IWRG, Arena Mexico preview, Brave Gate

IWRG (WED) 05/07/2014 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Fulgor II b Sky Ángel
2) Látigo & Metaleon b Rayan & Spartan
3) Hijo De La Bestia & Imposible b Ángel Del Amor & Astro Rey Jr.
4) Canis Lupus & Eterno b Golden Magic & Relámpago
Rudos took 1/3.
5) Cien Caras Jr., Danny Casas, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, X-Fly DQ Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
Team Caras Casas took 2/3, the last when 911 pulled Mascara Ano’s mask.

No mention of Angel del Amor still wanting a title shot. Imposible has a lot of feuds which don’t get resolved.

Tonight’s CMLL show is is far less episodic without the tag team title match. The main event now is another Atlantis/Ultimo Guerrero, building to a match that’s four and half months away under the best case scenario. Princesa Blanca and Princesa Sughiet face off in the women’s match and that’s about it for follow up to last week. The En Busca de un Idolo matches are interesting: both Star Jr./Soberano and Cachorro/Hechicero have a chance to be good, and are certain to create interesting GIFs.

Criterio Hidalgo reports Drastick Boy will get a shot at Flamtia for the Dragon Gate Brave Gate championship on 05/20 in Arena Aficion.  They’ve been setting up that match in promos, and DTU’s teased the full lineup in the next day or so.

AAA article starts of saying the wins have come consistently for Anarquia since Daga took over. They’ve had two matches since Daga announced he was taking over. They’re 1-1. I dunno. Anyway, Eterno says the Psycho Circus are overrated and is unconcerned about facing his teammates in the cruiserweight six way.

Tercera Caida posted a 27 minute after the show interview with Averno. LuchaWorld has a recap of the whole show. Find out who hasn’t paid up on their bet!

AULL trainees beat IWRG trainees in Arena Naucalpan.

Axel won the “IC Middleweight championship” in Arena Pinkusky.

Segunda Caida reviews Valiente versus Virus.

Sabor del Ring interviews SLP luchador Gigante Warrior, who says he was briefly in AAA as el Monsturo and lost his mask to Dos Caras Jr. as El Darketo.

Nino Hamburugesa and Kevin of Los Nerds reading a book.

New Hotness: not airing your main event.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: Preview’s not officially up, but it’s already been revealed on Twitter that the first five matches from Minatitlán will air, which means possibly very good Pentagon/Suicide and Daga/Pain vs Angelico/Jack. That leaves out the main event – Bengala’s debut. Ricky Marvin will never make AAA TV?!?

I had that show penned down as a two week taping. It’s only a one week one after all, so everything else airs a week sooner. The Tapachula taping will tape on 05/17 and looks to air on 05/24 barring any other change. AAA would get Sin Cara & Averno on TV for two weeks before Verano de Escandalo. That makes it a little bit easier to promote them as being on that show.

== CMLL ==

FOX: Expecting the main event to be kept off TV here, so the Atlantis feud, the Princesa breakup and the Rey Cometa trios should all make air. There’s going to be some creative editing on the mid-show introduction (or maybe it’ll just be dropped.)

52MX: first week of it being all Guadalajara, and I have no real idea of what that means. This network seems to have decent strength in Guadalajara itself and they’ve gone out of their way to include matches with locals under the previous format. I’d expect that to continue, even if that means some of the midcard gets skipped. The real bonus here is the Valiente/Mephisto title match may make air, which it definitely would not have under the old format.

ClaroSports: top 3 from last Sunday. Not sure how much I’m going to do previews when I’m never going to be able to see this show (the LATV problem.)

C3: Atlantida vs Guerreros, almost. Undercard matches in full moving video!

TVC Deportes (Puebla): start of the Ripper/Azul feud, Mascara/Escorpion in a lightning match. Listed as airing at 5pm and 11pm on Sundays right now. Maybe one of those is right.

Lucha Azteca: Odiosos vs Niebla/Shocker/Casas

Terra Friday: Cachorro vs Hechicero ad Star Jr. vs Soberano, both which could be a lot of fun. Sugheit makes her debut as a tecnico. Maybe don’t worry about the first couple matches unless you want to see Rebelde and Bengala.

Terra Sunday: La Sombra vs Rey Escorpion, which should be interesting even in medio format. This is another one where you may be able to get away with missing the first couple of matches, but the top four matches all have a chance.

Terra Tuesday: Metalico and Oro Jr. continue not get along. Zeuxis probably destroys Skadi again. Cavernario/Guerrero Negro and Dragon Lee/Super Halcon Jr. to wrap week 6.

Noches de Coliseo: SIN CARA’S TV REDEBUT. You knew it would happen in Monterrey.

IWRG-AYM Sports: Hoping Rey del Ring, probably getting let down.
