Polvora beat Delta clean with his valagueza into a front cracker in 8:08.
5) Atlantis, Blue Panther, Super Porky b Boby Zavala, Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión
Tecnicos took 1/3.
6) Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente b Negro Casas, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero
Tecnicos are Estetas del Aire this week. Mistico submitted Ultimo Guerrero. Dorada/Casas was played down this week.

Said to be a very strong show. I wasn’t able to record any of it.

Announcers were hyping up the En Busca de un Idolo vote totals. As of right now, Vangelis had 62,000 votes, leading the way. Those would be very impressive totals if they were individual voters. They are not – they are people using very easy methods to vote multiple times in a very short of time. We’re talking hundreds of votes a minute. (I know, because I did that last year and nothing’s changed.) It’s nice to see Hijo del Fantasma and others campaign for votes, but all their  Twitter and facebook posts aren’t going to do near as much as someone with coding ability and 15 minute to burn. This whole conversation is a repeat from last year, and we’re no closer to figuring out if CMLL actually believes these vote totals (which would be naive), if CMLL does not but goes with because it sounds good (which would be promoting) or if some of CMLL is fooling the other part of CMLL here (which would be interesting.)

CMLL (SUN) 05/19/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]

Evola’s team took the first, Azteca de Oro’s team took the second, no mention of third fall finish.

2) Black Terry DDQ Arkángel de la Muerte
Started out as a mat wrestling battle, but Isis got involved a few minutes in. Arkangel hit the ref by mistake, Black Terry went for his mask, Skandalo ran in to help Arkangel and the Traumas made the save for Terry.

Good mat wrestling back when Trauma I accidentally fouled Virus. challenges filed.

Silueta was originally scheduled, but pulled a few days before the show. Christina Von Eeire pulled Tormenta’s mask and rolled her up for the win.
6) Rey Bucanero b Masada [super libre]
Rey Bucanero was announced as replacement for Rush a few days before. They kept it on the mat to start, then graduated to bigger moves. Aero Boy got involved for the DQ.
7) Masada b Aero Boy [super libre]
Aero challenges Masada to a hardcore match and Masada accepted immediately. They had a violent match, which Masada won.
8) Negro Navarro DQ Negro Casas
Casas desperately fouled Navarro and was belatedly caught.

If you ever wanted to know what the finishes would look like on an AAA vs CMLL show with singles matches, it’s probably this. Matches sounded like they were generally good up to that point.

AULL anniversary and Rey del Ring full results to come (what was with today and the level of shows?), but we do know Cerbero Maligno lost his mask in AULL and Oficial 911 won Rey del Ring. That one means Factor has gone from two titles to none in a short amount of time.

TVC Deportes says it’s IWRG who currently doesn’t want to renew their contract with the cable network. This happens from time to time, and more often when they have another TV deal.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Rob has highlights of late December 2002,  AAA 04/05/08 and AAA 04/16/08.

Bill has highlights of IWRG FILL 04/17/12.

  1. Yes, I was one of the people who watched that CMLL show and it was tremendous. I would agree with Fredo – probably the best complete Sunday show they’ve run since the Terra feeds started. Lots of it had to do with the big crowd they had (partially sold show? Someone on twitter mentioned a juice company had their employees & employee’s families in attendance). The entire lower/mid levels were full. Wrestlers seemed to be working extra hard thanks to the great crowd reactions. In fact the only match that actually sorta felt mailed in was the main event of all things. I’m pretty sure the Dorada/Casas feud was put on hold just to make the crowd happy by doing the generic sponsor show main event where tecnicos shine and La Mistica wins. I’m all for more of these sponsored shows on Sunday if it means this kind of atmosphere!
