UG dropkicked the ref, Wagner fouled UG, UG pulled Wagner’s mask, Wagner rolled him up anyway. Everyone made challenges post match, with Wagner talking about raising an anti-AAA army and invading Arena Mexico.

New location, and attendance seemed to be down.

4) Averno, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla b Blue Panther, Diamante Azul, La Sombra
Panther and Averno feuded. Mephisto & Niebla beat Panther & Azul.
5) Shocker DQ Negro Casas and Rush
Worked as a three way match. Shocker & Negro worked together, but Rush still beat Negro for the first elimination. Rush fouled Shocker for the DQ. Shocker wanted a hair match next week. Rush did not respond. It does sound like they’re in a singles match next week.

As expected, the Pirata Morgans won the IWRG trios titles back in Arena Cuatro Caminos.

Today’s CMLL Arena Mexico show is a 2×1 ticket sale (for rows 11 and back.) Attendance has been dire of late on Tuesdays even by dire Tuesday standards; this is an attempt to get people in the door. Main event is the reunited Estetas versus an Invasor trio of Volador, Kraneo and Olimpico.

The big CMLL show of today is actually in Guadalajara, where Rush gets another chance at Terrible and the heavyweight championship. This is there third match – they met for the vacant title, then again earlier this year where Rush gave up the light heavyweight title to get a shot. (This time, Rush just won for a few weeks.) The heavyweight title in CMLL is the least meaningful heavyweight title in any major promotion, but Terrible versus Rush means something, and CMLL had believed it means enough not to give Rush the big title win yet. It’s possible it may finally happen tonight, in Rush’s home area arena.

Esfinge says he’s dedicated his last three and half months to this bodybuilding contest. Apparently the judges decide day of the contest which group (beginner, intermediate, advanced) the luchadors belong in, which is probably why people are so upset about those distinctions after the contest.

  1. Oscar mentioned Perro Jr’s part of the main cast, with his name in the opening credits of the telenovela. Clearly trying to catch Marco in the race for “Best Luchador Performance in a Telenovela” award. :)

  2. And Marco is a russian in his novela. Everyone knows Russian hitmen are ten times scarier than Mexican luchadors, which I assume Perro Aguayo plays.
