his upcoming Mexico City debut. He’s been wrestling regularly in Arena Coliseo Guadalajara since 2011, but is only 20.

Fenix talks about Averno’s debut. The article mentions Fenix has been Fusion champion for over a year. He’s never defended the belt on TV in that time.

Okumura has been in CMLL for 10 years. This is the second time CMLL’s announced this. I don’t know why.
