3) Devil Rocker, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker b Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
Rockers powerbombed Monster thru a table for the win.
4) El Mesías b Heavy MetalLa ParkaParka NegraOctagónPentagón Jr. [Rey de Reyes, semifinal]
Group 2 was the first group to have a match. No reason. Pentagon Jr. & Parka Negra pinned Octagon, Metal pinned Pentagon Jr. and Mesias pinned Parka Negra, Heavy Metal, and La Parka in order for the win.
5) LA Park b Jack EvansVillano IVPsicosisDragoChessman [Rey de Reyes, semifinal]
Second group to happen, though referred to as group 3. Chessman pinned Drago, Psicois pinned Jack, Villano IV beat Jack Evans, V4 pinned Chessman (after a LA Park chair shot) and V4 beat La Park. V4’s cut from the day before reopend, and LA Park riped his mask.
6) Canek b el Hijo del Perro AguayoCibernéticoElectroshockSilver KingToscano [Rey de Reyes, semifinal]
Canek was announced as the mystery person for this match. Toscano beat Silver King, Electroshock beat Toscano, Perro Aguayo was DQed for a chair shot on Cibernetico (???), Cibernetico was counted out after putting Perro thru a table on the outside, and Canek beat Electrshock to advance.
7) Fabi Apache b Mari ApacheTaya ValkyrieLuFisto [Reina De Reinas, final]
Vacant title. LuFisto submitted Mary, Faby pinned Taya (after a missed moonsault), and Faby Tiger suplexes LuFisto to win the title. It’s her second reign.
8) Texano Jr. b Blue Demon Jr. [AAA HEAVY]
Texano Jr. is champion and beat Demon to keep the title. Third defense (first announced prior to the show). Demon gave him credit for the win, asked for a rematch, and then asked for a mask vs hair match should he win. (Not happening.)
9) El Mesías b CanekLA Park [Rey de Reyes, final]
Canek was eliminated first (and seemingly quickly) by both other wrestlers, and Mesias beat LA Park for the win and the sword. Mesias tried to win via Spanish Fly, but the move failed and Park appeared to hurt his left leg. Mesias did his normal top rope splash instead.

Midway thru the show, a video with Marisela Pena aired, explaining her decision on Dorian’s firing. Dorian (and presumably Konnan) is no longer fired. Instead, they’re creating two brands: Joaquin will lead AAA Fusion and Dorian will lead AAA Evolucion, and both will promote their own shows.

Perro came out late in the show (during the music performance) and demanded a hair match with Cibernetico, or he’d leave the company. Cibernetico and Joaquin accepted it, and it’s set for TripleMania. Attendance estimated at 11-12KAir Date: 03/30 & 04/06 and other times?

There’s clearly other people in the locals dark match, but they’re not visible in the pictures posted so far.

LuchaMania Monterrey says the building was 90% full.

(AAA recap doesn’t actually mention the Fusion match, oops. )

There’s not a lot on how the matches actually went. Perro vs Cibernetico is going to sell a lot of tickets. They’ll probably do more for TripleMania, but they don’t have to do much more. They did a pull apart brawl after the match announcement with members of the Secta Bizarros and the Perros.

It sounded like the Fusion/Evolucion split was a roster split last night, but that is not mentioned in the AAA recap. Evolucion, Dorian’s group, looks like it’s going to end up being the US/away team, and Fusion is the Mexico/home team. There’s not much about how this will work, if the Fusion name means the Fusion title and TV show are specially involved, or when these two groups will start putting on their own shows. The AAA US group is not going to be running AAA US shows until the end of 2013, so they’ve got many months to develop this idea.

LuFisto’s messages on Twitter say she’s headed home, and she hopes to be back.

AAA’s recap doesn’t mention Demon’s mask vs hair challenge. It’s not happening. They didn’t explicit y say Mesias vs Texano for the Mega title at TripleMania, but that’s the best guess.

There’s not much notes on the actual quality of the matches.

Next taping is 03/29 in Arena Naucalpan.

  1. I attended to Rey de Reyes and the Dark Match was:
Dralion, Rey Orion & Sick Boy defeated Gemelo Muerte I, Gemelo Muerte II & Rico Rodriguez

  2. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but Time Warner Deportes in Los Angeles has cmll on right now.

  3. @thecubsfan: The show was great! The people was given completely to Blue Demon Jr., Cibernetico, Canek, Villano and L.A. Park.

At finish of Semi Main Event, Blue Demon Jr. asked Texano Jr. for a rematch for AAA World Heavyweight Title match, Demon says if he win the title, both wrestlers should make things more interesting and challenged a Mask vs Hair Match.

  4. @Groden: I can’t find any mention of Jarrett appearing outside of KrisZ’s report, and Jarrett’s Twitter account makes it sound as if he was at home watching ESPN.

  5. Thecubsfan, more information about the event:

    9) El Mesías b Canek, LA Park [Rey de Reyes, final]
    — El Mesías and LA Park were allied to finished with Canek. LA Park pinned Canek after unmasked him, in action no saw by the referee. El Mesías beat LA Park after a failed Spanish Fly, where Park injured his left leg and Mesias won the tournament.

Mexican Rap group Cartel de Santa went to the ring and sing the Hijo del Perro Aguayo theme named “Perros”. When Perrito and Cibernetico were challenged for hair match, all members of Cartel de Santa attacked Cibernetico, Ozz and Cuervo.

  6. Any idea on whose symbol was replacing Corona’s on the ring?

That video you put up of the finish between Park/Messias looked brutal. Felt bad for Park

  7. @CM93: I for one have no idea. But I was thinking that maybe AAA could not display Corona on the canvas because Monumental is a Carta Blanca/Tecate venue.

In the past it did not matter but maybe that has changed.

  8. That actually makes perfect sense. In ’08 RdR they had the huge AAA logo on the mat replacing the Corona logo.

  9. @Mike09: Thanks a lot for the detailed recap. I’ve updated the results with your help. Appreciated.
