Mistico returns in Puebla, Signo/Metalico, Brazos, DTU, Black Spirit, National Cruiserweight title?

CMLL (MON) 02/18/2013 Arena Puebla [Porra Fresa]
1) Centauro de Fuego & Siki Ozama Jr. b Dinámikoo & Tigre Rojo Jr.
Tiger Rojo Jr. replaced Milenium. Rudos took 2/3, Osama giving Rojo a big move in the third to set up the win. Good match.
2) Artillero & Blue Center b Asturiano & Bengala
Rudos took 2/3. Center’s debut on the rudo side and still seemed getting used to it. He and Bengala exchanged pins on every fall, but there was no other tease of a feud.
3) Astral b Pequeño Olímpico [lightning]
Astral won via casita and challenged for a title shot. Olimpico immediately accepts.
4) Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus b Magnus, Starman, Stigma
Rudos took 1/3 in a good match, though the two man submission on Magnus & Stigma took a while to put figure out.
5) Blue Panther, Shocker, Stuka Jr. b Misterioso Jr., Morphosis, Olímpico
Misterioso replaced Felino. Tecnicos took 1/3. Stuka was the most effective tecnico but Shocker was the most popular.
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, Mistico DQ Kráneo, Psicosis, Volador Jr.
Mistico’s first match back since he injured his shoulder in January. Volador started the match by attacking Sombra, but switched to ripping up Mistico’s mask. Tecnicos took 2/3, Psicosis fouling Mistico. Volador ripped off Mistico’s mask after the match.

Mistico sounded like he was in normal (healthy) shape.

CMLL (TUE) 02/19/2013 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Yahoo! Deportes]
1) Oro Jr. & Robin b Akuma & Espanto Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Metálico, Sensei, Soberano Jr. DQ Bobby Zavala, Disturbio, Hijo del Signo
Sensei replaced Leono. Metalico surprised Zavala in the first, and Signo fouled Metalico in the second.
3) Fuego, Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado b Puma, Sangre Azteca, Virus
Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Tiger b Diamante [lightning]
Tiger won in 4:57.
5) Ángel de Oro, Atlantis, Máximo b Dragón Rojo Jr., Mephisto, Pólvora
Tecnicos took 2/3.
6) Blue Panther, Diamante Azul, Super Porky b Felino, Negro Casas, Rey Escorpión

Add Hijo del Signo to Virus, Disturbio and Bobby Zavala in the list of people who suddenly have a problem with a Metalico. That sounds like a cage match.

CMLL (TUE) 02/19/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) El Divino & El Ídolo b Demonio Rojo & Évola
Tecnicos took 1/3. Evola replaced Demonio Rojo.
2) Esfinge & Gallo b Bárbaro Cavernario & Exterminador
Tecnicos took falls 1/3
3) Goya Kong, Luna Mágica, Marcela b La Vaquerita, Tiffany, Zeuxis
Vaquerita’s debut here. She took Goya’s splash in the third. Tecnicos took /3.
4) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Tritón DQ Black Warrior, Ephesto, Vangelis
Tecnicos took 1/3, rudos taking the tecnico’s masks at the end.
5) La Sombra, Shocker, Valiente DQ Averno, Mr. Niebla, Volador Jr.
Shocker replaced Mistico, announced ahead of time. Tecnicos took 2/3, Averno fouling Shocker in the third.

Two straight DQs to end the show.

R de Rudo says they interviews Vaquerita about joining CMLL, which will go up later.

The Brazos show seems to have sold out Arena Neza, or at least come close. La Mascara & Maximo won the tag team tournament over the Junior Dinamtias with a little help from Psycho Clown. El Brazo and Psycho Clown were prevented from working in matches on the shows because they otherwise used CMLL shows, but they both got in the ring at points in the show. Brazo Celestial won the cibernetico, and the team of Canek, Brazo deOro, Brazo de Plata, Solar won the Toreo de Cuatro Caminos where everyone looked very old.

Skayde and Sergio Romo beat Rey Hechicero and Diluvio Negro II in Arena Coliseo Monterrey. The XMW trios match in the semifinal got money thrown in the ring.

Flamita won the DTU Alto Impacto title last night from Eita in a multi-man match. Joe Lider also won his title match. There’s a photo album up but no recap.

Sexi Star confirmed she vacated the Reina de Reinas title on Facebook. Sexi says she’s a winner, she’s the best, she’ll get the belt back at some time, but does not say why she’s actually doing this. She does imply she might reveal this down the road.

It turns out the new Black Spirit is – the old Black Spirit! Hijo de LA Park has decided to stop using his father’s name and just try to succeed on his own merits. (At least in Monterrey, he’s still being announced as “Hijo de LA Park” as a nickname.) Black Spirit, who used that name from 2008 to 2010, is also a new dad.

Speaking of vacant titles, this week’s Arena Coliseo Reynosa show lists an Extreme Tiger vs Rey Astral match for “the vacant (Mexican) National Cruiserweight Championship.”  The most recent record for that title was Karis La Momia – the future La Parka AAA – winning the title from Blue Demon Jr. in 1996. AAA has occasionally credited La Parka with the championship but never did anything with it, even back when they were still using the national titles. A match for a vacant title would make sense, and indy Extreme Tiger defending the title around Mexico is not the worst idea, but I don’t know that there’s anything to this. I’d expect someone will be using a random title belt and pretending it’s a national title.

03/03 AAA TV Lineup (SLP) – trios title rematch

2) Cinthia Moreno, La Jarochita, Lolita vs ?, Jennifer Blake, Taya Valkyrie
3) Drago, Jack Evans, Octagón Jr. vs Devil Rocker, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker
4) ?, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera vs Daga, Halloween, Psicosis
5) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Argos, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Texano [AAA TRIOS]
Psycho Circus are champions. Consejo are getting a rematch. First defense.
6) Cibernético, El Mesías, Electroshock vs Chessman, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, LA Park

Air Date: 03/16 (afternoon prior to Rey de Reyes) & 03/23

I don’t know any of the Rey de Reyes matches. I really do not. I think I should. I do not. It’s very weird. Maybe Rey de Reyes is just the most exciting Noches de Coliseo of the year.

LA Park is a moody dude who can not get along with anyone, but he’s really not getting along with Perro Jr.

Argos replaces Toscano for the title rematch, but it still a situation which may call for Toscano. Texano has better things to do to win these trios titles, but this might be the last stand for the Consejo if they lose – there doesn’t seem much going on for Argos & Mascara going forward.

Best guess for mystery person in the fourth match would be the shocking return of Vampiro. Hooray. It could also be the mystery guy on AAA Fusion or Ricky Marvin, but hopes aren’t quite that high.

First TV taping Jack Evans has been on this year. Not the first TV taping Octagon Jr. has been scheduled for this year. (Flamita should keep his schedule clear.) That should be a really fun match.

Mystery woman figures to be LuFisto. Maybe that’s why the Arena Neza poster was spread around Tuesday night and then taken back down, they didn’t want to give away the big surprise of LuFisto. Jarochita is not fired, congratulations to her. Taya and Jennifer probably aren’t going to get along.

Zumbi also might be the mystery guy on the Fusion show.  Zumbi worked some AAA TV in late 2009 and early 2010, but only made TV once (Mantra! Lasser Boy!) and most of the Zumbi-ness was edited out of the match. Angelico likewise worked an opener back in 2011.

Next taping is 03/17 in Monterrey.

7) Pentagón Jr. vs Aerostar, Último Gladiador, Juventud Guerrera [AAA FUSION, quarterfinal]
8) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Devil Rocker, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker

Poster posted by Arena Neza Facebook. (I think I’m safe.)

Air Date: week of 03/06, 03/13, maybe 03/20?. Show may have been moved from Wednesdays to Thursdays, it’s tough to tell with TVC Deportes. It depends on how long the women’s tournament matches go, but they could do one show of them, and get two weeks out of the other four matches.

103 days between normal Fusion tapings. There’s the Hector Garza tribute (a Perros del Mal show), Guerra de Titanes and the WAVE/AAA show in Japan in between.

Sexi Star vacated her Reina de Reinas title last night via Dorian Roldan Twitter message. No reason given. She hasn’t said anything on Twitter. Not sure if there will be a further explanation on TV. Sexi Star’s most recent title defense – on the WAVE show in Japan – just aired this week on Fusion and it was notable for how much she controlled the match. She looked like a dominant champion. That was months ago, but this is a bit of a shift. Sexi Star hasn’t been on a show since the QPPLC final last December.

LuFisto is a Candaian anime influnced wrestler. She wrestled in Monterrey in 2005, mostly for LLF but occasionally in hardcore shows including a match with Joe Lider. (She’s since retired from hardcore matches.) She was back in Mexico last year for the Daga promotion. La Jarochita and La Hechicera are the only AAA women (besides Sexi Star) not to make the field. Hechicera barely makes TV, but Cinthia is the same. Jarochita was fired on the Pachuca taping, but that would seem to have been annulled; Atomic Boy was fired and he’s on this card. (Jarochita and Hechicera are not that great and we’re not missing out anything by booking Lufisto instead.) Whoever did the poster doesn’t know how AAA spells Reina de Reinas. There’s already a lot of matches here, so I’d guess the semifinals and finals are on another show.

Jennifer vs Sexi Star is a follow up to their issues in Pachuca. Mari Apache and Lolita sounds like it should be good, but Lolita struggled in the last two matches I’ve seen of her (the WAVE match and the Toluca taping); hopefully this is the start of a turn around. This is obviously Sexy Lady’s biggest match in AAA so far. Fabi’s the favorite by default, but there’s an obvious youth movement in AAA and a surprise winner is possible.

A poster on the Box Y Lucha board is convinced Pentagon Jr. is Ultimo Gladiador. This is a sad day for him. It’s also a sad day for any of us who still thought Thunder might be Angelico, though I think we’re out of those people. This is his first match in Mexico since a June TxT show. I’d guess he and Ricky are here as indy guys and not AAA contracted performers. Given the type of guys who are being used in these matches, the mystery might have intended to be Astro de Plata and the replacement might be someone similar (hope for Freelance.) Ricky and Pentagon Jr. (sneaking in this twice) are the favorites but not unbeatable ones. The two guys who advanced back in November where Fenix and Daga, and any one coming of these two qualifiers is going to set up quite the finale.

Clowns vs Rockers should be a good match. It’s noticeable that the star power is down. Wagner and LA Park headlined the last few of these, but the last few of these didn’t really draw well. This is probably a lot cheaper card to put together. AAA and Neza would like a better turnout, for visual reasons if nothing else, but it may not be as big a factor.
