CMLL Guerreros del Ring on 52MX: 2013-12-14

Astral is too heavy?

recap

taped 2013-12-03 @ Arena Coliseo Guadalajara

Astral, Eléctrico, Fantasy vs Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior: Usual unappealing minis match including the routinely appallingly bad moments. End of the second fall was a trainwreck, if the train was first lit on fire. There were three different champions in this match, which no one would’ve known if JCR hadn’t pointed them all out. It’s a credit to JCR for being able to remember but doesn’t much to the point of those championship. I have no idea why this aired, but I’m starting to believe they decide on the GDL match without ever seeing the tape.

almost!

taped 2013-12-08 @ Arena Mexico
Máscara Dorada, Thunder, Valiente vs Averno, Euforia, Tama Tonga: usual midcard okay match with nothing going on. Rudos spent more energy on working with for the tecnicos than for themselves (and the middle rudo fall dragged as a bit). Thunder was not horrible but was not good. Dorada and Valiente got in moments.

their work did generally get better later on

Máximo, Rush, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas: Volador & Negro’s names were pulled out of the hat, and so they’re feuding. The Volador técnico turn has been so tremendously lacking and now they’re matching him against the most cheered rudo left. Maybe they’ll have a fun time with it but it’s not actually a way to get someone over. Match was okay but nothing extraordinary (outside of Niebla & Zacarias’ outfit) and I thought the finish sequence looked poor.

Vampiro new champion, Azul/Olimpico, El Protector

CMLL (SUN) 01/26/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) El Tapatío b Raycko
Raycko loses in his debut.
2) El Brillante DQ Acertijo
Acertijo fouled Brillante.
3) El Divino & El Ídolo b Évola & Infierno
Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Demonio Rojo b Esfinge
Demonio Rojo distracted the ref and pulled Esfinge’s mask for the win.
5) Sky Kid & Smaker b Espectrum & Exterminador
Tecnicos took 1/3.
6) Diamante Azul, Shocker, Titán b Olímpico, Terrible, Vangellys
Shocker worked as a tecnico. Tecnicos took straight falls, Azul beating Olimpico each time. Azul wants a shot at Olimpico’s Occidente heavyweight title. Also, somehow, Terrible vs Shocker is happening next week.

Diamante Azul versus Olimpico is going to be some kind of match.

IWRG (SUN) 01/26/2014 Arena Naucalpan [IWRG]
1) Alfa & Omega b Kaling Black & Matrix Jr.
2) Araña de Plata & Hijo De La Bestia b Hip Hop Man & Sky Ángel
Hip Hop Man & Sky Angel have sort of matching outfits.
3) Alan Extreme, Emperador Azteca, Látigo b Anubis Black, Douki, Fulgor
Alan replaced Dragon Celestial. Alan german suplxed Anubis for the win. Latigo wants a shot at Fulgor’s title.
4) Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Trauma I, Trauma II b Golden Magic, Hijo De Dos Caras, Máscara Púrpura
Rudos took 1/3. Purpura was hurt in the third fall. Refs checked on him, and Trauma I snuck a foul on Hijo de Dos.
5) Vampiro Canadiense b Cien Caras Jr. [IWRG IC HEAVY]
Vampiro won the title with a superplex. Cien Caras Jr. falls on his sixth defense. Vampiro is 19th champion.

Vampiro & Cien aired last night, so you’ll be able to watch it yourself tomorrow.

Black Terry Jr. has highlights of Fenix, Pentagon, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker vs Arez, Belial, Kronos and Tornado, which sounds crazy.

Guerrero Maya vs Black Terry, the latest rematch, will be on the next ChilangaMask show.

Los Colisenos laughed off the claim he was Julio Cesar Rivera.

Porra Fresa has a preview of tonight’s Arena Puebla card, with Negro Casas versus Atlantis. That’s a thing after Sunday.

CMLL posted their video preview from Friday.

Lapaida talks about his career.

IWRG’s version of the Gran Alternativa. Hey, if Imposible or Alan Extreme win, maybe one day they’ll win an IWRG championship! (Wait a second…) I can’t figure out how Hijo de Dos Caras is the veteran on any team. Eterno being back is the big news.

IWRG also annoucned a FILL vs Skayde Gym show for 02/04. No Thursday show this week and that replaces the usual one next week.
