CMLL (FRI) 02/22/2013 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Demus 3:16 & Mercurio b Acero & Aereo
Another double piledriver win for the minis.
2) Pegasso, Starman, Tritón b Hooligan, Nitro, Skándalo
Tecnicos took 1/3. Triton used a moonsault (and not the twisty one) to beat Nitro.
3) Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr. b Misterioso Jr., Namajague, Shigeo Okumura
Rudos tried to Stuka & Cometa, but they fought them off to win the first. Misterioso distracted the ref in the second while Okumura pulled Stuka’s mask and Namajague pinned him for the win. Third saw Namajague go for the mist again, but get Okumura by mistake. Stuka fouled Namajague and pinned him while Cometa submitted a blinded Okumura.
4) Mr. Águila, Psicosis, Volador Jr. b Ángel de Oro, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada
Rudos took 1/3. Volador gets his win back from last week.
5) La Máscara b Averno [lightning]
Campana in 7:59.
6) Marco Corleone, Rush, Shocker b Mr. Niebla, Terrible, Último Guerrero
Rush fouled Terrible to get up the win.

I did not hear all of RadioCMLL last night, but I believe the Fox matches were 2 & 6, leaving 3/4/5 for Televisa next week.

AAA wrestlers and their families took medical tests and signed up for the new luchador health insurance on Friday. The insurance program was previously announced as for independent luchadors. Maybe everyone is eligible? Dinastia needs medical insurance before he does something crazy, so this is very good.

I’ve been told the Tomahank on the 03/03 IWRG card is indeed Tomhawk TT from Dragon Gate. This is not a replacement for Eita, both will be around for quite a while longer.

Bill has highlights of 10/30/2012 Guadalajara.

Angel Reyna, a Liga MX player, is hoping the league takes back it’s ban of his wrestling move celebrations. He’d been doing headscissors and the occasional Mistica and is a fan of Volador. (Via R de Rudo.)

CMLL (FRI) 03/01/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Hombre Bala Jr. & Super Halcón Jr. vs Bobby Zavala & Disturbio
2) Dalis la Caribeña, Estrellita, Silueta vs Amapola, Tiffany, Zeuxis
3) La Sombra & Volador Jr. vs Mr. Niebla & Shocker and La Máscara & Mephisto and Averno & Máscara Dorada and Máximo & Mr. Águila and Marco Corleone & Olímpico and Guerrero Maya Jr. & Negro Casas and Felino & Hijo del Fantasma [natl pi, semifinal]
4) Atlantis, Mistico, Rush vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero

He’s back. And he’s doing the promo for the show.

On Thursday, CMLL held a press conference where they announced Mephisto & Mascara Dorada and La Mascara & Averno as partners for this tournament. Mephisto talked a bit about teaming with Dorada. They were hyping Averno & La Mascara as a team as late as last night, during the RadioCMLL broadcast of the tournament. Today, with the usual non-explanation, the teams are now Mephisto & La Mascara and Averno & Mascara Dorada. It’s probably unimportant, but CMLL could at least try to look like they’re paying attention and they expect other people to pay attention to them.

Looks like Sombra/Volador or Niebla/Shocker, though I hope Team Heel Kick goes far. The problem with doing a six month build for Shocker and Mr. Niebla is they both might be find a way not to be around by the time it’s done. An Anniversario show seems like the least likely place for Mr. Niebla vs Shocker to happen – Dos Leyendas and the June/December shows (when they can be bothered to do them) have shorter builds they’re liable to make it.

  1. The 1:30am EST showing of Noches de Coliseo was:
Diluvio Negro II & Rey Hechicero vs Sergio Romo Jr. & Skayde from 2/17

Match was primarily a showcase of Hechicero and Skayde. Romo and Diluvio got some feuding/brawling in during the 3rd fall. Hechicero hit a nice corkscrew dive on Skayde while Romo fouled Diluvio and snaked the pin.
