Delta submission

Delta vs Puma in a lightning match: short – and even shorter on TV strangely – but good fun for the time they had. The submission at the end was nice. Puma probably could’ve used some more offense, but he got the interview time after anyway. It sorts of makes up for it.

Mije learns never to stop a dive

Fuego, Guerrero Maya Jr., Stuka Jr. vs Misterioso Jr., Namajague, Shigeo Okumura: Another okay/good match between these two teams. This feels like the Cometa/Puma feud last year, but those matches generally seemed better; there’s been a couple really good ones here, but the focus has been less on the body of the matches and more on the cheating finishes. I hope they have room for both on the final. At this point – when I wrote this recap and this blurb here – it sure seemed like they’re doing the Arena Coliseo Tag Team title rematch at some point, and that might be some of both as well.

one legged tope con giro

Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush vs Kráneo, Mr. Águila, Psicosis for the CMLL World Trios Championship: Disappointing finish to a match that was really heating up. The fall Máximo takes is not one people usually take in that situation, so either Máximo decided to be innovative at an odd time or the finish just went awry and we missed out on whatever the finish was going to be (probably just a few seconds later since Psicosis was the captain and everyone had done their dives.) The first match of this feud might have been the best, but there was no lack of effort here and it’s just unfortunate 2/3rds of the champions were limited by the end of this match. Rush spent minutes unable to walk on two legs, and still did a tope con giro. I don’t know you can boo this man, he is fantastic. There are plenty of potential fun técnico trios for the Invasors to defend their trios titles against, I hope it’s not too long before we get to see more out of them.
