Dinamic Black wins Welterweight championship, Mesias vs Texano in Puerto Rico

IWRG (SUN) 02/24/2013 Arena Naucalpan [Estrellas del Ring, IWRG, The Gladiatores]
1) Epidemia & Ranchero b Fly Star & Galaxy
Ranchero’s debut, replacing Electro Boy. IWRG’s results still list Electro Boy, but it appears to be a rancher in a cowboy hat. Fly Star’s first match here since August.
2) Freelance & Hijo del Pantera b Alemán & Fulgore
Straight falls. It was announced this would be Pantera’s last match in Naualpan for the year – he’s heading to Japan for the next 10 months.
3) Alan Extreme, Cerebro Negro, Imposible b Centvrión, Chico Che, Golden Magic
In the third fall, Golden Magic gave Imposible a top rope martinete (!!!), but Cerbero Negro snuck in a foul on Centvrion.
4) Canis Lupus, Carta Brava Jr., Decnnis, Scorpio Jr. DQ Dr. Cerebro, Pantera, Trauma I, Trauma II
Tecnicos took 2/3. Bloody fight, Scorpio and Pantera feuding. Scorpio got caught fouling Pantera for the DQ.
5) Dinamic Black b Rayan [IWRG IC WELTER]
Rayan came in as champion. Dinamic Black’s gameplan appeared to be keeping Rayan on the mat. He got caught with a hold in the first, but came back with his own in the second. Third fall was more big moves. Dinamic Black survived a middle rope Devil’s Wings, and came back with a Spanish fly and a package piledriver to take the third and win the title. Rayan falls in second defense. Dinamic Black is 29th champion.

This is Dinamic Black’s second IWRG title win – he won the lightweight one prior.

Super X (SUN) 02/24/2013 Arena del Sur [Estrellas del Ring]
***Xplotion***
2) Tribal b Rhino, Zumbi, Vamper, Nortux
Astro de Plata was scheduled to be in this match.
3) Solar I b Negro Navarro
Both received plaques after the match.
4) Juventud Guerrera & Ricky Marvin b Eterno & Fenix (AAA)
match got a standing ovation.
5) Electroshock b Halloween
Hardcore brawl outside the ring. Electroshock avoided a Halloween top rope splash thru a table, pinned him, then put Halloween thru the table anyway.

The Mesias vs Texano Jr. title rematch is happening, but not in Mexico. The match has been announced for Puerto Rico’s WWL debut show on 04/21.

Valiente led his atomicos team to a win in Arena Coliseo San Luis Potosi on Sunday. Lover Boy successfully defended the DF Heavyweight championship in the semimain.

Tonight’s Arena Puebla show has Pequeno Olimpico vs Astral for the CMLL Minis title, where Olimpico is expected to retain. Thunder returns to action in the main event.

Paraoniko is out of action because he had to undergo surgery to pull out glass shard deeply imbedded inside of him by a light tube. It seems like he was hurting for a while before they figured out what the problem was. Light tubes are dumb.

The TxT-ese show at Arena Loepz Mateos show this weekend is still on. It’s just not actually a Todo x el Todo promoted show, but a different promoter using their wrestlers (as is the case when they’ve been brought in outside of Mexico City; this is just the first time they’ve had another promoter use them in the metro area.)

Many CMLL luchadors, including Stuka are headed to Coliseo Reynosa on the Sunday after Dos Leyendas. That would be among Stuka’s first unmasked appearances, if he lost. Their Twitter account bills Hijo del Talisman as a CMLL luchador. The original Talisman is one of CMLL’s trainers, so it’s no surprise he’d have a son training to become to a luchador, and this might be a sign he’s close to a debut. The poster uses Dr. X’s picture for Ephesto for usual reasons.

There’s Cien Caras vs Mascara Ano 2000 vs Rayo de Jalisco match in Arena Santa Lucia Monterrey on 03/03

A Japanese site is selling unofficial CMLL handbooks, with artists drawing 14 lucahdors and I guess brief text pieces (in Japanese.) Maybe that’s more they were selling them, because the new Mephisto & Fuego covers are sold out.

A story on Peatónito, the Super Barrio of pedestrian rights.

4) Dinamic Black, Dr. Cerebro, Golden Magic vs Canis Lupus, Carta Brava Jr., Eterno
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Tinieblas Jr., Veneno vs Fuerza Guerrera, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Máscara Año 2000 Jr.

CMLL (SUN) 03/03/2013 Arena Coliseo
1) Freesbe & Oro Jr. vs Apocalipsis & Inquisidor
2) Acero, Bam Bam, Shockercito vs Mercurio, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior
3) Diamante, Rey Cometa, Sagrado vs Puma, Sangre Azteca, Vangelis
4) Tritón vs Misterioso Jr. [lightning]
5) Fuego & Stuka Jr. vs Namajague & Shigeo Okumura [Arena Coliseo TAG]
Fuego & Stuka are champions, going for their ninth defense.
6) Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Mistico vs Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mr. Niebla

Diamante Azul went a month between DF appearances (while still in GDL and Puebla), but seems to be on shows again starting last week.

Second challenge for Namajague & Okumura. We’ve heard Namajague is going home in March but we don’t know a date; it might be possible for Okumura and him to win the championships and lose them again quickly, but it seems unlikely (especially with Stuka in Reynosa on the 17th.) Cometa will be around to get involved in that match, if necessary. If Fuego & Stuka kept the titles, they’ll tie La Mascara for most defenses for a current champion, though Los Bombarderos have held their belts for much longer.

CMLL (SUN) 03/03/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Brillante & Meteoro vs Relampago Azul & Thunder Boy
2) Halcón de Plata, Metatrón, Smaker vs Évola, Exterminador, Gran Kenut
3) El Alteño & León Blanco vs Espectrum & Infierno
rematch from the previous Sunday
4) Ángel de Oro & Delta vs Niebla Roja & Tiger
5) Pólvora vs Máscara Dorada [CMLL WELTER]
Polvora is champion, going for his fourth defense

Mascara Dorada is the former champion and beat Polvora here in a singles match back on January 6th. Polvora is already scheduled to defend this title the night before in Sinola.
