Volador will not team with Misticos, double apuesta match in Guadalajara, TxT

CMLL (SUN) 04/14/2013 Arena Coliseo [CMLL on Terra]
1) Apocalipsis & Camorra b Bengala & Camaleón
Rudos took 2/3, Camorra submitting Camaleon and Apocalipsis doing the same to Bengala.
2) Arkángel de la Muerte, Bobby Zavala, Nosferatu b Magnus, Soberano Jr., Super Halcón Jr.
Rudos took 2/3, Arkangel beating Soberano with a spinning powerbomb.
3) Metálico b Hijo del Signo [lightning]
Metalico used a headscissors armbar to submit Hijo del Signo in a match that fell of badly in the second half.
4) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa DQ Misterioso Jr., Puma, Shigeo Okumura
Tecnicos took 2/3, the last when Namajague attacked Cometa as he was going for the 450. Namajague ranted in Japanese after and demanded a hair vs hair match.
5) Marco Corleone, Rush, Thunder b Ephesto, Felino, Terrible
Tecnicos took 1/3, including Thunder beating Terrible again.
6) Averno, Máximo, Mephisto b Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. [Relevos Increíbles]
Maximo worked as a rudo, and his team took the first fall. Volador pinned Averno took the second. Mistico got La Mistica on Averno in the second, but Volador broke it up, pulled off his mask (not a DQ?) and the rudos covered for the win. Volador and Mistico made challenges post match.

They announced the next two Sunday shows would be at Arena Mexico and they’d be back at Arena Coliseo on 05/05. That slightly confused me, because I could’ve sworn RadioCMLL was giving away tickets for a 05/05 Arena Mexico show this past Friday. Must’ve misunderstood something on that giveaway.

It does seem like CMLL’s headed to a Volador/Mistico match on one of those two Sundays, which should be entertaining for the reactions even beyond the wrestling matches. Fans were more receptive to Mistico here. Volador called him a  cheap copy after the match, then went on Facebook to explain he didn’t care won or lose, just proved he was better.

My hunch is the Rey Cometa/Namajague feud exists as emergency back up plan if something happens with Shocker or Mr. Aguila. A mask loser losing his hair quickly after is something which might have been seen in IWRG in past years (though not as much recently), but it’s nothing CMLL has done in a long time and Cometa losing doesn’t make a lot of sense either. On the other hand, they’re pushing this feud hard and quick, and Friday’s lightning match stuck out as unusual; there’s usually not an undercard singles match when they’re running a tournament.

CMLL (SUN) 04/14/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) El Piraña b Meteoro
2) Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno b Halcón de Plata & Javier Cruz
Truenos took 1/3.
3) Azteca de Oro DQ Demonio Rojo
Hippie and Sadico were seconds and got involved, as did Acetijo & Black Metal. Rudos eventually got DQed. A Hippie & Azteca de Oro vs Sadico & Acertijo mask/hair double apuesta match was set up for 04/28.
4) Leo, León Blanco, Smaker DQ Olímpico, Sangre Azteca, Virus
GDL vs DF. Staraight falls for the hometown team, the first by excessive violence on Smaker, the second because Sangre Azteca fouled Leo and Olimpico pulled Leon Blanco’s mask. Sangre demanded a shot at Leo’s Occidente Welterweight Championship next week, while Leon Blanco wants a shot at Olimpico’s Occidente heavyweight championship on 04/28.
5) Ángel de Oro, Diamante Azul, Gallo b Bárbaro Cavernario, Dragón Rojo Jr., Ráfaga
Tecnicos took 1/3, Azul submitting Rojo in the third.

The rudos are slight favorites in the double apuesta match.

  1. Just was wondering on the upcoming Perros del Mal show if El Blazer was Sugi San (aka many various other gimmicks) since other Japanese fellows were on the card, or if this was a new El Blazer altogether.

Haven’t heard much of what happened with Sugi after the Nosawa painting marijuana deal…
