Astral wacky bounce moonsault

Höruz & Oro Jr. vs Guerrero Negro Jr. & Ramstein: Better than average opener. Oro is crazy, and they don’t even let him do dives most of the time. (Though he did get in a flip to the apron.) Guerrero Negro Jr. is good and the other guys were fine. The stuff with the tags is beyond annoying; I wish the refs wouldn’t be strict, but it’s beyond time for the luchadors to adjust to it.

Astral, Eléctrico, Fantasy vs Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito: better than average mini match. Astral and Eléctrico as a mini team would be fun in a promotion that did minis teams (or minis matches besides trios and singles matches.) Fantasy set them up well. Rudos were not so interesting the first time they had control of the match, but the finish was nice.

Punch? Clothesline?

Delta, Diamante, Hijo del Fantasma vs Cancerbero, Nosferatu, Raziel: A professional trios match. Nothing bad, not superb either. There’s been better matches of Raziel & Cancerbero taking out people, but there was enough here from everyone that the crowd was very pleased and the guys that are sometimes determinants (Nosferatu & Delta) were not. I’ve grown to really dislike the Phantom Attack, because it requires the rudos to be complete morons for about 10 seconds – like here, where everyone in the building knew the spot was coming well before it happened, and the rudos just weren’t allowed to react at all – and it would really be nice if Fantasma didn’t have to do that every match to get a reaction. He does, so he does.

La Máscara, Super Porky, Thunder vs Gran Guerrero, Mr. Niebla, Terrible: La Mascara has been involved in a lot of good matches. It’s not his fault, he’s stuck with Thunder and Pierroth (and here Niebla, who seemed to be taking some of Pierroth’s bookings.) He’s also not helping, since he’s doing his same sequence in every single match, but it’s the stuff like Thunder having problems with the concept of a clothesline which are really a problem here. Niebla couldn’t catch his own spit, that’s what match this was. At least it was way short; this was not one of those two fall matches that go for three fall lengths.

Mascara Dorada can fly

Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto: A really good match, though it felt like they had an even better match in them should they need it someday. Tecnicos feel like a team and did some outsanding matches. The Averno/Dorada stuff was good for next week. Tecnicos really had Ephesto scouted – they countered his counter dive and his counter rollup!
