Rush defeats Shocker, Wagner/Niebla, Shu/Navarro, EAW, Atlantis on WON HOF

WCS (SUN) 11/10/2013 Coliseo Coacalco [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), El Pancracio]
1) Látigo & Vega Boy b Cáncer & Sacristán del Diablo
2) Belial, Fulgor, Terremoto, Tornado (DF) b Aramis, Epidemia, Hijo del Angel, Ztizan
an XMW vs Coacalco match, Terremoto beat Ztizan.
3) Ojo de Tigre Jr. & Violent Wotan b Arez & Impulso and Metaleon & Mr. Leo and Angel Celestial & Silver Storm
Wotan & Ojo beat Arez & Impulso. Metaleon and Leo are the Lion Brothers.
4) Jaque Mate, Jaque Mate Jr., Tsunami (Coacalco) b Huracan Ramirez, Huracan Ramirez Jr., Ultraman
5) Black Terry b Black Warrior
Warrior explained after his match he was retired from CMLL, but not from lucha libre.
6) Shu el Guerrero b Negro Navarro [UWF SM] highlights (posted by tvluchadelpasado)
originally listed as UWF, no weight class, then revealed to be Shu’s Super Middleweight Championship. Shu submitted Negro Navarro to defend the belt.

Debut show for the promotion. Main event sounds good.

EAW (SUN) 11/17/2013 Centro de Usos Multiples, Hermosillo, Sonora [El Imparcial]
1) Dark Crow, Embajador del Infierno, Misterio de la Muerte b Herson Kid, Meican Wolf, Sagrado Misterio Jr.
2) Bello Juan, Rey Centella, Sexy Alan b Mario Mora, Templario, Wily Cortez
3) Murua Kid & Sol de Oriente b Yako & Yako Jr.
4) Chico Che, Extreme Tiger, Laredo Kid b Estruendo, Tron, Xcalibur
5) Máscara Dorada & Máximo b Animaniac & Lizmark Jr.
6) Hijo de Rey Misterio II, Mistico, Villano III b Latherface, Rey Escorpion (CMLL), Shocker
Shocker replaced Atlantis and sides were changed. Mistica on Rey Escorpion for the win

Only show with results from the EAW, though there are video clips of other shows here and here. Rey Escorpion ended up on the rudo side and the shows do not seem to have drawn well, as expected.

CMLL (SUN) 11/17/2013 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Fuego en el Ring]
1) Aéreo & Fantasy b Pequeño Olímpico & Pierrothito
Pierrothito replaced Nitro.
2) Oro Jr. & Stigma b Boby Zavala & Disturbio
Straight falls for the the tecnicos.
3) Canis Lupus b Guerrero Maya Jr. [IWRG IC WELTER]
Canis Lupus’s first defense. AAA’s Eterno was Lupus’ second, rudo Disturbio was tecnico Maya’s second. Both seconds eventually got thrown out for interfering too much. Maya took the first with his suastica variant, Canis took the second with a reinera, and the third with a nudo to keep the title. Money thrown in after the match.
4) Black Terry, Negro Navarro, Satánico b Blue Panther, Solar I, Super Astro
Brazo de Oro was referee, and argued with Satanico after the rudos won. Satanico attacked Brazo de Oro and left him laid out on the floor.
5) Euforia, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero b La Máscara, Rush, Valiente
La Mascara replaced Marco Corleone (out hurt.) Rudos took 1/3, the last when everyone (but Niebla) was distracted by the arrival of Dr. Wagner, and Niebla fouled Mascara to get the pin. Niebla and Wagner had a 15 minute argument post match (and everyone else left?)

Putting everything else aside – and you’d have to find a pretty big aside to put it all – Mr. Niebla versus Dr. Wagner Jr. is an infinitely more doable mask match than LA Park versus Mr. Niebla. I don’t think that’s actually happening here, but I’m sure it’s been suggested.

They’re not using the Furor name for these shows any more (though it’s the same group behind them; they just don’t have a name.) Weird to see Eterno slip thru; I’d imagine CMLL pays so little attention to AAA that they didn’t even realize he was on AAA TV now.

CMLL (MON) 11/18/2013 Arena Puebla [Cinco Radio, El Popular]
1) Águila Egipcia & Bengala b Akrón & Cholo
2) Pierrothito & Saurón b Asturiano & Blue Center
Blue Center replaced Bam Bam.
3) Cancerbero, Fuerza Chicana, Raziel b Metálico, Pegasso, Tigre Rojo Jr.
Raziel beat Pegasso.
4) Kráneo, Olímpico, Psicosis b Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Stigma
Camorra drove all the way to Puebla just to distract Stigma into a loss. That’s dedication.
5) La Máscara, Titán, Valiente DQ Averno, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla
Niebla stole Valiente’s mask for the DQ. Averno and Titan continued their feud from Sunday.
6) Rush b Shocker
Rush jumped Shocker on the way to the ring, but lost the first fall. (That seems to happen a lot here.) Rush took fall two with a suplex and snuck in a foul in the third.

Tonight’s CMLL Arena Mexico show has Mascara Dorada defending the NWA Welterweight Championship against Volador Jr. In CMLL Gaceta quotes, Dorada wants a mask vs hair match regardless of the outcome, while Volador thinks they should just combine the stips in this match to get it out of the way. (CMLL Gaceta also warns this match may cause cardiac problems.) CMLL title changes in the summer are planned around the Universal tournament, and CMLL title changes in the late fall seem similarly planned around the FantasticaMania tour. Both guys are on that tour, but a title change tonight could be the set up for a rematch (and another title change) in January. This is a pretty even match which always leads me to take the status quo, but you should not be surprised if the NWA Welterweight title changes hands tonight.

The rest of the card is a toss up at best. There was a good sounding Diamante Azul, Delta & Titan versus Hijos del Averno match on the card, but Mephisto and Averno are now replaced by Terrible & Pierroth. (Dalys also replaces Comandante.) Luchadors in tomorrow’s bodybuilding contest will probably be more focused on whatever they need to get into peak shape for that and not as much on tonight’s matches.

Over in Guadalajara, Sombra faces Ultimo Guerrero in his last match before the NJPW tag team tournament.

Ultimo Guerrero and Atlantis were among the luchadors working a show in New York this weekend. Reader Eric got to talk to Atlantis at the show:

I told him that he was in the Observer HOF. He was amazed on how well he did in the voting in comparison to Villano 3, LA Park, Blue Panther, etc. He said a mask VS. mask match with Ultimo Guerrero is going to happen, hinted possibly in March.

At least they still think the mask match is happening.

AAA has the second and third part of their interview with Mesias.

Tinieblas Jr., Oriental, and Mascara Jr. defeated PirataMorgan, Hijo de LA Park (sub for Wagner III), and Hijo del Medico Asesino in the main event of the Arena Azteca Budokan 52nd anniversary match.

Holkan and Yakuza continue to build to a mask match in Arena Lopez Mateos.

No IWRG Sunday lineup yet, but they say it’ll be a Caravana de Campeons show. They may not have announced it because Thursday could be setting the title matches – Douki/Celestial versus Impossible for the lightweight, Golden Magic versus Canis Lupus for the Welterweight, FdT and/or Veneno & Alan Etreme for the tag team title. Dinamic Black isn’t going to be back, so they could vacate that title and have a title match. Piratas haven’t been around so probably not that trios titles (or the middleweight), but maybe the Gringos title?

Hijo de Rey Misterio, Xtreme Tiger, Niebla Roja, Dragon Rojo, and Cassandro are billed as appearing in Atlanta on 12/15

DJ Spectro has a bio of Gran Markus

I got a notice from Comcast that El Rey will launch on my cable system on 12/19. It should be around that time for other Comcast customers. At last word, AAA programming wasn’t expected to be on the channel until spring 2014.

CMLL (SAT) 11/30/2013 Arena Lopez Mateos
1) Aéreo & Astral vs Demus 3:16 & Pierrothito
2) Dallys la Caribeña & Estrellita vs Princesa Blanca & Tiffany

4) Máscara Dorada, Titán, Tritón vs Euforia, Puma, Tiger
5) Máximo, Rush, Super Porky vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

R de Rudo says this is another Brazo de Plata anniversary show. 3/4 look like a lot of fun if those guys want to have a good match on a Saturday match. This lineup had to be put together long enough ago where Dallys as a tecnica made sense, so Demus’ appearance is probably a hopeful outcome and not confirmed.
