Ultimo Guerrero pins Atlantis, Black Warrior, AAA in Toluca

CMLL (MON) 04/29/2013 Arena Puebla [El Popular]
1) Blue Center & Siki Ozama Jr. b Milenium & Tigre Rojo
2) Hijo del Signo, Hooligan, Nitro b Metálico, Starman, Stigma
Newspaper says Nitro pinned Metalico with his feet on the ropes.
3) Blue Panther, Hijo del Fantasma, Rey Cometa b Felino, Puma, Tiger
No mention of any problem between Puma & Tiger.
4) Diamante Azul, La Máscara, Shocker b Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión
Shocker submitted Dragon Rojo.
5) Negro Casas, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Máscara Dorada, Titán
Titan replaced Sombra. Tecnicos took 2/3. Ultimo Guerrero tried to submit Atlantis with the Atlantida, Atlantis escaped and small packaged him for the win.

Sombra was working an outdoor show in Tepic.  Looks like it drew well.

Diamante Azul & Titan replace Marco Corleone & Thunder tonight in Arena Coliseo Guadalajara. Not sure why Marco was listed (except they make these lineups out well in advance.) I’m amused by this idea that Titan is an underground luchador who never gets advertised, like he’s a secret character in a video game.

There’s a rumor Black Warrior has retired. He hasn’t been on CMLL cards since the end of February. Warrior has had large periods of inactivity in recent years and even if he’s actually retired, it would be no surprise to see him pop up again. He has seemed like a guy very disinterested in working meaningless midcard matches, but that’s all CMLL has had for him for the last couple years.

Fresero Jr.’s Facebook mentions he’s working a taped for TV show on 05/30 in Toluca. I’ve heard that date and location would likely be another TV taping, so that confirms it. If it’s a Sin Limite taping, it’s the shows airing the day of TripleMania and the week after, though the only people who know for sure what the deal is with AAA TV work for AAA.

The NJPW recap of the Cometa/Namajague match mentions Okumura was promising a big star from Japan as reinforcements. Okumura is always kind of saying that, but a heavyweight from Japan coming over during May’s NJPW Best of Super Juniors tournament would make sense and it’s the kind of thing that’d be announced at their PPV next week. NJPW also announced they’d be running a PPV in Akita in July, which is Namajague’s home town.

AJPW’s Seiya Sanda is possibly coming to Mexico for an excursion. The two AJPW young guys who came to Mexico a month ago haven’t been mentioned as working anywhere. I did hear they were at the AAA TV taping in Leon, but they didn’t appear.

Lineups

CMLL (MON) 05/06/2013 Arena Puebla
1) Meyer & Tigre Rojo vs Ares & El Malayo
2) Camaleón, Höruz, Magnus vs Artillero, Súper Comando, Taurus
3) Dalis la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Luna Mágica vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit
4) Blue Panther, Diamante Azul, Thunder vs Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Terrible
5) Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
Tecnicos are listed as Los Cadetes del Aire

That main event trios name is probably just hype for the match, but I’d survive Mistico if it meant Dorada & Valiente as a regular team. There are better people than Mistico II, but if you just look at the other tecnicos names on the card, there are a lot of worse people than Mistico II.

  1. Just for the sake of discussion…

While I certainly think that it would be insane to attempt, there isn’t really a bigger match you could do for masks than Wagner vs Park… except Santo vs Demon of course. If Wagner/Park, or perhaps even Santo have a money-mark big enough to put this match into the realm of possibility, … What would be on the checklist for running Wagner vs Park at Plaza Monumental?
