Did AAA release this one early so I wouldn’t have it up first again? NAH. This sadly means I have like 3 AAA posts left for the next 31 days, which is kind of depressing. Maybe some recaps ones too, those are always plesant.

Speaking of, I just watched Guerra de Titanes Part 2 last night – everything recap wise is way behind for a variety of reasons – and sincerely wrote that the main event seemed like blow off for Jeff Jarrett in AAA. I am a tremendous fool. Back again. On the other side, you have to give AAA credit for giving Ecatepec what passes for a major show main event match on a regular TV taping. This paragraph has become too sarcastic, let’s try a new one.

Everyone seems to be working under the impression that Jarrett is starting his own promotion in the US. That would seem to be something competing for the same general space as AAA US. TNA could similarly be seen competition when Jarrett was working for them, but working with potential competition does not seem like a concern to AAA. It fits with their desire to work with CMLL, saying it’ll make both groups stronger. I’m personally unconvinced it’ll work that way, but AAA’s pretty consistent on this.

This is the first six match taping of the year*, so there’s probably not another until 02/23, and maybe 1 or 2 before Rey de Reyes. They’re obviously making a lot of headway on the tournament itself and there’s enough repeated match ups that other stuff may be in place. Texano and Mesias seem to be opposite each other a lot in particular.

Cibernetico and Perro Aguayo have be in the same block of three straight tournaments and have lost without getting pinned the last two times. If it happens again, it’s probably good news for Electroshock.

Tercera is listed as Nueva Generacion AAA. Chessman’s never not new. Like in Toluca, plenty of titles and maybe a title program after that.

Mexican Powers vs Anarquia is a street fight, but it’s also probably every Mexican Power match. No sign of Eterno in action yet.

Aerostar! With probably no one great for him to work against except Apache, so that’s a weird thing. I don’t know if they should swap him and returning Fusion superstar Jinzo, since a women’s 4 match for the Reina de Reinas title seems likely and hte opener is just there to give different guys a chance, but it would be nice if the Space Cadets got to team up – I think the CMLL version has more teamups still, and that should be impossible.

* – assuming there’s not a surprise block 1 to be added to Naucalpan; AAA’s acknowledged there’s something to be announced. This is a very big reach, but AJ Styles doesn’t have a booking that Friday and it’s possible they didn’t have him (or someone like him) locked in when that lineup was announced by may be able to announce him  later on. Shot in the dark.

Leo & Cruz Jr. take Disturbio & Acertijo’s hair, Generacion 2014, Rey Hechicero, Ari Romero, Santo Jr.

5) Volador Jr. b Averno [NWA WELTER]
Volador took falls 2/3, the last with a Spanish Fly, to keep the title.

Too bad Star Jr. & Rebelde didn’t debut a week earlier, they could’ve been in Copa Jr.

6) Rush, Stuka Jr., Titán b Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Virus
Tecnicos took 2/3. Rush beat Terrible.

Negro Casas getting away with a foul to beat you is a proper CMLL introduction.

Nuevo Valores Tuesdays might be a ongoing thing.  It would make sense for next week with the reduced star power. Next week is also a Fan Appreciation show, with some tickets marketed down to 50 and 30 pesos.

CMLL (TUE) 01/07/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]

Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Dragon Lee, Star Jr., Starman DQ El Rebelde, Hechicero, Hooligan

3) Gallo, Smaker, Tritón b Boby Zavala, Misterioso Jr., Shigeo Okumura
Tecnicos took 2/3. Zavala used the ropes to beat Gallo in the first, and Gallo did the same in the third.
4) Javier Cruz Jr. & Leo b Acertijo & Disturbio [hair]
Rudos jumped the tecnicos. Rudos took the first, but Acertijo was caught fouling Cruz in the second. Leo pinned Disturbio in the third. Distubrio and Acertijo got their hair shaved.
5) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero b Atlantis, La Máscara, Máximo
Rudso took 1/3, Niebla getting away with a foul on Niebla.

Niebla/Atlantis feud for everyone!

Hechicero turns out to be Monterrey wizard Rey Hechicero. He’s getting a tryout and isn’t full time. He’s awesome, and CMLL would be foolish to let him go (but I’d bet it depends on what else Rey Hechicero has going on.) Hechicero seems like a more natural tecnico but Hechicero as a rudo would mean things like Rey Hechicero versus Guerrero Maya Jr. are possible and I’ve got no problem with that.

CMLL has a new Facebook page. They list Star Jr. & El Rebelde as part of Generacion 2014, so that class may now be official. As mentioned previously, El Rebelde is Hooligan’s son (ex-Ultimo Rebelede, appeared on one of the lucha libre documentaries helping his father make gear.) Over on the luchawiki, it’s been figured out that Star Jr. is the ex-Star Boy Jr. He was seen in IWRG as part of Tony Rivera’s Neza squad and was wrestling in AULL late last year.

There’s an Ari Romero tribute show on Sunday in Ciudad Juarez. The main event will be Magno, Aereo, Trimegistro vs Fussion, Rey Escorpion (Juarez), and Hurricane Hector, with a Mango vs Ari Romero Jr. singles match as the semi main event.

Santo Jr. says he plans on returning to Japan this summer, then starting his career with TxT after his return. He plans on using the Tempestad name when he starts. Santo Jr. feels more urgency to take up the Santo name sooner with the possibility of his father retiring or even cutting down his career. His original plan was three summers in Japan but may cut it down; his father is telling him to take his time though and he’s going to wait until he’s ready to take the Santo mask before switching to that name. Santo Jr. talks up defending his father in feuds with Hijo del Solitario and Angel Blanco Jr.

Rey Cometa is said to be fully recovered from his forearm fracture in time for the FantasticaMania trip.

DJ Spectro says Mictlan and Rudy Reyna are in both having health issues. He says Mictlan is having kidney problems (and he says it’s due to steroids), while Reyna has had a leg amputated.

Cerebro Negro has also been in the hospital due to bad pneumonia, but is said to be doing better.

LuchaWorld has PosterMania.

Bill has highlights of 10/06/13 CMLL.

Sexy Star says people were claiming it was a fake Sexy Star who wrestled at Guerra de Titanes. This is not true. I don’t think the world could handle two Sexy Stars.

La Jarochita is happy to return to an AAA TV show.

DJ Spectro looks back at Villano I.

Lineups

CMLL (MON) 01/13/2014 Arena Puebla
1) Black Tiger & Meyer vs Disturbio & Inquisidor
2) Camaleón, Flyer, Tigre Rojo Jr. vs Canelo Casas, Espiritu Negro, Fuerza Chicana
3) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Tritón vs Misterioso Jr., Puma, Tiger
4) Blue Panther, Super Porky, Valiente vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Pierroth, Pólvora
5) Atlantis, La Máscara, Shocker vs Mr. Niebla, Rey Bucanero, Terrible

I wasn’t kidding about Atlantis/Niebla feuds for everyone.

That’s Volador’s brother Flyer debuting in the segunda. I saw him on an IWL show in September and he was green but had promise. He’s on the main roster quicker than I figured. The only Espiritu Negro can find Rey Cometa’s brother – you may remember seeing him when Cometa lost his mask – but he’s a bit old for being a rookie so it could be someone else.

CMLL (TUE) 01/14/2014 Arena Mexico
1) Leono & Magnus vs Apocalipsis & Cholo
2) Robin, Soberano Jr., Stigma vs Espanto Jr., Herodes Jr., Inquisidor
3) Hombre Bala Jr., Sagrado, Súper Halcón Jr. vs Cancerbero, Guerrero Negro Jr., Raziel
4) Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Sangre Azteca [lightning]
5) Negro Casas, Puma, Tiger vs Black Panther, Blue Panther, Cachorro
6) Delta, Super Porky, Valiente vs Boby Zavala, Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora

“Boby Zavala as alternate Revolucionario member” would’ve been on a top 5 CMLL forgotten storylines of 2013, but they’ve brought it back for Nuevo Valor Tuesday. Semimain is the (non-super libre) rematch, lightning match will decide which ancient civilization was better for all the times.

CMLL (TUE) 01/14/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Leo vs Ráfaga
2) Dragon Lee, Star Jr., Starman vs El Rebelde, Hechicero, Hooligan
3) Dark Angel, Estrellita, Silueta vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Tiffany
4) Gallo, Smaker, Tritón vs Felino, Gran Guerrero, Virus
5) Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Shocker vs Mr. Niebla, Rey Bucanero, Terrible

Second match is a rematch. Gallo/Zavala issue seems like just a one show thing.
