Acero replaced Stukita. Bam Bam’s first match here since November, Pequeno Universo’s first match since October. Tecnicos took 2/3, Warrior fouling Bam Bam for the DQ.
3) Cancerbero, Raziel, Sangre Azteca b Hombre Bala Jr., Pegasso, Stigma Hombre Bala Jr., Pegasso, Stigma vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Sangre Azteca, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Rudos took 1/3 in the best of the undercard trios matches.
4) Cavernario b Dragon Lee [En Busca de un Idolo] Dragon Lee vs Cavernario in a En Busca de un Idolo match, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Final Week 4 matches. Cavernario defeated Dragon Lee in what officially was about 9:55 (though the clock actually started late on both matches.) Cavernario won with a cavernaria in a very good match. Guest judge tonight was La Sombra (still in a bad mood), and Dragon Rojo Jr. replaced Shocker again. Cavernario scored a 5, 9, 10, 6 for a 30. Dragon Lee scored a 4, 8, 8, 3 for a 23 with both Niebla and Tirantes saying Dragon Lee was better than his two brothers (Rush & Mistico). Tirantes accused Dragon Lee of stealing Star Jr.’s great – it was the same gear he wore against Star Jr. a few weeks ago.
5) Guerrero Negro Jr. b Cachorro [En Busca de un Idolo] Cachorro vs Guerrero Negro Jr. in a En Busca de un Idolo match, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
No reference was made to Guerrero Negro Jr.’s weird “Left CMLL” facebook status. He won via Canadian Destroyer in 6:25. Guerrero Negro Jr. scored 6, 9, 8, 6 for a 28. Cachorro scored 6, 8, 7, 4 for a 25.
6) Felino, Puma, Tiger b Fuego, Máximo, Sagrado
Team Cat took 1/3.
7) Boby Zavala, Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión b La Sombra, Titán, Tritón
7) La Sombra, Titán, Tritón b Boby Zavala, Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión
Sombra barely participated in the match and did not get along with his teammates. Rudos took 2/3.

Sombra barely participated in the match and did not get along with his teammates. Tecnicos took 1/3.

Cavernario versus Dragon Lee is worth checking out. Sombra and Rush not getting along with anyone and kind of ruining matches is going to get old after a while, but it’s not been a while yet. Sombra keeping in character also brought down the scores the En Busca guys received; that’s the inherent unfairness of ever changing judges.

Terra broadcast the show with no HD for whatever reason. It sounds like Shocker was humiliated by clowns on a TV show instead of judging this week. These things happen. It’s probably an excused absence in that case, but it doesn’t quite what’s up Friday – maybe more clowns?

While Averno is leaving CMLL, there’s no suggestion Mephisto is finishing up with CMLL. They surely need to come up with a new name or role for Hijo del Averno, but it appears Ephesto and Mephisto will be around Arena Mexico as long as we can tell.

Black Terry Jr. has photos from the Tepito show with Sin Cara, Averno and friends.  There’s video of part of the match here. I hope Averno gets a new shirt at some point. +LuchaTV talked to Averno about leaving CMLL, and says he’s not signed with AAA (though he respects their wrestlers), but is just really excited to fight the independent luchadors. That’s a great story, like he quit CMLL because he really wants to fight Veneno. Averno does say he’s booked for Friday in a city that’s not where AAA’s taping TV.

UFC announced they’ll be running Arena Ciudad de Mexico on November 11/15, with heavyweight champion (and Mexican American) Cain Velasquez defending his title. They’ll also be filming a season of their Ultimate Fighter reality show, airing on Televisa’s Channel 5 in Mexico starting on August 11th. The cast for that will be eight Mexicans and eight others from Latin American. People have been predicting the rise of MMA in Mexico (and that rise drawing people away from lucha libre) for at least a half decade. This TV show, even more than the one day event, is the best chance for that to ever happen. Though, conversely, if it doesn’t take this time, it’s hard to understand when it ever will.

Today is Kid’s Day proper. IWRG is usually the only lineup I can find on Wednesdays, but I’ve got 12 lineups today and there’s probably many more small ones being put on by local governments.
