recap

taped 2013-10-01 @ Arena Mexico

that didn’t work out for Diamante

Diamante, Pegasso, Starman vs Cancerbero, Ishii, Raziel: I feel like I’ve said everything I needed to say about how pointless Ishii’s trip was, but – he was working against Pegasso, Diamante and Starman! They had him in Nosferatu’s spot! That is not a badge of honor. That’s a pox on your family. Match was much longer than it really needed to be but a normal segunda for the time.

Triton one legged springboard moonsault

Tag Team Tournament: This block didn’t really have anything like a full length match. Some of them, like Felino/Niebla & Maximo/Porky, were attempts to fit as many normal spots they could in 1/5th the time, but that doesn’t really work. Averno & Mephisto vs Mascara Dorada & Titan predictably looked like it’d be a really good match if they had the time. And there were also the usual bits where the losing team dominated the entire match except for the last five seconds, which is more silly than surprise at this point. The most interesting match was the first regular match. Iit was pretty amazing to see a one legged Triton till snail his dive. He did a better job with that super tricky dive than Morphosis did on the top rope splash for the finish.

double springboard moonsault

Ángel de Oro, La Sombra, Valiente vs Euforia, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.: Minimum main event; enough not be cheated, and enough to know it was a Tuesday show and they were just doing a match to do it. This was strange to be short when the other trios match shown went long, but that’s just the way they do it. I don’t Sombra can do anything but wait out the negative reaction, but he’s clearly going to get nothing but it for the time being. Seems like a problem for every young técnico who wins the Anniversary main event to end being booed by most of the crowd.

Volador finds a new way to stop the double moonsault
