Cachorro, Fuego, Stuka Jr. vs Cancerbero, Maléfico, Raziel: Perfectly fine midcard match. Malefico has a nice quebradora and looked like a normal part of this, as you’d expect a vet. The stuff with Raziel annoying Stuka during the first fall was fun, wish they could’ve kept going with it. Not entirely sure what was supposed to happen at the end of the first fall, but I’m pretty sure Raziel only got pinned for a 1 count. Really happy the surprise armbar finish is being passed down, it’s one of my favorites.

Estrellita, Goya Kong, Marcela vs Amapola, Dalys, Princesa Sugheit: Normal build up to the hair match. They fought well, the finish was lame even for excessive violence disqualifications. Very good camera work on Marcela’s missed kneedrop, hiding Dallys’ movement until the last moment. Goya & Estrellita continue to be a very amusing comedy tag team.
La Sombra vs Dragón Rojo Jr. for the NWA World Middleweight Championship: EXCELLENT. This is a good/great title match even as far as the first 13 minutes of the third fall, with Dragon Rojo impressing by pulling out new ideas and looking more impressive in a match than he has in a long time, but still having a lot of cliches of CMLL singles matches (including move long pause your move.) They found another gear in the last six or seven minutes, in speed and ideas and timing. There’s other matches with finishing moves getting kicked out or reversed into other near falls, but they came of as incredibly convincing here; the crowd was genuinely surprised the match wasn’t over many times before the finish. Scarcely a moment went wrong the entire match and the crowd was a big part – they were strongly into this match, carrying it even farther than the guys in it. This was a match where both guys looked fantastic for being part of it.
Why can’t Dragon Rojo Jr. be this awesome in every match?
