Mini Abismo major powerbomb

Dinastía & Mascarita Sagrada vs Mini Abismo Negro & Mini Charly Manson: Really good minis match. Strange set up for where they were going next; Mini Abismo spent the first third of the match feuding with Mascarita Sagrada and didn’t work a lot with Dinastía until the finish. Finish was still good for next week. Mascarita Sagrada, assuming they haven’t made another switch, looked a lot better in this match than his past appearances, puling off tricky stuff rather well. Mini Charly looked really good on offense, though he and Dinastía were a little off when it came to Dinastía’s offense (and Mini Charly’s dive.) Still, this was a really fun match and the title match should be good times.

Drago tornillo

Aerostar & Drago vs Cuervo & Scoria and Eterno & Steve Pain: Better three way match than last week; there were a couple iffy moments but it was altogether much smoother. They also managed to tell a story about La Secta wanting not even the slightest bit of help from the other rudos. La Secta seemed to have less impressive spots than other two teams, but they looked much more serious and aggressive than last week. Drago & Aerostar (new dives!) looked really good and Eterno & Steve Pain were strong as usual. New gimmicks can’t get here soon enough for those two, because Eterno looks very generic without his mohawk. This was a strong match from this group of guys.

crazy new Eterno dive

Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver King, Texano Jr.: Felt like just another Consejo vs Psycho Circus match with strange rules. I guess the idea of the wrong guys getting pinned in this match is to make sure the people understand the rules, but if the people don’t understand the rules to begin with, then it just seems confusing. If they do understand the rules, everyone definitely looks dumb. Maybe they could’ve just had Psycho beat Texano without the weird stipulation.

Steve Pain crushed

Cibernético, El Mesías, La Parka vs Chessman, Ozz, Parka Negra: A lackadaisical main event where the rudos didn’t seem interested in doing anything at all. Ozz was far more passive than his partners earlier (and really his partners during the beatdown) and the rudos got just enough offense to set up the técnicos next move. It dragged at parts, especially when all three rudos were merely holding the técnicos on the ropes for ‘chokes’ at the same time, and never really got deeper than a chance for the técnicos to show off their offense. Rudos couldn’t even get a cheap win this week. Another missed opportunity. Post match beatdown was more effective but La Secta ended up running away scared of the técnicos in the end so I dunno. Despite my complaints, the técnicos were way over (as were most of the técnicos on this show – usual strong Toluca crowd.)
