TxT (SAT) 11/30/2013 Gimnasio Juan De La Barrera [Black Terry Jr. (flickr)Furia de TitanesKaiser SportsR de Rudo]
1) Rossy Moreno b Lady Apache
2) Heddi Karaoui b Negro Navarro [WWA LH]
Match was announced as a title match, but it was not announced which title. It turned out to be for the (vacant) WWA Light Heayweight title, which Karoui won.
3) Villano III & Villano IV b Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan [semifinal, ruleta de la muerte]
4) Cien Caras Jr. & Máscara Año 2000 b Angel Blanco Jr. & Höruz [semifinal, ruleta de la muerte]
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan b Angel Blanco Jr. & Höruz [final, ruleta de la muerte]
6) Angel Blanco Jr. b Höruz [mask]
Angel Blanco puts his hair on the line. Horuz is Moíses Neftaly, from Guadalajara, Jalisco, 7 years a luchador. He was previous known as Hijo del Faraon and Rey Solomon Jr. in Tijuana.
7) El Hijo del Solitario b LA ParkDr. Wagner Jr.
Scheduled to be a tag match with Santo, but he was removed after his injury and they held a three way instead. Santo appeared before the crowd to talk about his possible retirement (saying here he’d have surgery in January and TxT would continue in 2014.) Solitario took advantage of a (Black Terry) ref bump to toss his mask to LA Park and draw the DQ, then got away with a foul on Wagner for the win.

Horuz said he went to TxT to be a main eventer, then lost his mask in months. I guess there are different definitions of being a main eventer. It’s possible they could come back with Wagner/Solitario/Blanco vs Park/Horuz/whoever, but a relatively young guy moving up seems unlikely in this promotion.  It does seem Solitario & Blanco will remain strong here, in holding patterns for Hijo del Santo’s return.

The WWA LH has little history of being a relevant title for any length of time.

The first TxT show of this year was the first weekend of March. The first of 2012 was the last weekend of February. If they are back in 2014, they’ll be back around that time.

CMLL (SUN) 12/01/2013 Arena Mexico [@therealfreado, CMLL, Yahoo! Deportes]
1) Fantasy & Último Dragoncito b Mercurio & Pequeño Nitro
Tecnicos took 1/3 in a below average match.v
2) Dark Angel, Marcela, Silueta b La Seductora, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit
Tecnicas took 1/3.
3) Fuego, Sagrado, Tritón b Bárbaro Cavernario, Puma, Shigeo Okumura
Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) La Máscara, Stuka Jr., Super Porky b Sangre Azteca, Terrible, Vangellys
Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Máximo, Mistico, Thunder b Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Tecnicos took 2/3, Niebla fouling Thunder. Thunder threatened a singles match. Maximo was hurt on landing his apron plancha and stretchered out.
6) Titán b Averno [MEX WELTER]
Averno came in as champion. Averno won the first with a Devil’s rings, Titan took the second with a torito. Titan again collided with the barricade on a tope in a third (for the third straight match between these two), but was able to get his foot on the ropes this time. Averno gave Titan many Devil’s Wings, but Titan surprised him with a small package for the win and title change. Titan is the 72nd champion and a two time champion. Averno falls on his second defense.

My internet speed dropped down to near dial up after the first match and a half, making it impossible to watch (or record) the rest of the show. It sounds like the third match was good and the main event was great. I don’t know for sure who laid out the multi-match storyline of Titan hitting that post and not surviving until he finally did, but those kind of stories seem to be told much more often in Averno matches than other people’s matches.

Titan picking up this title means every member of the unnamed national trios title team is a double champion. They all have the trios titles, Titan has the national welterweight, and La Mascara & Rush have the tag team titles. And no more than that…

(Either the internet problem fixed itself after plenty of time of me trying to fix it, or the TVC feed of Puebla is really low bandwidth because it appears to be recording with no problem.)

CMLL (SUN) 12/01/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) El Piraña & Relampago Azul b Brillante & Meteoro
rudos took 2/3.
2) Idolo & Javier Cruz Jr. DQ Acertijo & Jocker
tencicos took 1/3, the last when Jocker was beat but came back in to attack the tecnicos.
3) Black Metal, El Divino, Virgo b Évola, Magnum, Sádico
tecnicos took 2/3, the lsat when Sadico fouled Divino (who was a sub for either Virgo or Metatron). This sets up Sadico/Divino for next week.
4) Ángel de Oro, Esfinge, Shocker b Euforia, Exterminador, Tiger
tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Rey Escorpión b Rush [CMLL LH]
Escorpion took 2/3 to keep the title, the last by sneaking a foul. Fourth defense.

Rush not having the best of luck in singles matches of late.

Apolo Estrada took Oficial AK47’s hair in IWRG.

Big Mama will be part of a Bigger Loser-type weight loss show for TV Azteca. The show starts tomorrow and runs for three months. She’ll live in a TV house, but says she will still bel able to fulfill her bookings. Big Mama hopes her fans like her for more than her size and continue to support her if she does lose weight.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and a recap of this Wednesday’s Tercera Caida. Eterno mentioned he’ll be out three months due to his foot injury, which sucks. It’s usually the ‘best’ time of year to be hurt if you don’t want to miss too much TV – Eterno could back in 3 or 4 tapings with the normal lack of tapings in December and January. However, if AAA is really premiering on El Rey in March, La Anarquia should be big part of it and it’s possible Juvi might need to find a new temporary member.

ChilangaMask added Freelance versus Suicida versus Belial and Magnifico versus Arez to round out their 12/22 card.

TerceraCaida had another episode Sunday, including an interview with the Solars and the usual after the cameras interview. I don’t vote in any year end awards any more, but if you vote for in one of those and there’s a category for best wrestling show, you ought to be voting for TerceraCaida. If you like lucha libre enough to be reading this site (and this far down into the post), you have to appreciate how good a show it is.

Rob has highlights of 04/19/13 CMLL.

Super Libre had interviews with Lady Apache, Rambo and Gonzalo Lòpez Peralt

Looks like Arena Lopez Mateos has a Dr. Wagner Jr. & La Sombra versus LA Park & Volador Jr. main event on 12/15. LA Park, or someone posting in his name, has been trolling Sombra on Twitter since the Anniversary mask win over Volador and demanding a match. Didn’t think he’d get it. Wagner is the guy responsible for getting Sombra hit shot in CMLL, but was out of the promotion before Sombra really started to take off.

Electrico wants Demus’ hair, but is also willing to give Pierrothito a title shot.

Eric R reviews more Uprising: Lucha Libre. I think Human Tornado was El Snowflake in Nacho Libre.

Cronicas y Leyendas looks back at the 2003 CMLL year end show, a team of the original Mascara Sagrada and the original LA Park, and Rey Bucanero, Ultimo Guerrero and Super Crazy in Japan.

There’s video of a Jack Evans/Lolita vs Pentagon Jr/Taya Valkyrie vs Fenix/Jennifer Blake match from Arena Fusion on Saturday and a channel of DTU Puebla matches.

Aerostar found – in Monterrey on the 15th. That’s TV. Maybe that’s TV, looked like they were airing repeats today.

Lucha Libre In Japan

12/01 NJPW: La Sombra & Naito [O] b Yano & Iizuki [X]
two match winning streak for Sombra and Naito! They’re in the pack at 4 points and probably have to win their last two matches to advance.

11/30 AJPW: Akebono [O] & Yoshinobu b Dark Cuervo [X] & Dark Ozz
12/01 AJPW: Jun Akiyama & Takao Omori [O] b Dark Cuervo [X] & Dark Ozz
0-2! Hope they’re enjoying the vacation.

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 12/08/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Metatrón & Oro Jr. vs Herodes Jr. & Zayco
2) Pegasso, Starman, Stigma vs Boby Zavala, Hooligan, Sangre Azteca
3) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Sagrado vs Misterioso Jr., Namajague, Puma
4) Diamante Azul vs Dragón Rojo Jr. [lightning]
5) Máscara Dorada, Thunder, Valiente vs Averno, Euforia, Tama Tonga
6) Máximo, Rush, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

I have trouble with Rush & Volador being on the same team. They always seemed like guys who really (really) didn’t like the other guy much.

That lightning match is going to be a struggle. It’s not a greatly promising card.

It’s December 8th and Namajague is still here. Maybe NJPW forgot to send the plane ticket? DON’T REMIND THEM.
