Eléctrico & Último Dragoncito vs Pequeño Olímpico & Pierrothito: Perfectly fine opening minis match; maybe a little more than that because the rudos did more. Still annoying because they set up the spots to do dives and then just didn’t (couldn’t) do them. Pierrothito looked completely fine and uninjured and weirdly doing familiar técnico spots which gave me all sorts of ideas of what could be going on. None of them are probably right, but it sure looks like they could’ve had whoever beat Pierrothito for his title rather than do a title tournament.
Diamante Azul, La Máscara, Shocker vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Mephisto: Very ordinary trios match with not much going for it if you have already seen the técnicos trios matches a 100 times. (You’re good if you’ve only seen them 99 times!) Mostly just a spotlight match for those tecnicos
Blue Panther, Rush, Super Porky vs Averno, Negro Casas, Rey Escorpión: CMLL version of a chaotic brawl, though this one was very unfocused and not dramatic. There were no reasons for momentum to change, one side just stopped taking punches and starting making them. Negro/Rush was still good and there were good moments but it wasn’t much as coherent match.
