CMLL on CadenaTres: 2013-03-16

recap

taped 2013-03-12 @ Arena Mexico

Raziel submits Fuego

Fantasy, Shockercito, Último Dragoncito vs Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito: going thru the motions match with a lame out of nowhere finish. There was no reason for a foul there except that was the finish (probably); they didn’t set up any reason why Violencia might want to foul Shockercito, they just kind of had a match. Some of the guys here are too talented to have a bad match, but they couldn’t even bothered to do a proper comeback; it was not the greatest off effort.

Soberano moonsault dive

Fuego, Pegasso, Starman vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus: better than the average C3 midcard tercera because of more complicated finishes (both the moves and the circumstances leading up to the moves), and a crowd that got into the match. Not a super match, but enough. Pegasso as guy who headscissors cradles in odd ways is at the very least a needed distinguishing characteristic (especially since his old dive seems to be gone with his knee ligaments.) More people need gimmicks like that.

Soberano’s winning moonsault

Soberano Jr. vs Taurus [Sangre Nueva, final]: Good given their experience level. This was all whatever spots they could think of to do for this match, and not the knowledge to use them in ways that make a lot of sense – they didn’t try the moves that won them the first couple of falls again – but most of what they tried worked okay. The finish was clearly not the original plan; whatever was supposed to happen on the top rope fell apart before it was clear what it was, and it wasn’t the only spot like that. They both have to be cleaner with what they’re trying to do, but considering they were two rookies together, they kept it together well. They did let the big moves mean something in the last fall by not just rapidly burning thru them, and they never looked lost.

press powerbomb

Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Valiente vs Morphosis, Mr. Águila, Psicosis: a match that made sense! Rudos won because they are an actual and knew each other enough to work like a well oiled machine in the closing sequence. There were good trio sequences, and there was the usual bit of differently laid out falls you normally get in a Blue Panther match. The match was on the short side, but they packed a lot into it, and I’d take more of these happily.

Ultimo Guerrero suplexes Marco Corleone

Marco Corleone, Rush, Shocker vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero: standard main event bit. Everyone with two healthy knees (not so much Rush) did their usual things. It was not bad, it was not something you haven’t seen or that I have anything interesting to stay.

  1. Catching up with the Fight Network airing this week in Canada on Sunday Morning 11am EST (original airing would’ve been Monday at 8pm) on the Fighting Spirit show there was a 6 man from NJPW with

    Jado/Gedo/Averno vs. Apollo 55 (Devitt & Taiguchi) & Mistico

the 2nd match was from CMLL and was a Trios Title Match

2010-10-29 Arena Mexico 6 of 6: La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada b El Alebrije, Olímpico, Psicosis [CMLL TRIOS] *

CMLL Mini Extravaganza looked to be reruns sometimes the TFN does this when it’s gonna be a big raw post PPV

Show 1: 2010-02-12 Arena Mexico 2 of 6: Bam Bam, Bracito de Oro, Fantasy DQ Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior

    Focusing on the Warrior/Bracito feud.

Show 2: 2010-02-19 Arena Mexico 2 of 6: Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito b Bracito de Oro, Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada *

Pierothito almost ate it on his head with a mis-timed cactus roll from the apron/entranceway. Fans seemed pleased with Warrior, Bracito hit a sweet tope con giro to the outside towards the finish.

I was actually in for a day shift, and caught some of the FIghting Spirit’s new episode this week at 8pm, it was mainly Sumo Hall NJPW, and Nakamura vs. Takayama from WK a few years back, sandwiched in between those matches was a a lighting match from CMLL

2011-02-04 Arena Mexico 4 of 6: Olímpico b Hijo del Fantasma [lightning]
