recap

taped 2013-02-03 @ Palenque de la Feria, Pachuca, Hidalgo

weekly Flamita tornillo?

Bugambilia, Centvrión, Rocky Lobo vs Flamita, Lanzeloth, Lucky Boy: A DTU Alto Impacto match on a AAA show with Bugambilia thrown in. Crowd didn’t react because they’re not AAA stars and no one but the exotico really played to the crowd. Too busy getting moves in! Of the other five, Flamtia stood out the most, but it all did kind of blend together. Not bad considering their experience level and stellar moves, but they’ve got to play less to each other and more to the people in the seats

when there’s not enough to room to moonsault at ringside, moonsault into the crowd

Argenis, Atomic Boy, Súper Fly vs Billy el Malo, Black Mamba, Gran Apache: Liked this better than the similar match from the last taping which didn’t make national. More action, and Atomic Boy came off better. Super Fly is a shadow of what he used to be, but Mamba was better than his previous TV matches. Atomic Boy bled way too much. Feud kind has to be over since Gran Apache won clean, right? (Not right.)

Daga nearly invents a painful new move

Texano Jr. vs Argenis for the AAA World Heavyweight Championship: Crowd bought the one big near fall and Texano looked strong, so all you want from your one minute match. Argenis didn’t look sharp, but he just had a match and appeared to be hurt, so no that’s totally fair.

triple corner dropkick

Cuervo, Escoria, Espíritu vs Daga, Halloween, Psicosis: Good eight minute match. They set up the Pepe Casas story well without it overpowering the match or even the finish. There were some bits that didn’t seem quite right – the set up to the comeback spot was random – but the good more than outweighed the bad. The Cuervo/Halloween issue wasn’t touched here.

Drago DDT

Drago, Fénix, Octagón vs Pentagón Jr., Silver King, Toscano: Pentagon was sure angry about Toscano. Silver King, who’s been upset with Toscano for weeks, could not care less about his shenanigans. I have no idea why, and then it was dropped for the second half of the match until the finish, where Silver was mad at Toscano and Pentagon was just peacemaker. Whatever. Octagon was kept more out of the way this week, which was more helpful. Toscano took a crazy bump at the end and Fenix and Drago were a fun team.
