great match roundup, week of 2013-08-24

Great/Excellent Matches
CMLL on Televisa: 2013-08-24
taped 2013-08-16 @ Arena Mexico
La Sombra vs Volador Jr. in a super libre match: GREAT.
(the Blue Panther match was very good but felt it left too much on the table. May be too picky here.)

Shows Watched But Nothing Made The List

Astro Rey Jr. & Mr. Leo vs Alan Extreme & Imposible from IWRG almost made the list.

CMLL (TUE) 09/10/2013 Arena Mexico [Black Terry Jr. (flickr)]
1) Leono & Metatrón b Cholo & Inquisidor
Metatron was double listed, worked here instead of Guadalajara.
2) Hombre Bala Jr., Starman, Súper Halcón Jr. b Guerrero Negro Jr., Hijo del Signo, Nosferatu
3) Diamante, Pegasso, Tritón b Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Puma
Tecnicos took 1/3. Puma won the second fall for the rudos, but kicked Isis by mistake in the process. She was strechered out. Diamante beat Puma with a Code Red in the third.
4) Marcela b Princesa Blanca [lightning]
Marcela won in 8:10 but was left bleeding by Blanca.
5) Ephesto, Gran Guerrero, Virus b Ángel de Oro, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr.
6) Diamante Azul, La Máscara, Shocker b Pierroth, Terrible, Tiger
Shocker pinned Terrible, challenged him to a heavyweight title match for next week. Terrible accepted.

Title match was actually foreshadowed last week, but lost in Rush being Rush.

CMLL (TUE) 09/10/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) Black Metal & Virgo b Évola & Magnum
Tecnicos took 1/3. Black Metal replaced Metatron (double listed in Arena Mexico.)
2) Maléfico & Nitro b Leo & Magnus
Rudos took 1/3.
3) Amapola, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany b Dalis la Caribeña, Estrellita, Goya Kong
Rudas took 1/3. Amapola beat Estrellita with her feet on the rope. Estrellita demanded a rematch next week.
4) Máximo, Super Porky, Valiente b Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión, Vangellys
tecnicos won 1/3 in the Super Porky match.
5) Atlantis, Blue Panther, La Sombra DQ Averno, Mephisto, Volador Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3. Volador was caught fouling Sombra.

Estrellita and Amapola being set up to feud hints at a result for Estrellita vs Sugheit this Sunday.

AAA posted the official lineup San Luis Potosi for 10/02. KrisZ found this a ways back, but the poster ads a stipulation. The Axel & Fenix vs Pentagon Jr. & Ultimo Gladiador vs Escoria & Espiritu tag match is said to determine the third challenging teams to the tag team titles. I didn’t know we had the two others! The main event on that show is also a three way tag match but has no such stipulation. That leaves the other two teams who three way tag matches in the last month: Angelico & Jack Evans (Naucalpan) and Aerostar & Drago (Toluca.) They, and the winners in SLP will probably face the Mexican Powers at Heroes Inmortales. It’s three tecnico teams, so it seems likely a rudo team will be added to balance it a bit. It depends on what the plans are for La Secta.

Maybe this will all begin to be explains when Naucalpan airs this week? It’s a secret tournament so far.

Mistico says the fans have started to accept him as being unique (???) and want to keep the trios titles so he can be champion on his birthday (the 15th.)

Como Estaz: Episode 0

As alluded to elsewhere, I’m trying out podcasting for the week. I hadn’t set the difficulty level high enough already, obviously. In this test podcast, I ramble on about the plans for the site for the week.
