Gringos VIP win trios titles, Dinamic Black & Golden Magic draw

IWRG (SUN) 09/08/2013 Arena Naucalpan [IWRG]
1) Astro Rey Jr. & Emperador Azteca b Fulgor I & Fulgore II
2) Dragón Celestial, Imposible, La Sádica b Bugambilia, Cristal, Seiya
3) Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Rayan, Spartan b Centvrión, Dr. Cerebro, Veneno
Veneno karate chopped the referee by accident, and Mascara fouled Veneno for the win.
4) Dinamic Black DCOR Golden Magic [IWRG IC WELTER]
Dinamic Black came in as champion. Golden Magic won the first fall with a Spanish Fly, Dinamick Black took the second with a powerbomb, and both were down on the outside for a draw. Golden Magic demanded another shot. Fourth defense.
5) Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo DQ Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. [EdM Trios]
Moved to main event. Gringos took 2/3, the last when Hijo del Diablo fouled Pirata Sr. and faked his own foul. Ref called the DQ on the Piratas and title changes hand on DQ. Piratas fall in their second defense, but still are IWRG IC trios champions.

A great day for America! I half paid attention to the first two matches and was long gone by the title matches, so no idea how they were (and recap doesn’t give many clues.)

IWL airs today at 4:30pm on TVC Deportes. Tercera Caida is listed at 9pm on Wednesday.

A long ESPN the Magazine piece on Maximo (and Miss Gaviota.) Shocker is credited for first suggesting Maximo should work as an exotico. I’m not sure if it’s a byproduct of the recent Los Exoticos documentary, but there’s a run of exotico based articles by big outlets in the last few weeks.

LuchaWorld has a recap of the UIPW show with CMLL luchadors.

AAA will interview Drago, Super Fly and Argenis tonight.

Terra has a slide show of the 80 previous anniversary shows (in theory.)

This week’s Super Libre includes interviews with Rudy Santana, Satanico and photographer Gonzalo Lopez Peralta.

Ohtani’s Jacket recaps random lucha libre.

Lucha Libre in Japan

09/08 REINA: Chik Tormenta won her (singles) match too.

Lineup

CMLL FUROR (SUN) 09/22/2013 Arena Naucalpan
1) Eléctrico & Último Dragoncito vs Mercurio & Pequeño Olímpico
2) Estrellita & Goya Kong vs Amapola & Tiffany
3) Centvrión, Dinamic Black, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Comando Negro, Puma (CMLL), Tiger

CMLL is back in Arena Naucalpan, but this looks like a one-off show with a sponsor/promoter and not a affiliation switch. It’s possible that’s the first time they do the tag match rematch, but it’s also possible they do it on the 20th in Arena Mexico first.

This should air on AYM. Not really sure what’s airing on AYM this upcoming Sunday.
