CMLL (SUN) 03/10/2013 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Bengala & Metatrón b Camorra & Cholo
Tecnicos took first fall with Bengala screwing up his finish on Cholo and just repeating it. Bengala seemed to hurt a leg in the second. Rudos took second, tecnicos took third. Cholo was hurt after the match, perhaps landing on his head from Metatron’s guillotine legdrop finish. Volador and Metatron bumped into each other before the match – Volador & Dragon Rojo had done a promo to start the show – and Metatron challenged Volador to a match in the post-match promo.
2) Bobby Zavala, Hijo del Signo, Nosferatu b Leono, Metálico, Pegasso
Rudos took 2/3, Signo using the ropes to pin Metalico in the third. Despite the finish, the Metalico vs the World bit doesn’t seem to be going anywhere right now.
3) Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit b Goya Kong, Luna Mágica, Marcela
Rudas took 2/3, Goya missing the big splash and the rudas beating all the tecnicas.
4) Vangelis b Delta [lightning]
Vangelis won with the northern lights suplex in 6:40.
5) Ángel de Oro, La Máscara, Shocker b Puma, Sangre Azteca, Tiger
Olimpico was originally announced, replaced by Sangre Azteca. Rudos won the first when Shocker put Sangre in the reinera, but was stunned by a double superkick by the cats. Tecnicos rallied back to win the second and the third.
6) La Sombra, Máximo, Rush DQ Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Volador Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3. Volador and Sombra pinned Averno & Maximo in the third. They had faced off a few times in the fall, but Volador offered a handshake. Sombra thought hard about it, and eventually accepted it. Voaldor hugged him, kept holding Sombra’s arm, and pulled off Sombra’s mask with his other hand for the DQ. Volador challenged Mascara to a mask vs mask match.

CMLL (SUN) 03/10/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) Azteca de Oro & El Divino DQ Demonio Rojo & El Piraña
2) Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno, Sádico b El Hippie, Halcón de Plata, Sky Kid
Rudso took 2/3, Sadico sneaking in a foul on Hippie.
3) Bárbaro Cavernario, Espectrum, Maléfico b Gallo, León Blanco, Smaker
Rudos took 1/3, again cheating to win.
4) Infierno b El Alteño [mask]
Alteno took fall one, Infierno took fall two by pulling his mask, the seconds got involed in fall three and Infierno took in for the mask win. El Alteño is Guillermo Eduardo Barajas, 25 years old.
5) Misterioso Jr., Rey Escorpión, Terrible b Diamante Azul, Sagrado, Valiente
Rudos took 2/3, Escorpion beating Valiente and Terrible on Sagrado.

Saturday’s AAA TV aired the Demon/Texano angle as part of Noti AAA. They also announced two tapings: 03/29 (Thursday) in Arena Naucalpan and 04/15 (Monday) in Leon. That’s all the TV for April, though the one taping every two weeks pattern means they’ll be back at somewhere near the end of the month. The Arena Naucalpan show replaces the usual TVC Deportes taping; maybe there’s a 03/27 FILL vs Gym Silver King cibernetico show?

Los Colisenos says Friday night’s show had about 4,000 people in attendance and forecasts next week as “three times that.” I’d believe 2 times, but there should be a fiesta if this attendance is into five digits without some manipulation of the figures. Rey Cometa, Namajague and Stuka are way over on this website (and that’s why I should be able to give CMLL $20 to watch this show live), but the casual fans don’t seem to see them as more than entertaining midcards and they seem to turn out for stars only. Maybe that’s why CMLL on Galavision and Fox Sports focused strongly on Rayo de Jalisco appearing.

Ayako Hamada is working Friday’s LLF show. I could think of another couple of promotions who could use her for a match or more.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Rob has highlights of AAA 01/18/2013 and July 1997 AAA.

Bill has highlights of IWRG 12/22/11.

Lucha Libre in Japan

03/10 NOAH: Genba Hirayanagi [O] & Maybach Tanguchi Jr. b Ricky Marvin [X] & Super Crazy [GHC JR TAG]

Another NOAH team has already been set up for the next shot, but Marvin may be in line for a match for the Junior singles title (vs Taiji Ishimori.)

Lineups

Luchas 2000 (SAT) 03/30/2013 Arena Lopez Mateos
1) Alan Extreme & Imposible vs Centvrión & Chico Che
2) Dinamic Black, Freelance, Golden Magic vs Carta Brava Jr. (IWRG), Comando Negro, Suicida
3) Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. & Oriental vs Decnnis & Hijo de Pirata Morgan
4) Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000 vs Jaque Mate, Sangre Chicana, Satánico
5) Atlantis, Blue Panther, Brazo de Oro, Brazo de Plata, Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Shocker vs Black Terry, El Fantasma, Negro Navarro, Scorpio Jr., Shu el Guerrero, Solar I, Villano III, Villano IV [Copa Luchas 2000]

If you’re a fan for who lucha libre is forever frozen in the early 90s, that is a main event for you. You’re also probably willing to overlook these guys being 20 years older and well out of shape, but baffled about young guys Shocker & Mr. Niebla being involved.

Cien Caras is a busy guy in March for a retired guy. I think he might have a booking on 03/22 too.

2 thoughts to “Volador outsmarts Sombra, Infierno unmasked Alteno, AAA taping schedule”

  1. The Rayo de Jalisco return at Sin Salida 2010 with the Maximo/Taichi hair match on top somehow had an (allegedly) 90% full Arena Mexico on a sunday, I think that’s why the tv shows focus on Rayos return. That was also a Mexico vs. Japan midcard apuestas match on top plus an Universo/Rayo trios match and I think CMLL never had such a high attendance number since then, so they try to copy themselves.

  2. “Mr. Niebla & Volador main event Tuesday’s Arena Aficion show, which appears to have Black Mamba in the undercard.”

Kobe Bryant is wrestling in Mexico between Laker games, wow
